If you are talking about the left pinky keys, then use the forked f if the left f key isn't present on your oboe. There are some rules to the forked f however. Use it in the sequences she mentioned. However, it is also helpful for C#/Db. Low B and low Bb (If on your oboe) require forked f if there is a sequence with those notes and f. This is because of sliding. Hope this was helpful :)
