That is why this guy is a successful mechanic. Helps people, does his job honestly and with passion and doesnt rip people off of their hard earned money. Much respect.
Yup! I'm going to follow in his footsteps too, because I plan to become a mechanic and open up a shop soon in the near future. And I will never lie to a customer!
That is why I drive a 51 year old car (1964 Ford Fairlane 4 door sedan) This is a daily driver, not a show car or collector car. I drive it on a daily basis. I am a professional mechanic, and this car can be kept going forever. It has no electronics, and is very simple to work on. All parts, including engines and transmissions, are readily available. It currently burns a little oil, but I just pour more in. No emissions crap to worry about on this car. It was a factory non A/C car, and I installed an aftermarket underdash unit to make it driveable here in the AZ summer heat. I also added a 4 row radiator, so it never overheats. Unless it gets wrecked, I fully intend to drive this car for the rest of my life (I'm 56) I do have a low mileage 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis, but it rarely gets driven, other than on long trip. I'm a maintenance fanatic, and expect it to last at least 300,000 miles, which is likely longer than I will last. But Scotty is right about these modern FWD cars. They are mostly junk right off the new car lot, and not worth fixing when anything major goes wrong out of warranty. That's why I paid 1/3 the price of a new subcompact car for my Mercury, which did not include any sales tax or dealer fees or markups, because I bought it from a private seller. A brand new car is probably one of the worst purchases you can make. With the super high MSRP, destination charges, initial depreciation, sales tax, high registration fees, high dealer doc fees, and the need for full coverage insurance, which cost about 5 times what liability alone costs in my area, you are literally throwing away over half of what you pay for a new car.
+Jerry H I agree completely, I still have the same car I learned to drive in, back in 1988, my 1976 Dodge Aspen. No computers, nothing difficult or expensive to fix. I also have a 1986 Caprice Estate, and this is similar is simplicity and cheap to maintain. But nothing goes wrong with these cars. I bet people wish they would have kept them now in the age of 7,000 $ transmissions!
it's all in how the car was treated. sometimes you just get a lemon, but most car issues are caused by a lack of maintenance. I drive a 1986 cougar with 325k miles on it. I have had my share of problems with it, but I've basically only driven these cars since I was 16. I can fix most problems blindfolded. I had a fuel pump die, the clutch fan broke and a few little things here and there, but I usually take down time as a chance to upgrade the car. I added a 130 amp alt and electric fan when the stock fan broke. recently the map sensor and tps sensor went out, but it was less then $50 for both parts and my kitty is purring like a new car again. I haven't changed the oil in about 35k miles, but I've got a 85 gt block in the garage for when it goes.
Jerry H, I use to own Country singer Tammy Wynette Ford Fairlane 4 door. Car was in mint condition and less than 30,000 miles. I ran across someone who wanted it more than me. Big regret

Jerry H . hey Jerry I have a true story for you. In 1988 I had a 1984 toyota supra. And my girl friends mom had a late model Ford fairlane . with a straight six in it. It was a Kentucky car. I thought it was an old rust bucket. It leaked oil and everything. So one day my girl said I bet my car can beet yours. I lmfhd. Needless to say . that car tore me a new one. And I've been looking for one seance. Lmao.
my uncle is also a mechanic who tried to sell my his 03 Honda Civic Hybrid, knowing that it had battery problems. He told me that the car was fine and the repairs would be relatively cheap. Scotty, I've worked on cars all my life and just getting to the age now I don't want to do it anymore. I found a couple of guys that are always honest and charge a decent rate. They always let their customers know if it would be better to fix it themselves and would even borrow the tools to do it. This is why I have been going through all your videos and seeing what you are all about. You are the guy down the street that is honest, helpful and spot on with your suggestions. Wish more people in the world would follow your code. Thanks!
I don't know. but if you put it in a barn for a few decades and let rats build nests in it, people will be dragging it out and oooohing and aaahing at the amazing "barn find" they've discovered.
Scotty, I went Brake Masters here in Las Vegas and they wanted to charge 50$/wheel just to take off wheel locks! I went to discount tire and got it done for 35$ or so for all 4 wheels. I actually almost bought a Celica, but they lack horsepower... So I bought a car that looks very similar, my 99 Integra LS! Mechanics are a dime a dozen, but you are definitely an exception.
More good advice from Scotty. I'm a contractor, not a mechanic, but if you're honest and fair with people you'll never run out of work. It's about playing the long game. You can make a lot of money in the short term by cheating people, but they'll never call you back and certainly won't recommend you to friends!
Scotty, what vehicle could you recommend? I do refrigeration, HVAC-R, and home inspections. I was looking at the newer vans like the ford transit connect. your thoughts. or should I look elsewhere?
Scotty Kilmer I had to call it quits on my 1999 Camry. Engine was good but it needed an exhaust system and new gas tank. That's what really condemns Toyotas.
You're a good guy Scotty, i'm a new subscriber and find your videos very beneficial! Question: My truck all of a sudden tonight wont shift out of first, speedometer wont work and the ABS light came on. Any suggestions? Thank you for your time sir!
Been watching your videos for a few days and I'm really impressed. I've been fixing my own cars for the last 10 years through college and early careers because honest mechanics, as you put it are a dying breed. I have the same Autel scan tool and it does wonders for many cars, especially those German ones. I wish I had my own lift.... that I think we could both use haha. keep making those videos! from Bayonne, NJ...
There's old saying about VW's. When Volkswagen was small (back in the 60's) they were big. Then they started making bigger cars in the 70's...and they (not the cars) became small. :)
Thankyou for the honest advice ! I can't believe 175 people disliked this because you're a big help so for someone to go out of their way for a dislike is low
"I have lots of happy customers and i don't have to spend a nickel on advertising" yeah because you have 400,000 people watching you on RUclips every week lol.
Ok you have seen videos of him on his channel? Colin is even more crazy about making loud unusual engines. And other crazy stuff most men would enjoy. People are talking all the time about how Colins neighbors must hate him. But I think they get along pretty well.
U really remember me, my high school auto mechanic teacher, he used the same vocabulary, when talking about engines, and bad mechanics, he was a very honest man.
your 100% right.....gr8 video! its hard to find someone honest and that will tell u the truth......and its easier to sleep at nite when your upfront about things....lol
Eternal question, almost but it is refeshing to hear a mechanic talk about stuff most of us assume is clear cut : THANK YOU for talking about the things WE ALL ASSUME ARE CLEAR CUT, I like all your videos, AT 205, steel seal, engine worn out, car maintanance, From Canada thanks again Scotty!
I'd have though that patriotic 'muricans would buy foreign brands because almost all those cars are assembled with thousands of 'muricans on US soils whereas 'muricans car brands thanks to the fucked up Union are assembled in Mexico.
chrischoy9 its not about america or anything.. consumer wants best bang for the buck. if japanese or germans provide that, they would want that.. fords/GMs have to accept that with a grain of salt !
The VETTE hits hard ....sounds good. Great advice ......I do not allow my autos to get in disrepair. When I have a parts failure or what ever....I correct it and store that information in a car diary along with the mileage and date when the repair was made. If you take great care of your auto and keep it maintained as I do.... expect at least 20 years of service.
Boohoo! You think the deceased minds, that tombstone looks like it's 50 years old. What are you doing watching Scotty Kilmer If you're gonna whine like a baby? Grow up and stop being so offended and feeling sorry for yourself, precious snowflake.
the obvious answer is near new.get a minter three years old low mileage for age and go from there if you are one of those people who drives most of the time for work but might get the bus on other days on the used car market.you will be surprised at what is out there.
No matter how many years old your videos are they will always remain relevant. I know what your opinion on buying brand new is and have also seen your video about the oil dilution problem with the Honda "Earth Dreams Technology", but I still want to buy a brand new 2019 Honda Civic Si. I don't plan on running it into the ground with 300,000 miles. I'd probably try to get at least 150-200k miles and by then I'll probably just buy another new something else.
Scotty ,you are a righteous Dude. I started doing my own mechanic work for the same reason, to many sharks and not enough honest mechs. It's the same for just about anything really. I dont even go back for the first ' free service'. Too risky. I dont care if its a chainsaw, mower, whatever. Mostly the only mech you can trust to do the job right is you.
Well on the subject Scotty, I asked you once if I should replace my 99 Jeep Cherokee and you said yes. I did not, but my daughter made the decision for me by bouncing it off a couple barricades when she slipped on some black ice. No one was injured thankfully, but it was a total loss economically. Rest in piece good Jeep.
Totally agree here, but there is another way to look at a car and figure out if it is worth fixing or not. I call it the financial test. Say an average car payment is $350 a month. If you are getting close to that in repairs annually, it is time to start looking for a 'newer' car. I pay cash for my cars, but still use this as a standard (my car is a 2006 Saab 9-3 that has 131,000 and runs great, it has needed very little work ever - just a new suspension this past year which every car I have owned has needed after 110,000 miles since the roads in CT are so bad).
I had a 14 year old Focus hatchback I bought new and enjoyed driving. It had very little work done to it over the years and low miles for it's age ~110K. The engine was in great shape as was the manual transmission. It was way overdue for a timing belt, had a small oil pan leak, needed rotors/pads and the AC suddenly lost refrigerant. A rusted brake line blew and that was it for me. Some things I could fix but I know I would end up spending at least twice what the car was worth. Then I would have a 14 year old car with 99% original parts that would likely soon fail. It was time, I junked it and bought a 2 year old used car. No regrets and many new features.
I bought a 'new' 2006 Toyota Camry SE 3.3 liter V6 sedan, I maintained it expertly,, installed NGK Iridium IX plugs etc. etc. At 80k miles, I sold it to a mechanic for a generous $11k dollars in 2012. Sad, my subsequent new purchase of a 2013 Toyota Camry SE 4cyl. hasn't been as a good, other than getting much better gas mileage and handling better. That mechanic had been looking for some time, didn't even try to get me to reduce my asking price! I learned an important lesson, 'have an especially great car KEEP IT!'
You know, I actually did the exact same scenario for my own hobby. I didn't like companies that would sell expensive computers and charge seriously expensive upgrades for minor improvements. So I taught myself how to build computers. You're not a dying breed, tinkerers are going to always be rare. I'm commenting because it's nice to see another with a similar attitude about personal care for one's own machines. Be they car or computers.
Hey Scotty ! Thanks for the great information and excellent videos. I have a 97 v6 Accord with auto transmission @255,000miles and I hope to get a few years out of it. Keep up the good work!
I've had this dilemma a few times with my 95 Lexus LS. I've put a few thousand in to keep it fixed (power steering system, rear differential, etc) and finally made the choice to stick with it. Like your Celica, mine's at almost 250,000 and still runs strong, and i only bought her originally for $1700 anyway.
Scotty, I own a 1979 GMC C-1500 and a 1990 Ford Ranger, both 300,000+. With what a new or used truck costs these days, I'd rather fix my own than buy new. No winter salt, nor cinders to scratch paint, the bodies are always in good shape and the drive train is fixable by me. They run great, the parts are relatively inexpensive, and the insurance cheap. I've only owned ONE new truck - a Toyota pickup (1994), and it was OK until a girl hit me and totaled it. I was upside down on the truck loan, so I had to pay the difference. No more truck loans for me. I'll run the two trucks until the doors fall off. Got a 350 Cu In for the GMC in the shop all set up for when the one in the GMC dies. Thanks for some of the tips my Uncle didn't teach me!
It's always nice to find a good mechanic that is honest there's a garage in my town the guy is a joke I toke my car to him once since I was buying it off him the motor mounts needed done he goes ill replace them for free 90 bucks later I ended up doing them since he never replaced them now I work out of my home fixing everyones cars around the area it feels good since cars are a passion of mine and only being 23 with all the knowledge I have now I can't wait 20 years from now and learn even more
You are to mechanics as I am a computer tech, Most of my customers are poor or return for upgrade and service, and while that might not be fancy I can say it's a pleasure of helping people. I'll build whatever a customer asks for, but not everyone needs a new i7 and in many situations that i7 might actually hurt the customer financially and performance for the task. I've always believed honesty is the best policy, even when it has cost me. I totally agree word of mouth works!
After several 300 dollar + repairs on my 2000 Caravan, I decided that having monthly payments worth of repairs was not worth it. Went with a 2018 Elantra (in manual!). I love it
Preach, you make a difference in the feald. I do agree, I work on vacuum cleaners and I refuse to rip people off, And my customers have spread the word about my service 😀
I have a 1997 dodge grand caravan and it has a 3.3 liter v6 engine in it and it does not have problems at all. it only needed a fuel pump replacement and it still runs great. just keeping up the maintenance will always let the car go forever
I am grateful for my local honest mechanic. I got rid of my beloved and hated cummins last week and went back to spark plugs. Mechanic I trust said the 15 and newer 5.3 chevys are fixed according to the jasper rep so I got a 2016 Silverado. Hope it was a good move. Miss that 5.9 cummins but sick of front end issues
Scotty Kilmer I would have looked at the fords but I've had 2 friends bust holes in their aluminum beds. I was torn between Silverado and Tundra. Wish I would of got the American made tundra but they were much more expensive
Thanks and appreciate your videos. I like the way your videos are, fast, easy, and cut the nonsense. You explained very well and learn more from you than other videos in here.
Scotty what is your opinion on these two cars : 1) 2005 BMW 325XI 179 K miles 2) 1996 oldsmobile cutlass ciara 3.1 6 cyl 114k miles is the oldsmobile more reliable?
Thanks for all the great advice Scotty I was going to buy a Mercedes SLK but after watch your video on Mercs being money pits I decided to keep my old Mazda or maybe buy a Mazda MX5 instead. Funny thing is when I was a young boy more than 30 years ago Mercs were known for their quality. Now it seems that they are just a rip off. Keep the videos coming mate they are awesome.
Loved this video! I used to drive a 2002 Jaguar X-Type that I loved, but it was just such a pain in the wallet. When it finally kicked the bucket (it got totalled off), I bought a 2009 Colbalt XFE with manual transmission for $3,500 & haven't had a single issue since (knock on wood)!
My mechanics in my home town where I grew up were always honest with me. My 1988 Cadillac Brougham I've owned for 10 years, they were originally advising me to give up on it, but I was the one who decided to be stubborn and help make them rich! Because I loved that car! A car that i've seen roll over, the guy I purchased it from seen roll over who didn't own it that long, and with its age I'm sure it rolled over one or two more times! My one mechanic gave me the nickname ching-ching because I was always coming there with problems to the tune of over $12,000 in repairs! Including every small wearable part it has, plus had to replace the engine with a used oldsmobile 350 from a 1975 Delta 88 I got cheap. (expensive to install) Also had the transmission rebuilt before that! Even with all this money it's no show car either. It's doing very well for a 30 year old car mind you still! but looks the part of a 10 year old used car. Not bad for 30 I suppose.....
Some newer vehicles have loose tolerances to reduce friction to increase MPG ratings! Yes they are designed like a worn out engine! My daughter purchased one! She had to add oil every week and took it back to the dealer! They said they could not find problem? I did some research and found that if you went from 00W-20 motor oil to 00w-30 motor oil the consumption stopped! However the dealer would never tell her that! James
I have seen your vids on how to find an honest mechanic, but still cant/ I know my cars very well and what happens is the mechanics have my car and they lie to me about what has happened and they had to replace this and that and you know 100% its not true. They have your car so there is nothing you can do. They got you,,, I HATE IT,,
Scotty you read my mind. I am getting tired of fixing my car already and I have asked myself the same question for the last month. My car is a 2005 Honda Accord V6 and Here's what's wrong with it: -Windshield wipers go crazy hitting the sides hard when on. -windshield all scratched up. -front driver side tire is wearing on the outside, i think its the shock absorber. - consuming gas like a v8 truck. About 16mpg city -it might need new inner tie rods. -a couple of not serious oil leaks -I smell smoke from the exhaust if I turn off the ac internal circulation. -there is a white or silver dust accumulation on the front center ac vent. -paint fading in some spots. I try to do most repairs myself to save money and to do it right, but it takes a lot of my time. IS MY CAR A GONER?

It's that natural survival instinct. More money=secure future
+Zorba Zen ehh, I don't think a mechanic of 45+ years would succumb to "peer pressure" all of a sudden.
More mechanics should be like scotty! Keep up the good work!

That is the issue with Toyota's.. I'd only care to drive a Celica, or perhaps a Hiace for a van..
I have 2002 celica gts with 331k miles and the engine still runs like new. heck, the entire car runs like new

I know when to buy a new(er) car .. I open my wallet and look in. Nope, this junker has to go a few more years (hopefully.)
good one!
Ramon Preston hahahah..nice one
Funny but still sort of sad because its true
but if u can't find a guy like me....welp...here I am on the internet lol that made me laugh. this guy is great

This video had like infinite truth. Not just about the mechanics, but life in general! Scotty, I'm sure you're hands down the best Mechanic!
Your a legend Scotty. Love your vids and your persona !
If you like my car help, be sure to watch my live car talk show every Saturday morning at 10 AM CST on RUclips. I answer your car questions LIVE there. Just check it out at How To Ask A Live Mechanic Car Questions Free On RUclips . Scotty Kilmer
hi just wondering you're oppinion on the 2015 volvo s80 d4
I wish I had a mechanic like Scotty....you don't find people like that much nowadays.
This is why I love this guy's channel. Very honest and has commen sense. It would be fun to hang out with Scotty at a local cruise in.
Thanks scotty! You John-Lennon-Looking genius you!
imagine..
Tommy vance tribute act. .
next time my car needs fixing, ill ship it from the uk over to you :D need a mechanic like you over here haha
+Ben Murphy And you'll pay for shipping more then car worth.
Thanks!
I just bought a 98 civic for $750 and parts are dirt cheap lol
A new engine isnt..
ThexXxXxOLOxXxXx you can rebuild the top end for under $400
***** civic gets 37 mpg and isnt junk.
***** Last time I checked Junk wasn't reliable, easy to fix and easy to repair.
***** Torque steer in a 106hp civic? Have you ever driven a car? It has plenty of power for commuter. No problem driving 70 on the highway.
If only I could find a mechanic like you in Edinburgh, Scotland.
I could not say it better! You are the man Scotty, keep it up!
Skotty Your a Blessing on this World A big Blessing God Bless you and give u Health and all u want !
Elliot J Vidal i
He didn't mention old cars, because when you own an old car, it doesn't need to be replaced.
Every car owner needs someone like SK when it comes to honest work and honest advice.
you should restore that chrylser. it'll be a classic one day.
chieftp what model was it?
Get an older 7.3 E350 Power Stroke - Those turbo diesels are badass, reliable, and the vans definitely get the job done.
Thanks for the information cloverof4. At least with diesels one can run bio diesel.
Ya diesel will last you a long time wont need to replace the motor for a long time
Your a good man Scotty !
When would suggest getting the engine or transmission on the car? Rather than junking it?
when it's a really good long lasting car like a toyota, but rarely do the engines or trannies go out in them, unless flooded out
Scotty Kilmer I had to call it quits on my 1999 Camry. Engine was good but it needed an exhaust system and new gas tank. That's what really condemns Toyotas.
Your the man Scotty. Your channel has talked me away from a 04 AMG W211. Keep up that honest work.
You make my day.
Glad to hear it, thanks for the support!
tool box tour please
I've just spent several hours viewing this guy; time of my life I can't get back and it was well worth it.
thank you so much for your work, you are a GOOD man!
You're a good guy Scotty, i'm a new subscriber and find your videos very beneficial! Question: My truck all of a sudden tonight wont shift out of first, speedometer wont work and the ABS light came on. Any suggestions? Thank you for your time sir!
it's fucked
Probably a wheel speed sensor
Probably needs new blinker fluid
Been watching your videos for a few days and I'm really impressed. I've been fixing my own cars for the last 10 years through college and early careers because honest mechanics, as you put it are a dying breed. I have the same Autel scan tool and it does wonders for many cars, especially those German ones. I wish I had my own lift.... that I think we could both use haha. keep making those videos! from Bayonne, NJ...
What about VW? They start to burn oil once you drive it out of new car storage
There's old saying about VW's. When Volkswagen was small (back in the 60's) they were big. Then they started making bigger cars in the 70's...and they (not the cars) became small. :)
Great videos and quite a cool guy....Very useful information.
Thankyou for the honest advice ! I can't believe 175 people disliked this because you're a big help so for someone to go out of their way for a dislike is low
Big fan of yours. Keep the videos up so I can watch new ones :D
"I have lots of happy customers and i don't have to spend a nickel on advertising"
yeah because you have 400,000 people watching you on RUclips every week lol.
It's now actually more than a million each week
I'm actually honored you replied to my comment! love your videos man!
Probably could solely live on youtube-ads already!
he actually have followers because he is clear, knowledgeable and the TELLS THE TRUTH!!! if this guy was in my town i would take my car to him ONLY.
rkan2 not probably more like he can! With the amount of views he gets on his videos this channel is raking in the big bucks.
Amen Scotty that's the main reason I quit a few dealerships around. I don't see how some people can sleep at night.
When the idiot light comes on the dash that says 'Sell the car' , you need to sell your car.
ah yes, the rip light
could be as simple as a loose fual cap
duckmanjoel humor??
I've had a check engine light on for 11.5 years.. it ain't that big of a deal
Kinetis My CEL harassed me about a fuel cap that somehow came sightly unsealed. No alert about the mild misfire from the vacuum leak though.
SCOTTY, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO SELL ME THE CELICA?
Never!
Scotty Kilmer hello Scotty what is the name of this machine you checking with if all the electronics in the car working good?
Scotty, I love your pride and attitude. It is refreshing.
to me
an honest mechanic is NOT gonna suggests anything else to be worked unless instructed to do so but will however show you any flaws he finds
i bet his neighbors hate him...
Look up Colin Furze on youtube.
SE45CX why...
Ok you have seen videos of him on his channel? Colin is even more crazy about making loud unusual engines. And other crazy stuff most men would enjoy. People are talking all the time about how Colins neighbors must hate him. But I think they get along pretty well.
SE45CX ohhhh gotcha
Neighbors HATE him!!! Find out how this mechanic sold his car fast with 1 easy trick...
U really remember me, my high school auto mechanic teacher, he used the same vocabulary, when talking about engines, and bad mechanics, he was a very honest man.
Scotty, I wish you were my mechanic...
your 100% right.....gr8 video! its hard to find someone honest and that will tell u the truth......and its easier to sleep at nite when your upfront about things....lol
The dislikes must be piece of shit mechanics!!!
buy honda or toyota. you never have to worry about a thing
lexus is your best bet
Toyota Eh nahhh and honda ya they are a dam good brand even though i like american brands because murica 🇺🇸
WeKnowTheTruth2012 lexus is very expensive. toyota high model is almost lexus with lesser price. good for me
The VETTE hits hard ....sounds good.
Great advice ......I do not allow my autos to get in disrepair. When I have a parts failure or what ever....I correct it and store that information in a car diary along with the mileage and date when the repair was made.
If you take great care of your auto and keep it maintained as I do.... expect at least 20 years of service.
Wow super classy dude , use a grave site and tombstone of a deceased as a prop . Good job kilmer!
we all end up there, just a Fact. But if you don't like sardonic humor, stay far away from me.
Dude your awesome. Watched a couple of your videos and you appear trust worthy. Your my new virtual mechanic.
This man is good I've been looking at a lot of videos of his. Wish their were more people like him!
I really appreciate your honesty, I wish there was more guys like you.👍🏼
Well on the subject Scotty, I asked you once if I should replace my 99 Jeep Cherokee and you said yes. I did not, but my daughter made the decision for me by bouncing it off a couple barricades when she slipped on some black ice. No one was injured thankfully, but it was a total loss economically. Rest in piece good Jeep.
I love your channel, straight up no bullshit honesty. I bet the big car manufacturers hate your guts!
I've got a 2008 Tacoma with 310,000 miles and it runs like a dream. Toyota's run forever!
2012 Grand Caravan 90000 miles perfect, bought it new and love it.
I own a 1999 Toyota 4Runner with 325k miles on it. Runs extremely well everything works on the damn thing!
Be they car or computers.
honesty is the best policy .great work scotty.
Hey Scotty ! Thanks for the great information and excellent videos. I have a 97 v6 Accord with auto transmission @255,000miles and I hope to get a few years out of it. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for advising to look for an honest guy. I have to help my sister with her car. Shops have not done work they have charged for.
Scotty,
I own a 1979 GMC C-1500 and a 1990 Ford Ranger, both 300,000+.
You are great Scotty, it is sad that we do not have your kind here in Europe.
+Mayhan Amin Watch your transmission, and change the fluid every 24k. They're very delicate!
Miss that 5.9 cummins but sick of front end issues
pray he's right, cause I would have gone F 150 myself
Scotty Kilmer I would have looked at the fords but I've had 2 friends bust holes in their aluminum beds. I was torn between Silverado and Tundra. Wish I would of got the American made tundra but they were much more expensive
man we need more people like you this days
Thanks and appreciate your videos. I like the way your videos are, fast, easy, and cut the nonsense. You explained very well and learn more from you than other videos in here.
Scotty what is your opinion on these two cars :
1) 2005 BMW 325XI 179 K miles
2) 1996 oldsmobile cutlass ciara 3.1 6 cyl 114k miles
is the oldsmobile more reliable?
Being honest means people will trust you and proves you have integrity.
The new 2018 and 2019 model of cars have super cool futuristic interiors.
(expensive to install)
Also had the transmission rebuilt before that!
Even with all this money it's no show car either. It's doing very well for a 30 year old car mind you still! but looks the part of a 10 year old used car.
Not bad for 30 I suppose.....
Scotty your one cool guy. Thanks for your videos, I do learn something new and your personality is up beat.
James
I never thought steve perry would end up as a mechanic after arnel penida replaced him! Thanks for d videos steve it helped a lot!god bless
Scotty, There are NOT, I repeat NOT honest mechanics. You are and I started do my own work too just like you.
Well, you are talking to one now. My grandfather was also one, but yes, they are rather few and far between these days
My car is a 2005 Honda Accord V6 and Here's what's wrong with it:
-Windshield wipers go crazy hitting the sides hard when on.
-windshield all scratched up.
-front driver side tire is wearing on the outside, i think its the shock absorber.
- consuming gas like a v8 truck. About 16mpg city
-it might need new inner tie rods.
-a couple of not serious oil leaks
-I smell smoke from the exhaust if I turn off the ac internal circulation.
-there is a white or silver dust accumulation on the front center ac vent.
-paint fading in some spots.
I try to do most repairs myself to save money and to do it right, but it takes a lot of my time. IS MY CAR A GONER?
Should I keep it or rid of it.
2002 Accord v6 170,000
-Rear Seal Leak
-Oil Pump Leak
-Valve Cover Gasket Leak
-Oil Pan Lean
-Rack & Pinion
Wish all mechanics were like you. Love your videos.
I wish I lived near Scotty, and had the privilege of having him as my mechanic.
