Larry, great recipe, i like my taters crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside so do not feel bad, you can get em' both ways in the same pan as mrs. Wolfie wants if you cook em' right. I guess the fire disc is our version of the asian wok, it is pretty cool, i like it. Sold in stores or just online ?, might get one. Taters= crisp yours up to the way you like them, like me, and remove to a bowl. Put mrs. Wolfie's in with the veggies to cook soft and at the very end after your beef is done, just warm yours up on one side of the pan and scoop hers to the other, wa-la everybodys happy, lol, it works, i do this type of cooking in a pan for me and wifey and not just taters.
Are you able to refer me to a page that would have a list of foods that are okay to eat with high cholesterol and high bp? Im in my mid 30's, the doc says my bad cholesterol is quite high, and that im too young for a cholesterol pill. but its so hard trying to learn whats good or bad, and reading every label while shopping is just too tough and time consuming. This especially sucks, because it's summertime, and grilling sausages, beef dogs, and burgers on the grill is what I usually do. I still have been, but not nearly as often. Been trying to eat more turkey and ham over beef, wheat instead of white, olive oil based spread instead of butter, oil and vinegar based dressings instead of ranch.l, etc etc. Anyhow, I just wish I could find a straight forward simple list of specific foods. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Wolfe!
I love wolfpit. Anyone else would've lied through their teeth for their sponsors. Wolfpit gave us a true review of the fire disc and we should all respect that!
Wolfepit hasn't always been so conscientious about his sponsorships, but for the past couple years he's been doing it right. There was that one pellet smoker vid, IIRC, where people rightfully gave him shit, but since then he's kept honest and upfront about any sponsorships. Overall, he's doing pretty good. Not perfect, but pretty good.
This looks awesome! I usually cheat by buying a can of corned beef and just add potatoes and onion to it. When the alcohol poisoning wears off, i'm gonna try your recipe!
Most of your recipes are interchangeable as far as meat and starches. Rice for pasta or potatoes or chicken for ground meat, etc. That’s why they’re so awesome! We can use whatever we have on hand. Makes a budget stretch and adds variety for your family.
Growing up with my mom, I'd never eaten hash. When I moved in with my dad for college I was introduced to his favorite breakfast-for-dinner partner. Mary Kitchen Roast Beef Hash in a can. He'd heat that up with some over easy eggs and toast for a simple dinner that was super tasty and pretty cheap too.
We call this Who Hash in my house after How The Grinch Stole Christmas. I've made it with all kinds of meat: chicken thighs, pork chops, hamburger, left over steak, smoked sausage, you name it. I usually like to add some cheese and serve it with sour cream.
Thanks for the great video! In regards to the cover, they are water resistant but we always recommend you put your disc upside down. This prevents water coming in and also condensation from forming and siting in the disc.
Celery would be a good compliment to the bell peppers and onions, it naturally adds salt, flavor and stretches the mix. Pork shoulder / butt would be perfect for this. With a couple of eggs and some shredded cheese this would be a good way to start a cold winter morning in the Mid West.
I love ground beef and peppers. The next time I have them, I definitely will add onions and potatoes. And probably cheese. When I make it for my sister, I will leave out the beef and use mushrooms.
For those who don't have this equipment, brown hamburger in a pan/skillet, add sliced or diced potatoes and diced onion, and if you feel really generous, add some canned or frozen veg and/or mushrooms. I would strongly suggest adding mushrooms, because they are a natural way to get Vitamin D, which most foods don't carry much of. If you get food from a food organization like I do, canned food is as common as dandelions, and dandelions are actually very healthy if you can find them not near a road or other place that is sprayed with any chemicals. More iron than spinach, blah blah blah, you can look them up. The whole plant is edible and very healthy if not sprayed.
I bought the short fire disc 279.00 and love it, we use it for camping, tailgating and around the house, my uncle should have patented his, he did this 40 years ago from some old bed rails a rear brake drum from a VW and a 55 gallon steel barrel top with a burner under it.
Wow! That looked great and I think you're right in that mushrooms would be good in there. You'd just either add them near the end or sautee up a batch in butter with plenty of garlic, then combine with what you made. Super job!
Noobs: Season the meat Amateur: Season the butter Intermediate: Season the cutting board Experienced: Season the seasonings Pro: Season the fucking pan
That looks delicious; I'd be adding a cup or so of peeled and chopped parsnips (love that vegetable!), and probably a turnip or two. Since it'd be for only me, I'd also cut up a couple of beets and add their sweetness to it. But I'm weird that way--I like root vegetables a LOT, and winter root veggies are the only ones I can eat besides potatoes, lima beans, carrots, and corn.
Yes!! a great idea on taking a drink of your, favorite beverage, for every time you said Fire Disc.. started out to be a good idea but i soon realized i better knock it off, i want to finish the video, after all.. and i did.. great detail in what the possibilities of this product are.. & also the end result.. nice.. take care....
If you leave the potatoes out. Add tomato sauce and cheese I learned this recipie as hamburger pizza. You can add any pizza ingredient you like. I add picante instead of tomato sauce most times. I love your channel.
I made something comparable back when I still lived alone on the occasion. I also added a sauce made out of a bit of milk for texture and coating and seasoned it with salt, black pepper, garlic and made a sauce of ketchup and mustard. This type of food rocks 👍
I grew up on this stuff and still eat it today. But mine was the New England version. Just add diced carrots and, very important, diced pickled beets. (red flannel hash). Enjoy....
I agree with Mrs. Wolf, hash you have to have soft, baked potato like potato's. Looks great but for me I'd need a good dusting of black pepper and a couple pieces of white toast
Ok..... I'm 2minutes and 45 seconds through this video and already drunk...... Of course I've already had several glasses of my favorite wine. I'm seeing this on Christmas night 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 I'm a bit late to the party, but Merry Christmas you guy's!!!!!!!!!!
Larry, I have cooked on something similar to this before. But it was more of a flattened Wok than what you show. Can't remember the name-only available on the West Coast. And it did not have a 'bow' in the middle for oil to run into. BUT, it did require seasoning like a Real home wok, but it was probably 36 + inches across. Fabulous toy. Wish I could remember the brand name.

Thank you so much! I had so much trouble with a carbon steel paella pan, and then, it was because I didnt season it. I wound up eating the patina!
A little iron wont hurt you. There's been studies that cooking in cast iron does supplement your iron intake.
Add cheese and rap that in a tortilla and it will be bomb
