    I have traveled once on EMD hauled Sanghamitra from SBC to MAS. I remember being quite astonished that a diesel loco was powering our train through a completely electrified section. Back then I was not aware that this train got diesel links regularly... :)

      These locos were sent for training of staffs on SR as GOC was getting ready to home the EMD locomotives. Intially Bangalore Chennai Express was carrying the link, later given to Sanghamitra Express

    Wow, wonderful captures
    WDP4s with Original cab and WDG4s with the same were very popular from the beginning of 2009 .
    Now, these type of units are not going to be manufactured.

    Excellent capture. Even till 2011 when Chennai MDU was not fully electrified(full electrfication till Madurai was at the end of 2011 only) WDP4s are regular links for Pandian Express in night and Pallavan/Vaigai express in the day end to end. At that time, EMDs were premium locos preferred for fast acceleration and fuel saving

      @@NatarajanC12119 thanks sir. I had the fortune of living in a house located near the tracks exiting chengleput RS in 2009 and 2010 years . Whole night I enjoy humming EMD heard for 10 minutes in nights after 10 PM and again in the morning 3.30 AM when Pandian express passed the nearby tracks.
