At the age of 90, some people might decide to slow things down. Not so Menahem Pressler. He made his debut with the Berliner Philharmoniker.

Berliner Philharmoniker In fact, it's more incredible that he can play so well when we learn later that he suffers of an aneurism rupture this day...

Наверное, только в таком возрасте, узнав о жизни все, можно ТАК сыграть Моцарта....

Pressler, Rattle and the Berlin Orchestra completely disappear and we are left alone with the terrible genius of Mozart.

What a profound comment, touches me very deeply...
Nevertheless isn't it through the simplicity and pure heart of the old pianist we are left alone in the arms of Mozart?

To think that most people don't even survive to live 90 years (life expectancy worldwide is around 72.5 years). And most people who live to reach the age of 90, do not have mental or/and physical capability to do anything like playing the piano. What i mean is that if you are 90 and you can give a public live piano concert, this can be considered a miracle. But, I don't consider Pressler to be in the same league with Horowitz and Rubinstein. Those 2 giants played the piano still in their 80s and they were still extremely good at what they were doing. Pressler is also good, but not at this level as those two.
