“Just because somethings ugly, doesn’t mean it ain’t delicious”. My girlfriend tells me this every day! Haha. But seriously sooooo excited for this. Gonna be starting my this now!
B@L HYPE! I've seen that exact brand of paste at the store and thought about trying it, but I've always stuck with whole beans. I use their rose water and orange blossom water as well. I'll have to give the paste a try too now!
If you got a good source for the straight beans that are more economical, I say go for it. You can also make your own vanilla extra & that can be off the hook. WAY better than the store bought stuff.
I finally was able to nab a couple of bottles of seasonal vanilla paste at Trader Joe's! It's been sold out everytime I've visited this past month. Excited to finally give this vanilla syrup recipe a try.
@@HungryHungryDude Absolutely! A big "yes" for me! Also, while on the subject, is there a particular brand of vanilla bean paste you favor? I don't see any that have ground vanilla beans as the first ingredient
We used Nielsen-Massey Pure Vanilla Bean Paste in this episode, which is pretty good stuff. But you can always make it from scratch if you would like. It is super easy.
So awesome man. Great information. I wish you could stop by my home bar and taste some of the creations I'm making and give me some pointers. Especially on my milk punch. 🥛
This is great - I made a cocktail from a bar menu that called for vanilla in two ingredients and it just wasn't hitting right. I look forward to using your approach to see if it improves the flavours.
@@BartenderAtLarge thanks yeah would love an episode on low cal cocktails or one like this on ingredients and tips and trick to reduce calories without reducing flavour!
It will stay top notch for at least a week in the fridge, but for home use if you know you won't use it all, I recommend freezing it then defrosting it when you need it again. Then it can last for ages that way.

Thanks again for some great knowledge!
Cheers, my friend! Happy to share & I appreciate you taking the time to tune in!
Aha! Just in time. I can start whittling down the list of cocktail recipes that feature vanilla syrup!
If you would like we could do a future episode that features more recipes with vanilla syrup if y'all want.

@@BartenderAtLarge I think one of us underestimates just how lazy the other can be... :)
After spending $14 on a single vanilla bean, I'm stoked to hear about this recipe. Thanks my man!
The struggle is real. They used to be cheap as hell, but now it damn near costs a kidney 🤣

Bro! Milk Punch with vanilla syrup would be crazy good!

Keep me posted! I hope it works out for ya!
New York Sour?!
That would be so good! Did you end up trying it?
I’ve tried using vanilla bean paste from my bar and it just does not shine through at all in cocktails. Even 4 Tablespoons for a half liter of syrup
It is tricky cause it all depends on the brand. The ones I have had the most luck with our the ones that come from restaurant supply.
Vanilla syrup 🤔🤔🤔🤔
What cocktails require vanilla syrup?
Boom! Looks like you just inspired a new episode for the show.
Thanks if I wanted to make this for a calorie conscious friend is there any recommendations for how I substitute sugar?
You know what. This might be a good idea for a future episode. Hmmmm.....🤔

How long can I store your vanilla syrup?

@@BartenderAtLarge thank you! Made the cocktail yesterday, of course it was a banger!
Phrasing man, work on your phrasing! 😄
