Not so smug when the battery capacity dwindles or when it needs replacing rendering the car worthless.

It's all fun and games until we run out of gas and wind for electricity.

      It doesn't use gas 🤪
And you'll never run out of wind as long as the planet rotates. And you can alternatively charge by connecting to a solar grid.

@@KineticEV obviously you haven't heard about the energy crisis where last month wind energy was only 2% and most small energy companies are going under as gas has gone up in price. Now energy bills gonna rise and there is talk of possible brownouts.

@@KineticEV Irish energy prices are rising.. Govt official states one reason as,... Not as much wind as predicted...

@@Sython6 I have actually. I have a natural gas furnace and I have two cars. Fortunately I don't used much of the natural gas for my furnace for heating but I do for hot water but I'm very energy conscious so my gas bill is low.
And I feel the pressure when I have to fill up at the gas station. Gas prices are on the rise and I'm paying almost double which is why I'm buying an EV.
Even though energy cost are rising it's still cheaper to charge an EV off peak hours at home than filling up with gas.
As far as brown out we need to strengthen our grid with wind and solar and battery backups. We need to put solar panels on our roofs wherever feasible and that is almost everywhere.
If homes and apartment buildings did this and were more energy conscious it would be way less on the existing grid. We need to stop making excuses and get it done.
It's not a money issue since people and government waste so much money daily. It's not technology because we have it. Stop saying or letting people convince you it's to hard to do and find a way to do it.
I managed to get rid of all my halogen bulbs and go all LED. I pay attention to my HVAC and only run it when I need to. I kill the power to all my electronics that don't need to sit their idle suckling up phantom electricity. That alone has saved me $1,200 a year. Now if I calculate what it cost to charge an EV for a year after I've done all these things it actually cost less than that $1,200 savings and my savings is still in the green.
So again, people need to stop making excuses and convincing themselves this is going to be expensive or a strain on the grid. It won't if they put some thought and planning in to it.

@@conman4119 If we suddenly woke up one day and had no more fossil fuels mankind would find a way to make energy. I'm sure even with the rising prices your not heating your home by fireplace alone and illuminating it with candles.
People need to take energy production into their own hands. We need to strengthen our grid with alternative methods and that will help drive cost down.
Not all can do this but it is certainly possible to use solar during the day and store extra in battery backup at your house then at night pull from the grid and in the case of a power outrage the home switches over to battery. This would lower monthly consumption and drive cost down.
