I am 61 and I waited 3 years to start, as I wanted learn as much as possible first. I only have my phone to use, but I bought 2 Bluetooth mics, and monetized in 2 and a half months!
Hi I am a 67 great grand mother of one child and on Monday the 27th I will be posting my first video on youtube. I was scared to be on camera at my age😢but I m now confident. Thank u my son God bless you
You should absolutely go for this. You need to upload that video. Not just for being on the internet and for chasing what you want to do, but if you have family? They will always have that video to watch you. Even when you pass away, your video will live on in RUclips and your family will still have the video with your voice, and your face.
As a 40 year old and mom to 5 boys who started a RUclips channel to inspire healing through art (because of the healing I've experienced through painting and through God), this episode was so encouraging! Thank you!!
I’m now 70 and during Covid my daughter and I started a channel which shares the joy of watercolor painting with now more than 12 million views - I could never have reached 0.1% of these people without RUclips and Sean Cannell and his team were the first to guide us on the journey into video creation and RUclips success. Thanks to you all and of course to our loyal family of subscribers!!
I created a video about a month ago on this exact topic. Over 40, you have several advantages. We need more 40+ content creators! If you've been considering it, start. You absolutely can do it and there are people looking for your message ❤
Yes yes! I’m an almost 55 year old new content creator who is finding great joy in building a community in this space. I’ve been a teacher for over 25 years and if I have the skills to teach live in front of 24 8 year olds for 6 hours a day without editing…I can do it here! LOL. I’m happy to have joined this community and to be giving back! ❤
I love this. Thank you for doing this. I am 61 and my husband is 65. We’ve been on RUclips for about 13 years now and we love it. We launched our paper crafting business when we reached 100k subscribers and never looked back. We also started a preschool learning channel as well. We are loving this journey and do it full time for nearly 7 years now. If anyone is thinking it’s too late, it’s definitely not. The world needs you.✅
I just started my RUclips channel this week at 52 years young. I've had one of those lives where I've learned a lot of lessons. And I've gotten to the point where I want to own my time and share my knowledge and wisdom. Becoming a RUclipsr is a way to give back to the world, and the world needs our wisdom and insights from all of us. So, let's all say 1, 2, 3, JUMP! BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD!
It seems like as we get older, we realize the fear isn't as important as giving back to others who can learn from our experiences. I applaud you for starting and encourage you to keep going. You got this!! 🔥
I’m 46 and started my channel last November. I was monetized in less than a month. There is a whole world on RUclips for people over 40. We watch it just as much as the kids. But we don’t watch for tutorials or Mr Beast videos. All of the creators we watch in our 2.0 season are doing news, politics, culture, business, and entertainment content. It’s about creating a community among your subs. Not selling them something. I’m just getting started, and I’ve got big plans to have a lot of fun with my channel.
I will be 60 this year. I started my channel 3 years ago and I LOVE IT!!! I'm not perfect.. but I am real, authentic, and I have a lot to bring to the table. I'm still finding my way.. my groove.. but my greatest joy is when one of my subscribers comments that I have helped them or brought them joy.. I love that so so much. This was an amazing video and I'm saving it to watch again. Thank you recognizing the wisdom and unique experiences, value, that those of us in our later years have to offer. Society wants to brush us off, put us in homes and forget about us.. but we are here to retaliate!! I consider myself a wise crone.. I have lived through some stuff and survived and concurred every challenge to date. I look forward to next 30 years of obstacles..
Started my podcast at 61. The Dept is the most relevant content I've consumed this year. It took a lifetime of observing the world and curating content. Now, I'm starting the content creator journey from the overflow of what God has spoken into my life. This year is a 260 episode practice session for me. Thank you for all of the inspiring episodes of The Dept so far.
At 40 years old I started my RUclips channel. I didn't really know what I was doing but I did. Through taking care of kids, a dying parent, job, no job, learning different things about RUclips, and social media, I can say at almost 44. I'm a content creator! Start now, you 2.0's!
Yes! I did the same thing at 54! I’m a new empty nester, a school teacher of 25 years, and my mother passed away a few years back. I didn’t think I had it in me to do something new…but then it just came out! I’m loving doing this and creating community. ❤
I started my channel at 51. Funnily enough, a video I made about not being too old has the most views (and most comments) so far!! Age comes with skills, knowledge, experience and perspective that can’t be hacked - it has to be earned!!
Wow your content is so powerful and you came into my feed at the perfect time. I love been working with my dad who is a retired On-air personality and doo whoop singer. He’s 84 and literally a living legend in Black radio and music. Once he retired he started to slip mentally and this man has the memory of an elephant. So I set him up doing FBLive on the weekends similar to when he was on the radio and it has been the best thing for him. He now has purpose again is he is amazing on air and he’s such a great storyteller. He was friends with people like James Brown and Aretha Franklin. This video is certainly encouraging me to keep working on getting this content out before it’s too late. He’s in FB under Joe Fisher’s Family Radio but is mainly active under his personal page (Joe Fisher). You have such great content I’m learning a lot. I thank you. 🙏🏽
Omar…this is right up my alley. As a woman of a certain age in the homemaking niche…been there and done that for more than 50 years. I know what I’m talking about.
I’m 77, kicked my channel into gear a little last year, crawling towards monetization with 876 subs and way over the 4k watch hours…having a good time. Almost all my viewers are over 45.
Love this video! I’m a therapist and I’ve closed my books to new clients and I have started a new channel to share some of my tips and experiences to help others who can’t afford therapy or who aren’t ready to go to therapy. Thanks for cheerleading older generations who are creating in order to give something back to create a better world ❤
Mind blown! This needs to go viral. Sent it to all my peers. I am 64 (3.0), 7 businesses with my husband, 4 successful exits and now growing 2 businesses, one of which is a SaaS. I still struggle with content creation. This was so good. Keep speaking the truth!
Content creation is an evolving necessity, isn't it? Creating consistency through video content can be easier when you leverage all your and your husband's years of experience to give back to others. I applaud you for starting and all your business successes over the years!! 💯
I am so inspired seeing so many over 40 content creators!! I knew we were out there, lol. Thank you all for answering the call. What you have to share with the world is valuable!! Lets go 😊
Yes!!! Thank you! I’m 59 year old content creator with a 126k TikTok channel about changing the narrative on aging, speaking skills and living a nomadic life over 50. This is wonderful encouragement as I grow my RUclips channel for my own bliss and to make a difference in the lives of others.
I love this topic. I’m curious for TikTok creators what their plans are for the future. Are you considering any possibility that you’ll have to pivot or moving forward with business as usual and continuing to grow there? Do you also have an email list from your TikTok audience? I’m so curious so sorry for all of the questions 😂
@@SlasherChick I have not been rigorous about building an email list from my TikTok audience. I am making sure that I have all my content downloaded on TikSav (without watermarks) and I’m super curious to see what will happen. There have already been two or three times we thought TikTok might be canceled-although not as serious as this one. I’m still not convinced it’s going away but if it does I’ll survive. Currently TikTok is my playground and my focus is increasingly on RUclips.
@@thealignedalchemist The thing about Tiktok is that the algorithm connects us with our people. So, I've been on the platform since 2020 and I have connected with (been connected through the algorithm) with all the people I need to know. It's not as easy to grow on Tiktok as it was in 2020 but if you want a place to play, create and connect it's great. It's NOT great for monetization...at least I haven't figured that out.
I'm in my early 50's and I'm grateful to RUclips. It has given me the privilege of growing an audience. It hasn't been easy. I may never be as big as other younger content creators, but I appreciate the opportunity. I loved your discussion. It was most interesting 😊 ...By the way. There are lots of older creators who are not necessary financially free, but RUclips still gives them a voice 😊😊😊
I think this should be a series on this subject. Maybe interview some mature people that already has started, wanting to start, etc. 40 yr olds is not mature age though. 55 and up is who I want to hear from.
This video has inspired me in so many ways. I’m a 41 year old with an adult daughter. I’ve been creating content, even here on RUclips (but have lacked consistency) I started posting again, but I haven’t been getting views on my videos I expected, and feel like what I have to offer isn’t important, so I felt a bit dejected. And then I stumbled upon this video and it suddenly changed my mind and blessed my heart. Thank you very much for creating this video. I have a lot to offer and will continue creating content that’s relevant and needed. I believe my people will find me. 🙌🏾
I started following you once I saw you are were “out on your own” as a creator. You are doing awesome. And this conversation is so inspiring. I am so grateful. Oh, I am 59 and want to create content as a high functioning professional who has lived with grief and want to help people live a higher quality of life in faith and creativity. I have been afraid because if taboo. But I yearn to have my voice used by God. I have waited to get beyond having any symptoms but I was raised in trauma and my brain is wired in that environment and I have valuable information. Anyway, I want to use art and faith in the Lord to bring a message of hope in the face of fear and many times, grief to learn to live beyond the rails that have been set for us by family and culture. There is so much more than limiting beliefs. Etc… Thanks so much Renee Daniel
Spot-on! Individuals over 40 have a unique opportunity to influence and inspire by sharing their own perspectives and wisdom, filling a niche in the digital landscape. 🎥
This is a GREAT subject and more people need to hear this. I myself started RUclips in my mid 30s where I teach on being a wedding photography/running a photography business. I had been a wedding photographer for about 7 years at that point so I had the experience and still do weddings till this day. That experience in the field makes a HUGE difference and even though I don't normally have "viral videos" or anything like that I've managed to get up to about 250k subs as well as provide for my family of 7 on a single income. RUclips isn't only for the young. It's for anyone who has stories to tell and experiences to share.
53 year old creativity coach, tired of flying under the radar. This discussion was pure fire. Great self awareness from both of you, and your observations about bliss and creating without transacting is completely on point! Thanks Omar!
Right on time message for me to keep going as it been up and down last few years with some life challenges. But just started back up last couple weeks ago. Thanks for sharing😊
I'm 54 years old and just recently pivoted my career from working in a corporate office to being a chef partnering with a vegan restaurant in Minneapolis. Your video has helped me so much and just solidified what I was thinking I should do. I want to have videos that bring value to people in a way that only I can bring it. After lots of overthinking, one day I asked my daughter to just film me peeling a potato with a knife. That video got more views than anything I've ever posted. It was under 30 seconds. Your video has encouraged me to keep going, especially after hearing what your Mom had to say. Tell her I said thank you! 🤗
Thank you for this video. I just turned 40 and was not sure if there was a place for ppl my age and older on social media. Being on camera was not something I was always comfortable with but, am now more confident and ready to start. ❤
This is so inspiring Omar. I just turned 60 this year and I podcast but never felt it was going in the right direction. Ive been completely blessed in so many areas of my life from film and television actor to travel photographer but always felt my life would be boring to others. This episode made me realize Ive got 30 yrs of expertise in these areas and may just be able to encourage others to live the life they desire. Thank you!!!
@@OmarEltakroriThank you! I'm just so humble grateful with my journey that I dont know how to start. Should I just throw something out there and see if it sticks and then let it evolve? I think its so hard for the 2.0s to just jump in because this is all new to most of us. Whereas the young generation started at a young age and this is natural for them.
I'm an over 40 year old and started my channel last hear and thought it would be just my journal. I never thought people would want to see me living a self sufficient life on the farm with my 89 year old mother...
I am a 50+ new creator speaking on Motherhood. I am on the other side of parenting and have experienced LIFE! this is great to know that it's not too late to start and that this niche is a good focus. I have been so focused on making sure the aesthetics matched the younger content creators and was getting discouraged a bit. Thank you putting it in perspective!
Such a great episode! I am turning 50 this year and I’m sort of an OG content creator. I’m a former news reporter who does voiceover and on camera work so I’ve been in front of the camera my whole life… But started a RUclips channel a couple of months ago and it’s a different world! I have a lot to learn, but it is such a fun journey. I’m learning so much from younger content creators like you! Thanks for the encouragement for us 2.0’s out there!
I am actually blown away with this video and just want to say THANK YOU!! I will be 60 this year and have decided to get really serious about creating, even if no one watches. I hope I will start to grow at some point for a few reasons, but I will continue to create them just because I love it! Even without views. Your encouragement in this video is so timely for me. ALSO, I love that you touched on the topic of people posting about things that they don't have a deep understanding about. While a brand new momma can share her experience, she definitely is not an expert on that topic.
I started my RUclips cooking channel at 51. My years of experience as a chef definitely helped me to get started, but I still had to learn how to shoot, edit, post, and market those videos on social media. Still have a lot to learn but definitely feel I’m on the precipice of something great! I will say that I started RUclips for the love…but I was also intentional in that I wanted this to be what I do going forward! Love this episode and your podcast! 🙏🏾
Hi , thanks for this video! I’m nearly 68 and have just started posting my tuition art videos! I felt I had a lot to offer and I didn’t want it to go to waste. For me this is something I can leave to mark my life here , when I die all my videos will still be here for anyone that wants them! That’s a great feeling. Yes I was nervous to get on camera, but I wanted to do this more than letting my nervousness stop me! I found I actually love it, I’m doing something I love, drawing animals and people and sharing as I do it, what’s not to like?
I am 52 years old. I am a self published author, book coach, publisher and speaker and I create videos for the author community. A lot of the authors I work with are over 40 years old. They are like me. People who had a different career, but now want to share their knowledge via books but quite know how.
Hi there! I’m a 54 year old woman who came back to my channel that I started when I turned 50. I am in the beginning stages of empty nesting, hoping to retire early from a teaching career of 25+ years and ready to begin sharing the wisdom I’ve earned from living a full life. I was inspired to start a monetization challenge before I turn 55 this summer. I’ve made so many fabulous connections with other content creators from the Gen-X group. I am definitely enjoying creating a community of like-minded viewers/creators. It is helping me create knowing that I am serving a community. My learning curve is high…but it’s what I need at this time in my life. ❤
This was so so good. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I started my audio podcast just over two years ago - At the age of 60... now motivated to switch to RUclips video podcast. After 35 years of clinical practice with early child development I’m so ready to share with new mamas and their babies. Thanks Omar!!!. I love your authenticity, practical tips, and true heart. I also follow Myron - I am blown away by his story ❤❤❤.
Absolutely loved this conversation. And somehow this resonated with my story to a large extent. I am in my mid thirties, engineer mom and very creative person. Even though everyone around me keep asking why I run my blog if it doesn’t give you money, or why I have a RUclips channel, my answer always is I love doing this and I love the community I have. Money is really not the drive, maybe when decide to retire, I might turn it into a business but at the moment it is pure bliss. ❤
Joy. As a woman of faith understanding the true meaning of true joy and peace is so important and beyond valuable. The point of the 2.0 is so encouraging. I'm 55 and I know there is room and a voice available for me.
Good question from @twonrichpo1126 Also would add; is there an aspect of your career experience that you would enjoy communicating or teaching on a channel?
I agree. There is a gap that is waiting to be filled. I started my channel when I was 45. I stopped because I wasn’t sure what to talk about. The road has been a learning experience. I’m turning 50 in 2 months and I’m looking forward creating content and sharing my journey in this next chapter
I have been going back and forth for ten years about a RUclips channel. But, in those ten years, I've grown and started a family. This was really important for me to hear. Thank you!
This episode was great. I am 68 years old and was encouraged to start my own Channel by my son. I am so glad I did. I enjoy sharing my life's experiences and how God has helped me through the challenges in my life. God Bless you.
congrats my man! You're helping a lot! Brave and bold choice to also make these episodes! Without a big star guest. ALSO really valuable! over 40, thats me man, I will focus on my Capoeira youtube channel. 22 years of capoeira experience in 1,5 hour will be the next!
I am 52 and just started, but find it hard to keep motivated and consistent. I talk about grief and healing after losing my daughter to suicide so a difficult topic to speak about. Thankyou for giving me a little inspiration to keep going with it. You are right we have learnt alot
Omar Man!!! It’s because of you that I rebranded the Make A Buck With A Truck Podcast. I watched the entire podcast. I’m in my 2.0 part of life and I have so much to give check out my New Logo. I was you on the Morning Meetup and was so impressed. Thanks for what you do. Big Mike.
I love that you're having this conversation. Along with the susbstance of life lived and great stories to tell, my generation (I'm 42) is bursting with creativity nutured in our analog youths that we only now have the opportunity to realize. We're pivoting and transitioning all at the same time, sharing "wizened" info with the youths and also trying to find community in this space that feels relevant and authentic. ✊🏾
I turned 50 in January and uploaded my first video in February. And I appreciate this video. I am battling the thoughts of…am I too old to be doing this. But you’re right…I have knowledge because of my age and experience that I want to share!
This is encouraging. I am in my 2.0 season of my life. I am a furniture artist and love re-purposing other household items and have a passion to share with others. I am giving my channel time to grow so when I retire I have another form of income.
I've been saying this for such a long time! I couldn't agree more...and it's so wonderful that you've done a podcast/video to encourage us older folk! I'm 48 years old, I started a style / lifestyle blog at 40 and have also been getting more serious about my RUclips channel since November. It's a slow process to get views and subs, but that's probably because I'm still finding my feet. More recently I've discovered a love for filmmaking though so watch this space!! Thank you so much!
Over 40 here and started a brand this year. When I hear 'Content Creator' successful young people def come to mind. I LOVE the concept of over 40 = life experience. Im doing ok on TT and now trying to build my RUclips. TY for the inspiration!!!!
Love this - I returned to acting 11 years ago when I was 47 after taking a long time away to care for my family and now I’m on a mission to help other actors pick up where they left off and finally get the careers they deserve.
46 here! Started YT 4 yrs ago, running two channels now. This one for fun & to connect with the RV community, our other channel is a real estate channel that doesn’t have half the following and still brings in 6 figures of income. And yes, I guess because us older folks have been around a while & we know what the hell we’re talking about 😜 Too funny, but true. Hey, but the younger generations have a lot to teach us too! Y’all are growing up with this stuff! We didn’t even have a cell phone until 24! And it was flip phone that we shared a number to! Absolutely, we started with a coach and absolutely still always need coaching and teams to help us run all the things and keep up with ever changing media trends. Love tuning into your channel, always so much to keep learning! If we have any advice at all to younger entrepreneurs, it’s that you’ll never arrive, it’s always learning and growth on the journey to running your own businesses. Cheers to all the Gen Xer’s & Boomers out there crushing their video marketing! 🥂🍻
I got interested in RUclips and started my channel when I was 70. I've done over 450 videos solo and with my wife and friends. It's a blast and has added a lot of fun times to our life. We have covered every topic from gear reviews, travel, the covid pandemic. Never short of topics. But we are nicheless. We just shoot what we want.
This was a great episode. I'm in my 40s and struggle with the idea of posting content, even for my business. But you're right, I have a content vault ideas with my experience. Thank you!
I am 50 YO, started YT 2 years ago...198 subs and keep on strong...working full time, but grinding as a part timer. Just embrace this and keep continue..
I am in my 60’s and all I wanted to do was to build a RUclips channel to share my faith, and to help other middle aged folks understand how to do it too. I am self taught how to live stream, photography, and on equipment. But when the pandemic hit, all folks were talking about was monetization and niche, and I could not come up with how to make money. I didn’t need to make money, I just wanted a place to have a voice. This is so encouraging! ❤
Your mum is amazing, she is the final puzzle why I should start a podcast, havnt seen my mum in ten yrs,so maybe she can see me here, but I lost my phone 😪
I’m a small content creator, mom in the basement playing at her glam station and sharing my 50yrs of life existence ;) love this vid and it’s positive reinforcement for new you tubers like me, of a certain age range ☺️
I'm just loving all these testimonials of fellow listeners, as I enjoy your content as well, I've created content daily for over 10 years but just not on RUclips, looking back I wish I'd stepped into it sooner (RUclips), but better late than never. Turned 60 this year and decided to give myself a chance😁 to do this for the next 5 years God's willing. Coach Teacher & Bookkeeper, I've been in business for over 2 decades so I know I've got lots to share. Thank you Omar for bringing us this episode.
62 year old here. Still waiting in the wings 😊 This video is maybe a sign I should just get on with it! Heartened by the comments from other mature content creators. Bravo for taking the leap and good luck to you all
Exactly!!! Over 40 we are seasoned with life. I give advice out of genuine care and concern. Plus, it's not a rush for that instant gratification , because most of us are settled in life. Thanks for sharing!!!
Omar, ironic video. I am few days away from turning 52. 1. I have been following this youtube train for the past 10 years. Studying everything, including podcasting. I am on the doorstep. Who knows where this will lead, hopefully for someone who relates to me, my career, and who I am as an older person, dad too, and leaving something for my children. Everything you could possibly think of, I have documented my life. I have been trying to share my experiences or mentor with life hungry people, it's definitely rewarding. Even if its one person at a time. I am at a point in my life, having time to sneak in some videos and podcasts.
In March, my sons (17 and 14) and I started our channel, I'm 44 and wanted to document learning the ends and outs of MTB-ing, and it's been the most fun that we've had collectively in years.
You inviting your mom in was phenomenal to the EXACT INSIGHT she offered with your line of questioning. She said, You, Spontaneous, no paper, No script…that’s Divine Timing at its best 🎉 you can’t make this up!!!
I am 62yrs and ready to start🎉 I am so into learning about it all ... But ready to START as a content creator and giving back in this point of my life! So... Thank you!❤ 16:59
You have given me a lot of inspiration. I'm 53 and going through a rare form of cancer.. plus I worked in the film industry, the horse industry and grief counseling... i could definitely share my experiences.
Im 54. I never give age a thought when I want to do something. Left the south and moved to Seattle and working on launching my brand now. Life is a lot about one's mindset.
Thank you so much for creating this episode. I'm 42 and host an audio podcast and finally decided to get serious about my RUclips channel. One of the best decisions, I've ever made. I've made some awesome connections and learned a lot on my journey.
Omar - Thank you for dropping this video. I've prepped everything to start my channel I have the equipment, brand Everything! Yet, I feel like I'm too old (49) to start. I'm still watching this video. I'll tell mu thoughts afterwards 🙏 💪 🫡
I couldn't read this and run. I've subscribed to your channel - now you have 11 subs! :) Maybe try to shift your focus from age to the value you could bring to someone's life by what you have to say? Good luck! We are all in this together.
I am 39 and I see all these young folks out here killing it on RUclips and I thought that perhaps I was "too old" to succeed in YT, but you helped me see how my age and life experience is my competitive edge. Thank you, brother. God Bless!
This is great man, I really needed this video. This year has been a crazy transitionary year for me. and I now see that the feeling of angst and trepidation on content creation was been because I was young and felt I had nothing to offer. I built so much by now at 35 and I'm starting to see my journey was meant to be like this. I needed to do the things before talking about the things.
This was an awesome video, would definitely would’ve been better to have an older guest with you. No knock on my young boy, because he’s definitely got swag, but it just would’ve had more impact to hear from somebody in their 40s 50s or 60s talk about the beginning of their journey as middle-age people. It’s something that I thought about, and almost hesitated, since I do believe a lot of the social media space is predominated by younger people. But I reallydig this video.
I was thinking exactly the same. I'd love to see an older content creator guest, ideally a lady, please (still not enough women creators out there who can inspire other women, in my opinion).
I am making more of a habit of commenting on videos. I love this content. I am 44 and I have no idea what I could do content on. I have been racking my brain for the last 6 months what to do, but this video just helped me stop overthinking so heavily. Thank you, Omar!
Thank you so much for sharing this! I’m age 58, I’ve been in ministry for years and I’ve been contemplating starting a RUclips channel but feel overwhelmed with what in particular to share. I have lived a rich juicy life ❤
Hell yeah dude. I am 44 and I started creating to show my journey from being an auto tech for 20 years and shifting into media. Love the path and the challenges and wins daily!
Hi! I appreciate you so much! I am 53 and started my RUclips channel 5 years ago just to share my passion and years of experience as a garden designer and to help people learn to grow their own healthy food and find healing in the garden. I’m at 30k subs and have built an amazing community of beautiful followers. Im stepping my game up and I’m hoping to create a business through my channel as a means of a retirement income for my husband and I. Thanks again for your invaluable content! God bless you!
I am 61 and I waited 3 years to start, as I wanted learn as much as possible first. I only have my phone to use, but I bought 2 Bluetooth mics, and monetized in 2 and a half months!
I have watched a couple of your videos!! ❤
Boom 💙 Congratulations 👏
By the way, I love your channel... I Love Italy 🥂
Thank you!!
Cheers lady.
I'm Italian but now expat in China 😅
I'm 40 and opened a channel that is about my life here in this amazing country 😊
Hi I am a 67 great grand mother of one child and on Monday the 27th I will be posting my first video on youtube. I was scared to be on camera at my age😢but I m now confident. Thank u my son God bless you
Confidence plays a huge part!
You should absolutely go for this. You need to upload that video. Not just for being on the internet and for chasing what you want to do, but if you have family? They will always have that video to watch you. Even when you pass away, your video will live on in RUclips and your family will still have the video with your voice, and your face.
Congratulations on getting started!! You're past the hardest part now :) You got this!! 🎉
Subscribing already
I checked out your first video and you were AMAZING! So much conviction and wisdom!
As a 40 year old and mom to 5 boys who started a RUclips channel to inspire healing through art (because of the healing I've experienced through painting and through God), this episode was so encouraging! Thank you!!
Thank you for momming those 5 boys! So glad this conversation encouraged you!!
That's so freaking awesome!!!
Congrats on your journey 😇
@@AvisPope thank you so much!
Isn’t it blissful when we find the hidden parts of ourselves? ❤
I checked your page out Diane... Awesome & Congratulations for following your dream 💐
Good job! I'm happy for you
Congratulations! Love your story and art. Just subscribed. ✨🎨✨
It’s cool how you younger men are encouraging us on RUclips. I’m 52 and wrapping my head around the importance of starting a channel. Thanks
You got this Kenneth!
I created a video about a month ago on this exact topic. Over 40, you have several advantages. We need more 40+ content creators! If you've been considering it, start. You absolutely can do it and there are people looking for your message ❤
This ❤. Thank you.
Amen!
Love this comment, Alicia!! This was such a great video to showcase those of us over 40 and have a lot to give back. Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks! I’ve started! 62 years old
I just subbed!
This is exactly why I started my channel at 46! Blessings to you
I’m 46 and started my channel last November.
I like your content, I’m tired of seeing this ageing phobia epidemic and I really love seeing those who just embrace and appreciate life 🙏😌
Started my podcast at 61.
Thank you for this comment! I’m so encouraged to know people like you are getting value! Grateful for you!

That's awesome! Your experience definitely adds value-keep it up!
You sure do know what you're talking about. ❤
My name is Alicia too 😊
So fun!!
Congrats on your journey 😇
Thanks for representing our over 40 age group, Denise!! Checking out your channel now 😊
I’m 77, kicked my channel into gear a little last year, crawling towards monetization with 876 subs and way over the 4k watch hours…having a good time. Almost all my viewers are over 45.
What’s you channel name?
Love this video! I’m a therapist and I’ve closed my books to new clients and I have started a new channel to share some of my tips and experiences to help others who can’t afford therapy or who aren’t ready to go to therapy. Thanks for cheerleading older generations who are creating in order to give something back to create a better world ❤
I’m 41 Dad of three starting a RUclips channel to give other fathers advice on the joy and challenges of parenthood!!!!! Inspired by your video ❤
Amazing! Get after it!
55yo lady here and I just put up my second video. Let's gooooo!!!
Thank you for this episode. I started when I was a little long in the tooth. Lol. I was terrified, but I started my channel anyway.
I am so inspired seeing so many over 40 content creators!! I knew we were out there, lol. Thank you all for answering the call. What you have to share with the world is valuable!! Lets go 😊
60+ should be called the 3.0 era of your life 😊
Love it!
Yes!!!
CRUSHING!
Nice! I was going to do TikTok but I am 47 (or close to it) and figured my people wouldn't be on there. I personally am not worried about a ban.
165k subscribers?? That is amazing
@@ebonibianca Thank you. It's been a lot of hard work and persistence. :)
I feel the same but I keep going. I have a wonderful little community and it's awesome ❤
Etc…
Thanks so much
Renee Daniel
And, I learned about what camera and lens might work for me and lighting and studio presentation from you and a few others. Thanks so much
Spot-on! Individuals over 40 have a unique opportunity to influence and inspire by sharing their own perspectives and wisdom, filling a niche in the digital landscape. 🎥
Absolutely!
Appreciate you Declan!!
I’m 42 and one recently started my channel. I’ve been contemplating for a few years and I finally feel brave enough.
Life in my 40’s - this is my sign to start long form content in my 40’s
Just watching this video so good.
Today is my birthday 71 and just started RUclips. You are so correct.
Happy Birthday 🎂🎉🎂🎉 Get it done and having Fun 🎈🎈
Happy belated birthday !
Right on time message for me to keep going as it been up and down last few years with some life challenges. But just started back up last couple weeks ago. Thanks for sharing😊
As a 43 year old creator this brings me comfort, my years of experience most definitely comes through in my videos
So grateful this encouraged you and let’s go!!
You have so much to offer!
Great watch man. Nice work and advice! In my 40's, changed my career again and enjoying this journey
🤝🏼
I started my RUclips cooking channel at 51. My years of experience as a chef definitely helped me to get started, but I still had to learn how to shoot, edit, post, and market those videos on social media. Still have a lot to learn but definitely feel I’m on the precipice of something great! I will say that I started RUclips for the love…but I was also intentional in that I wanted this to be what I do going forward! Love this episode and your podcast! 🙏🏾
Your channel is awesome! I'm definitely trying the Pinchos de Pollo recipe, but the Pandebono made me subscribe
@@samfayezawad Thank you so much I appreciate it! 🙏🏾
You are on the precipice!
Good on you 🎉😊❤
Hi , thanks for this video!
Amazing art on your channel - I've subscribed!
@@over40matters Thank you!
I love that the mature youtube community is growing. Subbed and will watch your vids.
HERE FOR YOU!! Way to be consistent!
Amazing Manda!!
Older and wiser! Turning 50 this year and just hit 5k. Slow but steady. - it’s so fun!!!
I’m 52, still working and have NO idea what I can do. Your podcast motivates me to try to find something that this commoner can do.
What are a couple of ur hobbies and real interests
Good question from @twonrichpo1126 Also would add; is there an aspect of your career experience that you would enjoy communicating or teaching on a channel?
I agree. There is a gap that is waiting to be filled. I started my channel when I was 45. I stopped because I wasn’t sure what to talk about. The road has been a learning experience. I’m turning 50 in 2 months and I’m looking forward creating content and sharing my journey in this next chapter
Hey there! I’m 47 and the host of transformational women's retreats where we say goodbye to hustle culture and hello to the SoftLife RUclips channel.
I love it!!
Yessss! Checking out your channel.
Happy to see I’m not the only Tamara 40+ invested in soft life 😂 I need to go back to posting videos.
Congrats on your journey 😇 I'll check out your channel.
Congratulations on your channel! New subscriber here since I’m beginning mine.
I’m 47 and started my channel a few months ago, excited to see where it goes.
The video we all want to see! I must admit becoming a RUclipsr in my 40's has been a highlight!
congrats my man! You're helping a lot! Brave and bold choice to also make these episodes! Without a big star guest. ALSO really valuable! over 40, thats me man, I will focus on my Capoeira youtube channel. 22 years of capoeira experience in 1,5 hour will be the next!
Appreciate you making this comment! Yea I gotta make sure the dept. fam knows what’s up!
I am 52 and just started, but find it hard to keep motivated and consistent. I talk about grief and healing after losing my daughter to suicide so a difficult topic to speak about. Thankyou for giving me a little inspiration to keep going with it. You are right we have learnt alot
Indeed, that's a very emotional topic, but please keep going as and when you can as this will no doubt help to heal many lives.
Omar Man!!! It’s because of you that I rebranded the Make A Buck With A Truck Podcast. I watched the entire podcast. I’m in my 2.0 part of life and I have so much to give check out my New Logo. I was you on the Morning Meetup and was so impressed. Thanks for what you do. Big Mike.
Thank you for locking in! Always blesses me to know there are people like you who watch the whole conversation!
Exactly. I retired almost ten years ago. I want to be of service to the young homemakers today who are trying to figure it out.
Come on!
Amen to all of this. Also, "Analog Youths" is a dope turn of phrase!
@@samfayezawad 😉 sounds like a band! "Analog Youths"
Appreciate you! People need the creativity!
Oh and your mom is adorable! Tell her hello from Kentucky!
All very true!!
Bro momma just gave us the essence of a true content creator simply beautiful

So... Thank you!❤ 16:59
Love this! I hope you get some older content creators on your show to discuss their journey.
You have given me a lot of inspiration. I'm 53 and going through a rare form of cancer.. plus I worked in the film industry, the horse industry and grief counseling... i could definitely share my experiences.
yes!!
Grateful for you! Turning 45 this year! Building up the confidence and working on speaking skills to start my channel! Your videos are inspiring!
Appreciate you!
@@over40matters That's good advice. Thank you 🙏
I am 39 and I see all these young folks out here killing it on RUclips and I thought that perhaps I was "too old" to succeed in YT, but you helped me see how my age and life experience is my competitive edge. Thank you, brother. God Bless!
That was the goal! Go crush!
Glad it was helpful!
Don’t stop!
Great video - started my channel in my 50s. Wanting to be an example to other women my age - to prove we are not too old for RUclips.
Part two ✌🏼
I was thinking exactly the same.
Just start with uploading!
Thank you so much for sharing this! I’m age 58, I’ve been in ministry for years and I’ve been contemplating starting a RUclips channel but feel overwhelmed with what in particular to share. I have lived a rich juicy life ❤
Give people the juice!
Hell yeah dude. I am 44 and I started creating to show my journey from being an auto tech for 20 years and shifting into media. Love the path and the challenges and wins daily!
This has been one of your best videos. Thanks
Oh man, that blesses me. Thank you!
Yeah us! I just started my channel at 46 on productivity, balance and goals!!!!!
Let’s go!
