Nothing comes close to the atmosphere of AC2...

- I've played a lot of games in my life, but no game has as good an atmosphere as Assassin's Creed 2.
Everything is just right in this game - even if the game is now 15 years old...
I don't know if we'll ever have a game like this again...

This game is amazing, I've done at least one playthrough a year since I first played it when i was 12 and it never ages.
And the atmosphere, specially the Florence one, is simply magical, i always have it in my computer in case i have a lot of anxiety or stuff in my head and it simply goes away the time i start walking around or climbing alongside that exquisite soundtrack.

That’s something the new assassins creed games are all missing, background music. And not just background music, but music that you remember years later after playing the game.

I think AC1 atmosphere is far superior. Even if AC2 atmosphere its one of the best.

I completely agree, I have thought about this for so long and I was never able to put my finger on it, I've played almost every AC there is but AC2 had this... special effect on me whenever I played, even when I played it years ago for the very first time, it was indeed a masterpiece, I still love it till today.

The atmosphere is even better on the og ps3/xbox 360 disc because jt gives the world kind of like this almost dreamlike feel with the blur and depth of field effects

Ac 2 for me always felt alot more creepier compared to brotherhood, brotherhood's atmosphere feels alot more joyful while ac 2's feels eerie
I love the atmosphere of AC 2 AC Brotherhood or even Revelations, and I think it is about music, sounds of streets, art style. the details like herold speeches, People speaking with native language ext. With AC3 all of it was gone practically.

this game is legendary ,but for me Assassin's creed Mirage atmosphere is very underrated, this game reminds me the Ezio trilogy, the crowd that screams when you commit murder in public, the city made for the parkour, the wanted posters... I don't know why everyone hate this game.

Assassin's Creed II has been my favorite game ever since I fist played it. The atmosphere in this game is just so magical, the soundtrack, the cities, the characters, the story, the gameplay, the colors...

The only thing thats missing from AC2 is mission replay. I have played AC Ezio games many times just for the vibe. Specially going around in Firenze and Venezia is my favorite thing to do. The ambience and music its just magical. Makes me feel as if I'm there. If they keep the core of Ezio games and remake them along with this music it will shine even more. I even collected 100 feathers because i just love going around. Both brotherhood and revelation have good city and music.
My 2nd take will be black flag because even though i like pyramids, I'm dont really like big desserts. While i like sea. So BF is just great. Sailing the ship is great. Also there's 4 different times of the day we can select from morning to night and all looks great. Its remake will be fun if they make great fully explorable reefs.

@@MisterAlpha444not having replay ability is really stupid imo. And can we make profile in these new rpg games as we used to back then?
In AC2 i can always make new profile to just play story missions or missions I want to play. While whenever feel like just roaming and chilling I can switch to my 100% profile. In fact I did this in all AC games until Unity. Being able to create 3 ingame profile was great. Can invite friend to play where he can make profile so it doesn't clash with yours. Now if you let someone else play 2-3 hours it's a big loss for you.
And rpg games are 100 hours. Do they seriously expect us to go through all the grinding, level up and crafting just to play 2-3 of your favorite missions or fights.

It's true that AC2 has an amazing atmosphere. Personally, I don't think it's the best of all the times, because for me there are other games who are better in that, like RDR2, but AC 2 is still amazing, and my favourite in the whole saga, even if it passed almost 20 years since it was launched (man, we are getting old...)

@@worldstereo1100 I think AC Origins and Black Flag did a great job with the atmosphere too 💪 but nothing comes close AC2.
@@MisterAlpha444 It's true, the sea of Black Flag and the desert of Origins are amazing, but nothing can beat the views of Venice or the music and parkour in Florence.

It's strange, but I don't like white robes for Assassins. In all ac games I pick the outfits that have the darkest colors, but sadly in ac Valhalla my charachter has a white cape because it has better stats than the others in my inventory

I own both version of this game....the original one (xbox 360 black edition) and the remastered one (ps4 pro)
And i gotta say...i prefer the original version cause, every city have different tone, like every, and the face models are also better. I play it on a 4k tv, on 720p, and it looks amazing. It's from 2009, but it looks too good
I'm replaying the game....i'm at sequence 12...it's kind if forced...not that i have problem with fighting dozens of soldiers in the game but....when i complete one mission...the other one starts right away and i can hit only accept, no decline or anything, wich is weird, but i still enjoy the game, and i also love the story...but i noticed that after we kill Jacopo...the game story gets boring...i wished that francesco would have lived longer and that we would have more missions with Mario. Francesco is almost the same as Cesare but Cesare was annoying, and its not a character that i love to hate, its a character that i hate to hate
@@justaguy751 I know what you mean but I like the remasteree version more - it looks much better than the original version and I am playing it on my 4K OLED TV on PS5. Looks like a complete different game...
The only thing that ruins the original is that I got my saves corrupted twice because of a bug, so now I play the remastered without daring to make a serious save on the original.
Assassin's creed lost its soul after revelations, coincidentally after they removed Kyd and along with him all the atmospheric music from the games. AC3 had no freeroam music and Unity could've really benefitted from having Jesper Kyd, instead the game is completely silent during freeroam.

It's too bad the damn pc port sucks. All the controls for the controllers on pc are broken. It's unplayable for me. For some reason the triggers control where to look around and it was inverted, so yea. Unplayable. Still good game though

@MisterAlpha444 actually just 20 minutes ago I rebooted it and frustratingly enough you can add games to steam that you haven't bought from steam and that enables you to edit controller controls. So I actually got it working today lmao

@@deadroses19 it's not only that. If we talk about facts RDR2 is the better game (soundtrack of RDR1 is better) but I also like the pacing in RDR1 more.
