I just wanted to mention I absolutely admire you man! You're the reason why I got into civilization 6 and rimworld and made me realized how much I love strategy games!
The in-game messages you get, on the left side of the screen, are just hilarious: "bolgar reports they've seen the light of day for the first time, quick, let's send'em back" or "iason99 stole some resources, disguised as a goose". The dev's sense of humor is amazing.
Wow this is an awesome looking game! I’m a solo indie dev working on my first game and it gives me a whole new appreciation for a game like this - looks good, awesome UI, narration etc. Awesome job by these developers. And so awesome to see a big RUclipsr picking them up and giving them the publicity they deserve!
Oh man. You should go to /r/universim/, /r/TheUniversim/ and other places to read the ten years of development of this game. It has been a rollercoaster....
Hey, just a tip. Don't put music into your game that gets copyright struck when people make RUclips videos of your game. That's a truly rediculous move.
awe nevermind haha, I see in the video some spots got muted... FWIW - I've had issue with that too... even if I have the rights. I don't know how it works exactly, but RUclips can pick up the name of songs/music... and then see if it needs a copyright etc... The publisher can challenge the copyright and show proof they have the rights... but obviously if you're just recording a game your playing... you don't have the rights (the devs should). But a lot of times free audio has a copy right but is free w/ a creditation. So a lot of my videos I'll put at the end "Sounds by Zapsplat" or something like that, which is what that site require. And in game I have a credits menu to give everyone the proper credit (that they deserve!). So all for that just to say, it is possible the devs have all of the approriate rights... but RUclips just might not know that so it flags it... just a possiblity at least!@@MrTuneslol
@@DCJGaming yeah that's a fair shout, who knows when it comes to RUclips sometimes lol 🤷♂️ I wonder if it would be worth it to only include original music, could that potentially solve or mitigate the problem?
That narrator when Quill accepted the "Book of Love" quest, was absolutely savage. Straight up calling the player a virgin 😂 "I didn't think you knew anything about reproduction creator." Stanley Parable-style narrator for the win!
@lotanowo Seeing someone take time out of their day to insult a complete stranger for sharing a comment relating to a component of the video that made them laugh, just highlights the insulter's own inadequacies. Get some help, friend, and have a great 2024.
@@Taterazay95 Beauty and the Beast remake is an objectively bad movie, and there's nothing insulting in pointing out that objective truth. 2:15 Twitch Hype Trains currently have a limit of lvl 55. If you reach this level, the timer stops resetting, but you can still collect percentage points for these 5 minutes. Current Record as of yesterday is held by Admiral Bahroo with lvl 55 + 1603% reached in under 20 minutes. 5 Minutes before this record, the old record was already broken by PirateSoftware with lvl 55 and 1397%. PirateSoftware held the record before, brok their own record and then lost to Bahroo. Both Hype Trains started at the same time and i was there ^^
I love those kind of games. The twitch integration is fun. Bought this one long time ago to help the developement. Now I'm waiting the 1.0.0 inital relase to play the full game.
My many years of subscription to Quill is always validated when he opens a massive tech tree and lights up with delight at the same time I do. Now THAT'S the TRUGAMER(tm) that I want to watch!!!
1:11:02 seems the audio cut out here? Not sure if its a mute from twitch/youtube or an audio error… didnt seem to work changing qualities either :) Edit: audio back at 1:14:30
I funded this game on Kickstarter. It was the first project I ever funded, and it was 2014... With planned release in 2016 It was one of the reason which made me decide that using Kickstarter is bad idea
I bought this game in a whim during the steam Christmas sale. I've been playing it almost exclusively. It's awesome. A few minor complaints are that some of the mechanics don't seem to be explained all that well and the wiki doesn't provide much info(unless I went to the wrong one). I still don't quite understand how to increase the temple output. It started out maxed but then tanked and I still haven't been able to get it back up past the half way point. The game instructs you to use powers at the start, yet doesnt tell you how(by holding control) I also find it a bit weird with how they have the tech tree(electricity to reach the medieval age?). But it's not suppose to be our universe so it's not a huge deal.
This game spends a lot of effort on making its UI fancy and not a lot on making it clear and readable. Little animation touches can help draw your eye where it needs to be, but sometimes less is more.
There is something endearing about that to me. Reminds me of buying a random PC game based on the (HUGE) box-art from a Costco that I've never heard of before and just installing it and seeing what is going on. Then usually discovering there's a reason Ive never heard of this game but then still spending like 5 hours exploring everything and trying to figure out what the hell is going on! I do think there's some improvements but I don't see it as a glaring issue. This UI in particular reminds me of so many management-genre games of 2001-2009 like SimCity Societies.
Universim took Twitch play over game play. Bought it years ago, threw a fair amount of hours into it but I don't feel like it's a complete game yet, unfortunately. Loved Black and White ages ago but this isn't it.
@@Arkandos42 Probably not? But there is a button in the lower left, just above the build button that lets you access all the powers using the same style menu as the buildings.
I recently played the Fox experiment board game. The instructions feel daunting but its because it goes into insane minute detail. Gameplay is fairly straight forward and surprisingly simple. Yet the depth is amazing. Its one of those, easy to learn, spend time to strategize. Very replayable.
I think i'd love this game.... IF ONLY THE KIND OLD VOICEOVER MAN WENT AWAY. He started getting on my nerves at about fifth minute mark. At minute ten i hated him with a power of thousand supernovas. Is it possible to replace him with subtitles?
30 mins in to the video, i feel like there is just too much of waiting for something to happen or do, maybe it gets better as you unlock more stuff later, cant watch the whole thing right now
Twitch integration does not a great game make. If you want a Crytivo game try Force of Nature 2. It doesn't have the fancy voice over, but a fun game doesn't need one.
After purchasing and playing this crap for an hour I had to stop and write a review. While the game plays well and the UI is clean and easy to use, the story is completely bonkers (how can the player be the creator who creates the first nuggets (people) yet the story is talking about things the creator never created or heard about, and should not yet exist? And... e,i, JOE? Joe WHO? Who the hell is JOE? Furthermore, the interaction between the player and the so called nuggets is absurd, poorly executed and the devs of this game must have been smoking wacky weed to not see how inconsistent their story telling is, forcing the creator (me, the paying customer) to roll their eyes into the back of their head relentlessly from the idiotic story telling that makes absolutely no sense, compared to what the player is experiencing... I am really disappointed. I wanted this game to be awesome, but it's ... NOT! It's really, really NOT!!! Want a good God game? Try Godus or Spore or anyone of a dozen other games that don't make the user cringe and want to rage quit out of existence!
There will be parts of this video with muted audio, because as it turns out the in-game music gets MEGA copyright-flagged on RUclips. :(
I can’t even hear the music. So lame…
thanks, i was wondering why there's no audio
Why were the software job thing videos pulled?
:(
thanks for the heads up

The idea that God was constantly fighting off UFOs as we developed is actually hilarious
I LOVE this game. I'd love to see more.
Thanks for reminding me about this game. Bought it back in 2018 and your video jogged my memory and reinstalled it.
IM SO GLAD YOUR PICKING THIS UPP!!!
bro I've been watching this game for over a decade now. It's been around for a long time in early access.
The Universim is already in your Steam library (Purchased 12 Jan, 2019)
It's one of those. Buy for what it is now and not what it will never become.
Yep they keep trying to promote this. Spoiler alert: It's a stinker.
Ah yep, purchased Sept 7th 2018 here. Looks a bit more polished now, but ultimately not enough progress to justify reinstalling yet.
