- “Riding my new horse, Erlene, for the first time!”
Since Erlene decided not to get pregnant this year, it’s time to put the saddle on and try out her skills! Erlene is an NSBA reserve world champion, Congress top 3 & top 5 placer, and multiple futurity champion in the hunter under saddle! She’s out of shape since she hasn’t been ridden in 5 months, but I’m excited to get her back in the game!
While the first ride showed she had some stiffness and the uneven ground wasn’t helping either, I think getting her back in shape and giving her a little performance maintenance will have her back show ready in no time!

Eileen is gorgeous! Yes, she was stiff, but movement was on point. Her behavior was AMAZING. She let the kids brush & touch her. Her personality is super sweet! Great find for your barn ❤
I’d love more riding videos and videos on how to properly saddle your horse! I bet a lot of people don’t know how many little mistakes on saddle fit and position can cause problems. ❤
Ive love to see an analysis video where you are explaining what she is doing that needs to improve.

Absolutely loved this video! From her face when you curried her (my fav), to your leggings (we all understand!), to your little helpers, your explanation about the saddle or pad that needed to be up enough to not cause issues with her withers/movement. Loved it all!

I have a question too, so I'm from the UK and generally we have and look for a much higher head and neck carriage in horses, could you please explain the preferences in your horses? Is it due to specific breeding and showing classes? Would you look for a different type of carriage in different classes/breeding? I love all your videos and content ❤

When I was in 4-H we all had to have grooming tools. We would get them as prizes and gifts as well as buying them. The best part about this was not having to share tools at shows. Having them is a long terms asset.

Girl, you need to get all your lesson kids to have tack day once a month. Everyone gets together and goes over all the tack, learns about the different bits, bridles, headstalls and riens as they clean them. Same with saddles. If you plan your monthly tack days in advance, you can let your riders bring a friend or family member too. That way, you get extra hands for cleaning, as well as the opportunity to teach some about how different tack works and possibly get new people interested in horses and riding.
I don’t have lesson kids or extra hands😂
