- It's late August and I'm out on a solo camp in the woods with the DD XL hammock. Cook steak and relaxed with nature. It was a rough nights sleep but worth it in the end.

i honestly thought that steak was going to end up on the ground when you tried to turn it over the first time, lol. Them cheap mats always end up going down for me, you can get a thin exped that works great with hammocks, the only exped that has ever let me down is the one with the foot pump built in, the others i have had inflated for weeks and still as inflated at the end as when i inflated them.
Lol yeah it's a matter of time before my food will end up on the floor with that pan. Iv got a xped blow up mat that I used on a camp the other day but that has also gone down, 'editing video' I will have a look for the thin mat, or maybe I'll just use the thermorest foam mat for the hammock next time. 👍
@@RickallsBushcraft01 you have the dutch army hooped bivvy, you can buy the specific closed cell foam mat for that, its extra thick, but fits nicely in a hammock.
