I feel like it's really hard for me to sing while playing. I can't do both at the same time, unless I do a very simple strumming pattern (E.g. Down-down-down-down). I guess I just can't multitask.
I had the same problem for a great while. You gotta just keep practicing the strumming pattern till its muscle memory. Almost second nature. Then you don't gotta think about how you're strumming and UOU can focus on vocals, cords ect.
+Calvin Chow as you can see, between down & down, you have to stop for a very short while. But the rhythm in the song doesnt stop. That's why you lost the rhythm on your hand. So, to work it out, between down-down-down-down, your hand still move, doesnt stop. However, when you move your hand across the strings, dont let your hand touch the strings. for example DOWN (move hand but dont touch the strings) DOWN (move hand but dont touch the strings) DOWN (move hand but dont touch the strings) DOWN (move hand but dont touch the strings) I hope it helps

If you're struggling with Bm try only barring the top three strings, this won't change the sound because you have your other finger on the fourth string so if you bar the rest of the strings except that one its a little easier to reach...does that make any sense, I'm terrible at explaining things!
Tip for everyone struggling with bar chords: use the side of your finger(like the actual bony part) to hold down the fret, it's a lot stronger. Hope this helps!!

Don't know if anyone else struggled with the chorus' strumming pattern, but to me, I found rewriting it this way was easier: D_, DU, DU, D_ _U, D_, DU, DU At least to someone who reads music, the idea of rewriting it from his way to a four-beat measure with four eighth notes appealed. Of course, the note change remains on the first and fourth D's. I'm part way through mastering this song, and so far, AWESOME! Thanks for breaking it down so nicely for someone as remedially knowledgeable ukulele-wise as me; I am actually not just nodding along, but truly getting it! Hopefully it finishes as strongly. :)
6:32 finally got it after an hour and 30 minutes.. he's just really fast to teach and faster cuz he end up down to the last sample but the actual strum he teaches ended up 6:45 up 7:14 down

neat tutorial, i've found that if you base the intro notes around the Em chord rather than the G it's a lot easier and the notes that are missing from the studio version drop out naturally.
I was struggling with where the words go with the notes. Then I I paid 5$ on patreon and got his song book, wow, in an hour i can (kinda) play and sing this now. The songbook is super good value if anyone was wondering whether to buy
