      Great question.
      I don't believe is borth related. It was a super positive birth experience.
      At the moment I know it has to due with persuing with breastfeeding and since I struggled with this first time being a mom I believe now is a major trigger this time arround.
      I have faith I shall overcome this 🙌

    • @HypnobirthingWithAnja
      @HypnobirthingWithAnja  2 года назад

      @@footsoldier508 hi! I can totally understand why you would be worrying about your baby's breathing and constantly feeling that you need to check on him but you can't carry on like that because it will be absolutely exhausting for you. Sometimes, obsessive checking of your baby can be linked to postpartum depression symptoms or post-traumatic stress disorder. You may not have either of these but I want you to be ok and like you said, be able to enjoy your time with your baby now he's home. I would advise that you speak to your doctor or a counselor about how are feeling right now. You may benefit from some therapeutic techniques to help you. Even though my daughter wasn't in NICU after she was born, the first few weeks, I wanted to check on her in the Moses basket and when she was very quiet I would worry that something was wrong. We have such strong maternal instincts to protect our children. It really helped me to say certain mantras to myself in my head. That allowed me to switch off and relax a bit more so I could sleep and/or do other things without constant baby checking. "My baby is safe and well" "My baby's heartbeat is strong" "My baby will cry if she needs me" "It's ok for me to relax into this". I had a little girl, you have a boy so you can change the affirmations to HE. The more time that goes by, the more I think you'll be able to relax. However, if you think you would benefit from more support and guidance, I would let others know how you are feeling and get help to reduce the OCD you are experiencing so it doesn't take over your daily life. I hope that helps honey 💝

      Hi Hannah, thanks so much for your message. It is very very normal to feel how you are feeling, getting used to life with a little baby is hard and can be overwhelming at first. Take things one day at a time. You have only just given birth! The first 6 weeks are the hardest, it's all about settling in to a completely new way of life. But as your baby grows and you get used to everything, you will be able to get out and about and do many of the things you did before you had a baby. Things may be different and need more planning but try not to think too far ahead, be in the moment and take it easy. Every mother feels the same! I can assure you. Xxxxx

      @@HypnobirthingWithAnja A) Don't make assumptions. B) Whatever someone is experiencing it is OK! C) Don't put strength in connecting with other mothers especially because other mothers often don't get what postpartum mothers are going through. D) Strength comes from breathing and taking it moment by moment. Let yourself relax through the pain and rage, accept that these are just emotions. Emotions will change. Like rain on a Duck, The Duck is not the rain, the emotions will dry off, and the duck will remain.
      E) it's okay to feel or be alone. Solitude is the temple of the soul. In solitude l there is no judgement if we stop judging ourselves.
      F) let go of judgement. Accept yourself even if what you are feeling feels crazy and horrible. We do not have to act on the emotions we're feeling. Just notice how we are feeling.
      Basic psychology stuff.
