One thing that stuck with me from Rest is Resistance is the idea that my ancestors involuntarily worked for capitalism so I don't have to. I can rest, so I should for myself but also my ancestors. Definitely me paraphrasing. My moment of rest is acknowledging the natural world during my bus ride to work. There is a small strip of the highway that is still forest inbetween commercial businesses and residences and I give myself a moment to acknowledge it and be in that moment with it. It's a good moment.

I've been reading & hearing about a number of books recently which talk about related ideas, and reject the notion that we have to be productive to be worthy. It's such a good message! It sounds like Rest is Resistance really focuses on the exploitation of people through productivity, so that's a really great lens (the ones I've read are Laziness Does Not Exist and How to Keep House While Drowning, and Sush just read one called Quitting). One of my big efforts towards rest is going for a walk in nature each morning. It's so soothing, and I don't allow myself to listen to anything while walking - just soak in the trees and birds. And The Space Between Worlds is such a great book!

This was a great review. I especially love your comments about being mindful about emotional exhaustion and conflict as well. Enjoy the rest of your getaway 💜

Thank you so much, I appreciate your channel and I love what you are doing. It's difficult finding a good book and especially a book with the protagonist looking like me. Love & light. 🤗✨

Snatching rest: watching this in bed while petting the cats on a Wednesday (which I have dubbed Wellness Wednesday) thank you for mentioning restful relationships!

To answer your questions: 1. I’ve been snatching rest by journaling and also taking time to stretch my body. 2. I think getting more rest will give me space to be more creative about my future and allow me to show up more authentically in the present.

Would love to learn more about your dreamworking! Is there a fictional book that you can recommend that incorporates the type of dreamworking that you do or are familiar with?
