I generally try hard not to involve my family in my video stuff in any way that would make them have to wait for me to get a photo, or pose everywhere, or take time away from their trip or enjoyment. Jim is usually oblivious to any on camera chatting I'm doing, and is very sweet and patient when he sees me filming for a couple minutes. I'm blessed that way. (and many other ways) 🥰

Amazing!! Ahhh Capri and the Blue Grotto (and when they sing when you are in there)…brings back such awesome memories when my husband and I were there in 2000 on our honeymoon! I cried when we left Capri. We will be back in the next year or so! Beautiful video and trip you had!!
Omg, Italy. My favorite place in the world! Just so beautiful and the people are wonderful. And the food. We never had a bad meal. I’m ready to go back. We went in 2019 when my daughter was on maternity leave and my grandchild babysitting duties were on pause. Three weeks of heaven… And we did well, especially considering we hadn’t planned it long before we decided to go. In the AC, we stayed in Sorrento in a 16th century villa (also got lost- our sweet host Luca had to come find us on his Vespa). It was our home base in the AC because my poor right knee can’t handle all those steps! I don’t know how those little old nonnas do it. But Positano, Amalfi and Ravello were just stunning! We also toured Pompeii and it was sobering to see. Herculaneum is also supposed to be worth seeing so maybe next time. My husband also loved driving it Italy. We didn’t get the car until we left Rome, but it took us all over the country and was mostly useful in Tuscany. Traffic in Naples and Florence were a little terrifying though, for me at least. The car didn’t leave the villa once in Sorrento- we just hired drivers. Those narrow roads are something else! Glad you had a great trip! Happy Anniversary!

Wow, thanks for sharing your beautiful trip. I will say you keep up a good pace, I find when we travel abroad I MUST schedule the first day for rest from the airplane journey and time change. The day with Mario in the Grottos was incredible.

Travel and adventures really mean so much to us! Whether it be a trip across the world, or just taking an afternoon to wander around exploring a nearby town...we just love it! That said, there's no place like home. HUGS
This was absolutely amazing and inspiring! I've never travelled in my life and I never felt really compelled to want to except for to visit Italy. I've always wanted to see the Amalfi Coast and all the places you went so this was so wonderful to watch and also to be with you guys as you celebrate your 35 years! We just hit 24 years on September 8th so I hope that one day I'll be able to see Italy. I just went back to watch your video about your mom as I know we're approaching a year in December but I wanted to go back and listen to it because my mom who is 91 now is in a skilled nursing facility and it seems that I don't think I'm going to be able to bring her home because she lives alone in a two-story house with no first-floor bedroom or full bathroom and I work full-time still. I'm only 54 and I have a family so I don't know how I could take care of her and work. I don't think she could be left alone so I'm facing the decision in the next ten or so days about whether or not to keep her in long-term care and I just am having such a hard time with it. I'm an only child with no support system. I don't have siblings she doesn't have siblings so it's just me and her and my husband and two sons aren't really engaging in that way, so I feel fear, not only about what I'm going to do in her situation but it makes me think about myself in the future. You are so blessed to have your wonderful hubby and someone that you really can count on.. like someone who can carry suitcases up 52 flights of stairs! :) Anyway, all that said, this video was beautiful and inspiring and the one about your mom is very helpful... I know you lost your dad also recently and I haven't seen that video yet but I will. Thank you for sharing your life with all of us including your highs and lows because that's what makes life the journey that we're all on❤Gods peace and grace to you, J!

What you and your husband (and sons) are going through is daunting, confusing, overwhelming and exhausting. Especially for you, honestly, since you are her daughter and have a special relationship with her that spans your entire life. Trying to sort through all the possible solutions and situations, and trying to make the best decisions, both mentally and financially........there will be many sleepless nights. I won't try to tell you what you should do, as only you know what is best for your mother and yourself. There is NO one correct answer. Just weigh all your options (huge undertaking!) and make the best decisions you can. Truly, when all is said and done in the end, you will find immense peace knowing you gave this your all and did the best you could. However, carve out some peaceful time for yourself during this whole process. You have some very tough times ahead, so give yourself GRACE, and understanding. You are doing your best for her, and you know you also need to be there for your family and yourself. Sending you a big hug and all the love this world has to offer. You are a warrior for your mother right now. Be strong and trust in God's plan. ♥️

She may well say she wants to stay in the home... it's very hard making these decisions but its extremely hard caring for someone too. Your life will be all consumed by it, with no respite and the fear and worry is horrendous. My dad was in a care home and just wanted to come home. But he was bed ridden with parkinsons and we couldnt do it. His life would have been rubbish either way. As Jennifer says, there's no right answer. You make your decisions based on the information and circumstances presented to you at the time, and that's all you can do. With no regrets.

Suggestion for the next trip ... upon arrival, drive to Sorrento and use that as your home base as you venture off to Positano and the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Naples, etc. Having a home base means you don't have to pack up and move every few days, yet you still get to enjoy the surrounding areas. Thank you! Yes, Italy definitely gets in your soul. We were there (Venice, Florence, Tuscany, Rome etc) in 2007 and I have been wanting to go to the Amalfi Coat ever since! So happy we were able to get back and see even more of this beautiful country 🇮🇹

I wanted to include the driving mostly because I was concerned about it and was trying to find any videos that showed what it's really like, but struggled to find any. I think it helps prospective travelers see what they would be up against so they can decide for themselves whether they would want to rent a car and do the driving, or take the buses and tours everywhere instead. Thank you! Yes, Italy definitely gets in your soul. We were there (Venice, Florence, Tuscany, Rome etc) in 2007 and I have been wanting to go to the Amalfi Coat ever since! So happy we were able to get back and see even more of this beautiful country 🇮🇹

I wanted to include the driving mostly because I was concerned about it and was trying to find any videos that showed what it's really like, but struggled to find any. I think it helps prospective travelers see what they would be up against so they can decide for themselves whether they would want to rent a car and do the driving, or take the buses and tours everywhere instead.
