I’m glad you included the Emotiva system. Even though many of us have crossed the Rubicon of high end and high cost audio… it’s nice to see systems for about $1K.
We did 16 stand mounts a year ago capped at $3k. There are a lot of great speakers available today. Buchardt, Totem, Triangle, Philharmonic, Falcon, KLH, Sonus Faber, Speakerlab, GR Research, ATC, KEF, Golden Ear, Tekton, Monitor Audio, Polk, LSA, Elac.
Just this week, I received the Emotiva B2+ speakers and TA1 amp combo, and so far I'm very satisfied with it. It's my first hifi system, I had heard it at the Montreal Audiofest back in March 2023, and was blown away by the sound considering the price point. I also love the fact that the amp does everything and even makes headphones sound amazing since it has a 3.5mm jack. Very happy with my purchase, and I have to admit your review from last year did factor in my decision 🙂
I started my system about a year ago. Started w a IotaVX SA3 integrated Fluance 85, Bluesound Node amd a pair of close out Wharefdale D 320 bookshelves. First upgrade was the latest Schiit phonostage, second was the IOTAVX PA3 amp. My next upgrade is speakers. About halfway to a pair of Zu DW6 Superfly. Before any upgrade I was in for around 1700 US. If you haven’t give that IOTAVX a listen. Would love a Schiit Yggdrasil review, preferably with the new CD player Urd.
BEST mid-level entry loudspeakers of choice! That is the Acoustic Energy 100mk2's. I honestly don't think you can do better anywhere near the price of $500. in the USA.
I fully believe that the Daniel Hertz system is outstanding. Why all the hype all of the sudden when these (Daniel Hertz) systems have been around for years? This is an honest question I am not a hater just curious.
Whatever happened to the Fleetwood Deville's ? I swear you said you would never replace them, yet they sure didn't seem to last very long. Were you able to recoup your investment?
The Wisa is the best system I have ever used, absolutely fantastic! Only one problem I faced, when I connected my turntable the hum was very audible and loud. Far more so than going the normal route. Apart from that the wisa system is the biz.
There's a gang out of Scandinavia somewhere -- I think they run a high-end audio salon together -- who did a ten-way comparison and were decidedly underwhelmed with the R3 Meta as well, particularly in the area of timing.
French integrated amp is pronounced electro comp pon neigh. Been around along time Highly rated . Loved your system comparisons and your Personal listening experiences. Thanks for sharing and caring.
Bought my first Electrocompaniet in 1979..........( "elektrokompanjiet ") Well here we have it ..........Class D........ A question comes to my mind ..........What will be the lifespan of Maria ?..., some old friends still have those old ML's still singing beautifull tunes !
27k apparently is enough to not use standard screws to bolt down the drivers, but some people will be able to unscrew them in order to find out how much over 20k they overpaid.
By telling us that slight angle adjustments change the sound, you just revealed the CSS Typhon's weak point: poor vertical dispersion. For $5500/pr, the woofer-tweeter integration should have no issues.
Even the best loudspeakers have deviations off axis both vertically and horizontally. Traditional floor standers allow for horizontal axis adjustments but not vertically. The Typhon’s adjustment allows for the listener to be on axis both horizontally and vertically.
To my knowledge, companiet means company. Electro means things, that works with electricity. So, in total, a firm, that makes electronic stuff ;-) Electronic Company or Electro Company.
I think $10k+ loudspeaker manufacturers ban sound samples of their products in a “normal” room, and with comparing them to cheaper models. And I know why. Only a controlled environment with a professional stuff wearing an expensive suit
Ummmm, maybe you missed the memo but I sold those a while ago. When I find better, and can upgrade at no or minimal cost I do it. My ref system consists of the Daniel Hertz Amber System. I can not keep every speaker I review as I am not a wealthy guy, at all. I review, listen, hear new things, refuse to review some of them. When something comes in that really wows me, and I can switch, I do. It's all part of what I do here. The Heritage Specials are just as good as I said in my review. Among the finest bookshelf style speakers I have heard.
Admittedly at the mercy of somethings got to sound betteritis for the better part of two deades, I can say the system i have now is the one ive had the longest. Monitor audio 300 platinums. The best speakers I've owned by a mile. Esoteric F05 Integrated, blows away the marantz PM10 and high end Mac, as well as countless others, and as many tts as I've cycled through, nothing beata my JVC QL-Y66F. I mean it unbeatable at any price under $6k and looks amazing. How long i keep this system? Only the audiophile God's know...

How did the Philharmonic stand up to the others on your list?

Amazing work you are putting in in your videos. It is a pleasure to watch them. Thank you!😊
Levinso's last amplifier designs were 331, 332, and 333 class A amplifiers. I still have my 333 and won't ever let it go.
The nearfield scenario is more realistic for urban hifi enthusiast as most live in petite apartments nowadays..imo
2500 USD in the USA but in Europe the Price is 1500 Euro for the Triangle Comete 40th Anniversary in Golden Oak
that DHz stuff is ultra legit.
finally your review that worth watching without any prejudices.
Brilliant reviews loved it
Yes! The ambers! I am excited to hear your impressions of them. I am curious.
Really enjoyed the comparisons.
I look at the 40th as A Grown up Party speaker lol I put thr power to them and open them up 😃 Great job and thank you '
Triangle: i have the Borea (Bro3) and the Ez Comete (model down from the anniversary). I see them online now for a grand - absolutely worth it!
Thanks

I thought those were just released recently myself. 🤷🏼♂️
They were released to us as the sole North American Dealer a year ago. These are the brand new lines by DH.@@mikedelara8226
isn't the mighty cat chip available in older amps? Or is it a different chip in this line?@@lonecrowaudiollc.9050
Whatever happened to the Fleetwood Deville's ? I swear you said you would never replace them, yet they sure didn't seem to last very long. Were you able to recoup your investment?
I remember the Dynaudio Heritage Specials being his "last speaker", but in his defense, "A wise man can change his mind, a fool never".
There are people who stay with one system all their lives others want constant change searching for the new best thing
I am also interested to know why Fleetwood Deville wasn’t included here.
Its the nature of sound. We always want something different. You could have the perfect speaker and then want a crappier one
@@Canadian_Eh_I Ha! You hit it on the head!
Got Emotiva B2+ speakers after watching the review and I love them!
No Fleetwood Sound Devills?

Man that Black Ice is a beautiful product. I want
Nice Vidio all these systems you feature are great . My dream was always Mark Levison since 1980 just out of my reach.
You're not alone hahaha.................I also beguilded those beautifull blue glowing MAc's at that time....
Thank you for a great run-through!
FYI, Electrocompaniet is pronounced Electrocompanee-ett
I saw Vivid Audio recently got US distribution. Would love to see your thoughts on the Kaya S12.
Still running Heritage Specials into class D with a tube preamp. Nothing I've heard yet beats it for the price.
Class D with a tube pre is the way to go.
Do you still have the R3 Meta? You were the only reviewer that didn’t gush over them
There's a gang out of Scandinavia somewhere -- I think they run a high-end audio salon together -- who did a ten-way comparison and were decidedly underwhelmed with the R3 Meta as well, particularly in the area of timing.
Maria amp needs a balance control and some tone controls, then I might be interested.
There are plenty of other options out there.
We have some amazing Accuphase integrateds with those controls.
Oooh😮 we only pay half price for those triangle 40 anniversary Here in Europe!!
The import penalty changes the value equation no matter where we live.
@@1mctousnot if I send you them as a personal package…😂
@@trutmaasfull Hopefully France's La Poste wouldn't charge 1000 euros to ship them!
Would love to see a high-end integrated amp comparison between Daniel Hertz Maria, Mola Mola Kula and Gryphon 120.
Gryphon 120… puny compared to the 300.
There's a lot here to digest. I'd be interested to know how much the Daniel Hertz tech shares with Crown and / or when it will trickle down.
Miles Davis KIND OF BLUE ~ PROCESSED USING NPDT PROCESS ~ now available for purchase
Here today, gone tomorrow.
Should a link to the gear. Where are the Ava speakers?
When are you going to review the
MBL 101 X-treme?
To be honest 1k got you pretty much nicely set up in the late seventies if you partly bought used gear.
However it was only analog back then.
1k in the 70s is 8k now

Pour moi c'est les enceintes ATC actives qui sont une référence
So curious about the Daniel Hertz amp with Klipsch Heresey IV’s which I have. Love Mark Levinsons products

Will you wish to play a sample of orchestral replay?
Can the Daniel Hz gear do rock? Slam and impact ?
Absolutely they can. For that type of music i HIGHLY recommend The DH Ambers. They will rock the house.
Can we here the talk that you had with Mark Levinson .? Was it recorded?
How do the Buchardt all in ones compare to these?
Those are in this video, and I talk at length about them! Thank you!
To my knowledge, companiet means company. Electro means things, that works with electricity. So, in total, a firm, that makes electronic stuff ;-) Electronic Company or Electro Company.
The French one is pronounced ComEt, with the emphasis on the letter e.
OUI !
ELEKTRO-COMP-AN-YET....old name
Kitchen? It’s the fridge…humming.
High prices for small two way bookshelf.... Well... 😅
Electrocompaniet is pronounced electrocompany 🎉😊
wow
Why does the thumbnail say the $6,500 monitor costs $27,000?
Because that’s the cost of the system they were a part of. The prices show system cost not speaker cost.
Can I come spend a week there? 😂
I believe the Second system is a DEAL ! I believe the proper pronunciation would be Electro Compan Eeyaay, I Think!!!😂
I think $10k+ loudspeaker manufacturers ban sound samples of their products in a “normal” room, and with comparing them to cheaper models. And I know why. Only a controlled environment with a professional stuff wearing an expensive suit
Correct pronunciation is: "come ett"
yep Comete is French for Comet, the last e is silent so just say as you would Comet in English
Please review the Schiit Yggdrasil

Try a pair of Adam A7V. Active, room correction, around $1200. I would get those over the emotiva
🎯👏👍🙏❤️
Dude has no idea what he's talking about.
Obviously just wanted to shop for some stuff and ended up at the audio department.
12 thousand for a pre amp 😅
