Wow you are a lovely human I’m so glad to have found your RUclips 🫶. I’m on a waitlist to be assessed for autisim and I am already diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia this video had some great recommendations and also lots of stuff I have already been utilizing!! I’ll definitely have to use some of these recommendations 😮
As someone who’s only been recently diagnosed with autism this past year at age 18, I think it’s cool to see an autistic adult speak about their own needs and experiences in a way that is really destigmatizing!
My husband bought me a weighted blanket before I knew I was autistic (self identified 4 years ago, diagnosed 2 months ago.) I put it in my closet after washing the cover because.. you know demand of having to put it back together. I pulled it out three weeks ago and I’ve been sleeping with it every night. Best thing ever. Headphones have been a staple for me doing errands for over a decade. Sunglasses in stores too. Gives that “don’t talk to me, don’t bother me” signal and dampens a lot of what overstimulates and overwhelms me. florescent lighting has always been difficult-I hear it buzz, I hear it flicker, it hurts my eyes, and it often triggers migraines or a fuzzy brain.
we love a weighted blanket and i really need to relax with mine today so thank you for reminding me 😋 and ooh saaame with headphones, haven' tried with sunglasses so i might tbh
@@StyleboyEsposito dark glasses are SO HELPFUL for florescent lightening. I actually had my last pair of eyeglasses tinted relatively dark for the same reason-most people just thought they were “transitions” that were overly sensitive/slow to respond. Some people do flash weird looks or rude comments, but whatever, I care more about my head and my eyes than a stranger! I have noticed it’s becoming more common to see other people doing the same. I keep the weighted blanket folded up at the foot at my bed. If things are put away, I forget they exist. But this way I can pull it up if I need it, otherwise I like the weight on my feet (restless leg syndrome.) ETA: I love that you reply to comments on old videos!
I have the same headset model (or at least from the same series, not sure if they are for example an earlier version - but they're in the same color, too). I bought them for working in an open floor plan office years before I found out about my autism, and they were one of my best investments ever. They are super good in blocking the noise, and also they have so great audio quality. They are awesome in airplanes, too.
I agree 100% about music! Though I did not know it could be considered a stim. I often listen to the same songs on repeat. That is definitely interesting. Regardless, music is awesome!
See same until recent but I find it so comforting to do that 😋 omg yess it is

I'm a recently diagnosed autistic girl and let me tell you!!! I love your vibe! 😻 We have plenty of things in common as well. Also, it's pretty funny that without knowing that I was autistic and prior to me deciding to get assisted by a professional, I liked plenty of the things you mentioned (like using noise-canceling headphones when being out of the house, weighed blankets, ambient lights and repeating a song I like for as much as I want to 😹). Anywho! Loved your content, you earned a new subscriber! ✨💖
I’m a french woman in the diagnosis process and I’m so glad I found your channel ! I gasped when I saw your t-shirt, I also have a vintage my little pony t-shirt that I loooooove and pink is also my confort color and I have everything you mention in the video down to the same alarm clock 😂 I feel so represented, thank you 💕
You can get weighted blanket at Walmart I got one for 5 pounds(I think) for 15$ I think idk they was really cheap for a weighted blanket tbh (or cheapest one I found) I had it for over a year and it still looks brand new Highly recommend
Very much so on the expensive side but I just got some Sony headphones and omg their noise cancelling and they couldn’t have helped me more over this las5 year 5hey are amazing
Lamps and warm lights I can’t stand bright lights I really only keep my tv on my overhead light and even my lamp are way to bright I would suggest to get light bulbs you can dim if you hate bright lights you can even find smart lights/light bulbs you can connect to an app or Alexa that you can change the colors of and or dim them
listening to people talk about their special interests >>>>
😍😍
I know right !? listening to someone being passionate of their interest is amazing ! :D

It's so amazing right, would recommend to everyone 😋
I got one for Christmas, it's so awesome and it feels weird to lay in bed with just a normal blanket now x3
Do they get hot ? Because I live in tropical climate and lately it can get too hot and humid to be comfortable.
That's a good song, thank you for introducing it to me.

Are the headphones comfortable after a couple minutes headphones start to make my ears hurt and they turn my ears bright red
they are yesss, but i do get why you get uncomfortable, that's why i think both are good to have, yes that means having more but it is also worth it
I found myself nodding my head affirmatively, delighted, & now subscribed. 💟🤍💕

ooooh see you already know 😋 they're amazing
How heavy does the blanket you have feel I thinking of getting one but don’t want to get a weight that’s too heavy
It feels like a weight but not that it's going to drag me down, more like a pressure like someone's giving me a hug 😋
You should get a weighted blanket that is between 5% and 12% of your body weight according to google
After seeing your island, mine feels pretty crusty 😳
🤣🤣🤣 naaah I bet yours is so cuuute
I love you ur da best!
And I agree my weighted blanket is a life savor
@@kittylynx8911 thank you 😋 and omg aren't they
