The distress you have at not being able to drag out a hundred books to make a mess with them is just to show us them is palpable and I just can NOT relate 😂
I’ve followed you for a few years now and I can see a massive difference in what you’re making and love it so much! When you move into your new home it’s going to be incredible experience for you, Ash and Tobu 🐾🥰
The ravencycle audiobooks are incredible by the way! I listen to the almost once a year. Those characters and stories are such a comfort to me. Dream Thieves is one of my favorite books ever
I love your LOTR vlog. It's my favorite video you've ever done, too. Thank you for making it. I even got emotional at the end. The series and films are very dear to my heart. 😘✌🏾
I started watching you recently when I wanted to know what happens in The Vampire Diaries books and loved it. I laughed so hard! And I’ve been watching your vlogs where you go to the cabins and the haunted castle, too. My mom and I laugh so hard at your paranoia. I would love to see you do a scary Nancy Drew game like Shadow at the Waters Edge. There are 34 games and most of them are great! I hope moving to your new home is going well!
I'm so glad you're doing better and I'm excited to see what you think of The Raven Boys! It is maybe one of the only few books where I have felt super attached to the characters.
It makes my heart shine to see that you are in a much better place and you will have the home you have dreamed of for you and the boys. Your channel has definitely bloomed with this change and you have certainly got the passion back which is evident in so many ways. It is cracking to see it really is x
Have a book recommendation for you: The Betrayal of Thomas True, this is a beautiful book and shit me it made me absolutely sob. It was about The Molly houses in London, it is a genre bending book and would fit anyone. I have just reviewed it on my booksta profile. It is my book not the year so far. Spectacular writing and my goodness when you think you have got it you haven’t and then you get smacked in the heart so hard.
Ohhh I love the questions you added to the tag!!! 😍 I’m also so excited to read Horror Movie and The Ministry of Time! I am here for the horror movie vlog idea that would be so fun 👏
I'm so ill atm and just wanted you to know that you're my official 'woe is me I'm feeling so sorry for myself' company 😂😂 Your videos are such a soothing presence!
Looking forward to all the videos you mentioned, so excited!! Also it's so heartwarming seeing you this happy with your content, it really shines through 🥰
'The Will of the Many' has been my favourite new read this year. 'The Moontide Quartet' by David Hair has been my favourite re-read. The audiobook is one of my favourites too.
The Will of the Many is one of my top books of this year also!! It blew me away and I have the ebook of the first in that trilogy you mentioned on hold at the library. I absolutely LOVE the Raven Cycle books so I hope you do too 🤞🤞🤞
This is always one of my favorite videos from everyone! Your LOTR vlog was one of my favorites so far this year but also you ripping that last Princess Diaries book in half is pretty iconic. Also, before you jump into Parable of the Sower I highly HIGHLY recommend looking up caution/trigger warnings. I didn't and I fully regretted it by about 20 pages in.
I love that kindred is one of the best books you've read so far this year! I booked a ticket for an event with ML Rio for graveyard shift so I definitely need to read it as well. I need to read chuck tingle's horror as well. I think I am going to read camp damascus first but I am intrigued by bury your gays as well. Love that before I let go could surprise you! Maybe you'd like get a life chloe brown as well? YES RAVEN CYCLE VLOG. One of my all time favourite series of all time. I am v scared but I do hope you love the books :3
Great to know that you feel good about your channel, recently your content has brought me a lot of joy so thank you so much for sharing your videos with us!! And I discovered The Summer Hikaru Died thanks to you and I LOVE it so I'm so grateful for that too!!! Also the books with the most beautiful cover that I got this year have to be Heaven Official's Blessing 🥰
Glad you're having a better year this year ❤ My favorite of this year so far is All that's left in the world. Second favorite is The shadow of what was lost by James Islington. Going to read the sequel now Worst book is definitely The last house on Needless Street. I found that one to be really problematic. Would have dnfed it, but it was for my book club, so did finish it
I love the egghead arc in one piece. My favorite part about it though is we get to learn more about Kuma and he has become one of my favorite characters in one piece in general, so this arc is very special.
If you want more Sci Fi, I highly recommend The Mars House by Natasha Pulley. It has fake dating romance trope, they/them representation, political intrigue, and it's fast paced and well written. It has been one of my top reads so far this year, along with The Will of the Many by James Islington. The two are different in plot, world building, and character arcs, but the intrigue in both had me hooked.
I’m so happy you loved Kindred, and you’ve made me very interested in Spy Family (either the manga or anime). Your Lord of the Rings vlog was the GOAT!!! 🧙♂️
I can't recall which Emily Henry books you've read, but I would have to recommend People We Meet on Vacation or Funny Story. I think they PWMV is funny but has a lot of emotional yearning and Funny Story is higher in humor and navigating through personal/family drama, so I feel like one of those might have potential for you! I, personally, loved Happy Place but that one is so hit or miss that I wouldn't recommend it for you in case you landed on the negative side and decided to give up on her hahaha.
Gavin, you should join Kayla and the Booksandlala besties for the Raven Cycle reread/first read! Also, best of luck with your move! I'm excited to watch your Summerween vlogs.
I have been loving all of your content this year. I feel like it really comes across in your content that you are happier with it so it was great to hear that is true! I am really looking forward to the move and seeing everything that comes with it for you! As for me, this has been a pretty terrible reading year for me overall. I have been in such a bad slump and have not been able to get myself to read even though I have really wanted to. I did re-read my all time favorite though 'The Stories of Ibis' by Hiroshi Yamamoto (which I would highly recommend). I also finally read the Tea Dragon series and it was SO CUTE! In terms of worst book, I read 'Asylum' by Madeleine Roux and did not enjoy it very much.
The Wheel of Time: The "slog" is debatable. I did not experience the slog and I'm not alone in that. The character development over those books, and yes I know it's a lot of pages, but it's so worth it.
wwwaaiiiittt you should read the shadowhunters book series I would actually love to hear what you think of it and I'm going to honest it was my favorite book in highschool so I'm not sure how it holds up
Ive been diving into film themed horror, too! I just finished Experimental Film by Gemma Files and while I don’t think it’s for everyone, I really enjoyed it. It is cosmic horror but I loved the way it mixed real film history with occult history to create this fake historical figure that seemed very real. If you must have a likable protagonist, this won’t be for you. (I actually sympathized with the main character quite a lot, though). I have Ancient Images by Ramsey Campbell on my waitlist…it’s a horror story about a lost Boris Karloff/Bela Lugosi film and seems very 80s campy so could be great or terrible. 📽️
I've really enjoyed the growth of your content! Here are my answers to the booktag questions: 1. My reading year has gone slow, but had some good books. No five star read yet though. 2. Non-fiction: The Radium Girls by Kate Moore; Fiction: 60% through The House of Hades by Rick Riordan and it feels like that is going to be my first 5 star this year! 3. Haven't reread anything this year. 4. One Piece, since that is the only manga I read this year 5. Have to say The House of Hades again for this one 6. I don't really keep track of new releases so not sure 7. Same answer as 6 8. The Alice Network by Kate Quinn, I hated one of the povs 9. Same as 8 10. The Radium Girls, really didn't expect to love a non fiction that much 11. I really enjoyed Good Omens, was already familiar with Neil Gaiman's writing but not with Terry Pratchett, so I'll say him and hope to read some stuff that he wrote on his own 12. Percy Jackson has really grown on me this year haha 13. Haven't read any book that made me cry or even close to crying this year 14. I really love the paperback edition of House of Earth and Blood, it's so gorgeous 15. I really want to reread Wheel of Time this year! The rest of the questions are booktube relates which I don't make videos so won't answer. I look forward to the content you'll bring us the rest of this year! And good luck with the move ❤
The most beautiful book I have right now is Where the Dark Stands Still. Haven't read it yet but even if I don’t like it I'm probably going to keep it just for the artwork.
I haven't read *much* but favorite covers I've read: Piranesi's (by Suzanne Clark) origonal blue and gold cover is honestly beautifully done, just wish it didn't the slightly cut off thing, then I would be happy. And The Bringer the the Scourge (by M. Daniel McDowell) Is beautiful in the art style and reminds me of the 90s. I know it was more her picking it for a Derby but damn, that art style always has me giddy to pick it up and continue reading and it's a short book to boot. (It's about the same length if not shorter as Piranesi, so 255 pages, though I think Piranesi is slightly longer? Also a note: you can only get this book in Ebook format (no audiobook or physical) but there is a chance that you may see it in your library app so keep that in mind.) Of the ones I picked up this year: God Killer by Hannah Kaner honestly had me extreamly intrested in reading it by the cover alone and I'm excited that I have it now to read when I have the chance to. And when I heard what the story is about by Elliot Brooks on YT, I was sold. Not because I've read/played the Witcher, but because the world sounded so intresting. Ninth Rain by Jen Willims has me really excited to start the first book (and actually read the whole series because those covers are so intresting), Also Elliot Brooks talking about it on YT had me wanting to try it due to the premisis but the cover always stuck with me. Bookshops and Barbarians by Morgan Stang is beautiful in a graphic design standpoint, reminding me of those old school Barns and Noble collector sets for classics and Fairytale collections. But it doesn't have the price of those books. (I know Merphy Napier didn't like this book but I personally really liked the premsis of it and it's nice to rotate some heavier stories with cozier ones) And a bit of a cheat but the cover always comes to mind when thinking of my favorites: The Bone Theif's Tale by Heleen Davies, at least the version I got is what got me picking it up from Stuff your Kindle Day. This one wasn't recommended to me by anyone but omg The cover is hauntingly beautiful. It's like if you took the concept of narrative Surrealism, mixed in the Vanitas still lifes paintings by the Finnish and you have the perfect marriage of the feeling that this book gave me (What got me pick it up was the fact that it was a Retelling of the Little Mermaid with Hades and Persephone mix in there) I could go on and on with beautiful bookcovers that got me to read the summery and then pick up the book but this is the shortest list I could make.
Oh man, i wouldnt know where to start a mid year freak out tag video. However, I have to say the most beautiful book i own is my cloth bound penguin classics version of Bram Stokers Dracula. 😊
I hope you like the Raven Cycle. Please don't listen to the audiobooks for that one! They're kind of terrible. Thanks for all the great videos so far this year! Can't wait to see everything else to come.
Thirsting over manga characters is also the bane of my existence. 😂 that’s such an apt saying because I rue the day that the universe made us 3D and not all manga hotties!
Gavin! There's a 3rd one coming up in October: Everyone this Christmas has a secret! Btw, is it me or does it look like it's the same picture on "Horror movie" and "Home is were the bodies are" covers, only the orientation is different? lol
I've read 3 Simone St. James books, but not Murder Road, as it's too new for me to request from another library. The fact that it's your worst read of the year so far has me a little concerned. If you do decide to give her another chance, I recommend The Broken Girls or The Sun Down Hotel, both of which were among my favorite reads last year. I'm currently trying to get myself out of a reading slump.
Hi Gavin! Wondering if you have ever read any Danmei? I obviously do not know all the books you own or have read but I am curious if that is genre you would be interested in
Gavinaissance. Loving it. Camp Damascus was so good. I am excited for Bury Your Gays. Just got Craig’s book, so excited to get started on it I am excited for T.J. Klune’s sequel to House In The Cerulean Sea, coming out in fall. Benjamin Stevenson also has a Christmas Everyone in my family book coming out in late October.
Sun down motel by st. James was not better for me. Her writing is not favorable and doesnt bring alive the plots of her books. More bogs it down. So its not a surprise most people dislike murder road. Alot of people love her though. I don't.
If you love the idea of "The Ministry of Time", you should watch the Spanish TV Show it has plagiarized. It's actually very good. It's called "El Ministerio del Tiempo" (which translare to "The Ministry of Time") ❤️
@@GavinReadsItAll They did. The Spanish national TV (RTVE) even sent a burofax to the BBC asking about it (since the BBC bought the rights to make a TV show out of it). Even if people said it was debunked, El Ministerio del Tiempo was available for streaming in the UK at the time the book was being written. And, I mean, who wouldn't google the name of their book before choosing it? The first result is the TV show that has the same premise as the book. It seems kind of «weird», isn't it? 😂 By the way, Goodreads has deleted many of the reviews that pointed this out
LOTR trilogy is elite! I can read them over and over and over 🥹 Also yessss Spy Family is so good! I totally get having a fictional crush on lloyd 😏 Ahhhh 😩 I will not stand for the Magnolia Parks slander 😭😅
The distress you have at not being able to drag out a hundred books to make a mess with them is just to show us them is palpable and I just can NOT relate 😂
I always freak out when I see Mid Year Book Freak Out videos going up because then I realize we’re halfway through the year 😂
I’ve followed you for a few years now and I can see a massive difference in what you’re making and love it so much! When you move into your new home it’s going to be incredible experience for you, Ash and Tobu 🐾🥰
Mid-Year Freakout Tag for me is having a crisis of too many books at home I haven’t read lol
I clutched my pearls in relief when you said you will read the entire ravencycle and not just first/last. Book 2 and 3 is my faves 😂❤❤
It makes me very happy to hear that you are much happier with your channel this year and that you are doing so amazing!!! Love you lots Gav ❤❤

Gav, I love seeing you so happy ❤ you are a wonderful person my friend.
7:39 Thank you for introducing us to this! So cute
(Also, I was about to call it ‘Heartstopper’ with adults)
It makes my heart shine to see that you are in a much better place and you will have the home you have dreamed of for you and the boys. The struggle of the books being in boxes!! 😂 soooon, they’ll be out soon!!!
So glad you liked the will of the many! My top book of all time for sure.
Yes! Kindred is one of my favorite books of all time! Glad you enjoyed it….
Ahhh I can’t wait for the Summerween vlogs 🥹🥰
Ahh I'm so excited for Grave Yard Shift!!
I'm glad that you are looking a lot happier now! I got to say your Lord of the Rings vlog is a definite favorite.
Looking forward to all the videos you mentioned, so excited!! Also it's so heartwarming seeing you this happy with your content, it really shines through 🥰
The joy I feel when I get a new Gavin video on my feed!!
Oh yes please I would love a Raven Cycle series video! I’m reading it this year and loving it, would love to know your thoughts 🐦⬛
I'm so excited to see you read The Raven Cycle!! 🥰💜🤍💖
Ohhhhhh your idea of reading horror movie books and horror movie sounds so good!
Loid really is daddy ❤
Oh I need to read Raven Cycle too.
'The Will of the Many' has been my favourite new read this year. 'The Moontide Quartet' by David Hair has been my favourite re-read. The audiobook is one of my favourites too.
Listened to the ministry of time on audio and absolutely loved it !!!
The Will of the Many is one of my top books of this year also!! It blew me away and I have the ebook of the first in that trilogy you mentioned on hold at the library. I absolutely LOVE the Raven Cycle books so I hope you do too 🤞🤞🤞
Ohhh I’m so looking forward to your moving vlogs. I love to watch them! I remember your excitement when you moved in to this apartment 😊. Thanks!
This is always one of my favorite videos from everyone! Your LOTR vlog was one of my favorites so far this year but also you ripping that last Princess Diaries book in half is pretty iconic. I absolutely LOVE your Lord of the Rings vlog and have already watched it multiple times! I’m excited for the nunnery vlog. 😊
You reading the lying game books inspired me to reread the whole vampire diaries series, and it's so bad but much fun lol
I love this tag every year!
Glad you're having a better year this year ❤
My favorite of this year so far is All that's left in the world. Second favorite is The shadow of what was lost by James Islington. Going to read the sequel now
Worst book is definitely The last house on Needless Street. I found that one to be really problematic. Would have dnfed it, but it was for my book club, so did finish it
I reckon those cushions should be packed by now Gav.. not long to go.. Can't wait to see you in the new home.. 😉😉
I looooved Ministry of Time!! I hope you love it!
Your content has been so enjoyable this year! So happy to hear you're satisfied with your content too. ❤
I love the egghead arc in one piece. My favorite part about it though is we get to learn more about Kuma and he has become one of my favorite characters in one piece in general, so this arc is very special.
Fun fact - I have been a patron for one year now lol I remember this video last year XD I loved evert moment
Come to Tasmania and hang out and read my favs! That would be amazing! 🤣
Word of the Day: Gavinnaissance
Gavin, you should join Kayla and the Booksandlala besties for the Raven Cycle reread/first read! Also, best of luck with your move! I'm excited to watch your Summerween vlogs.
10:18 2 covers that have VHS. I wonder if this is a pattern…
I have been loving all of your content this year. I feel like it really comes across in your content that you are happier with it so it was great to hear that is true! I am really looking forward to the move and seeing everything that comes with it for you! As for me, this has been a pretty terrible reading year for me overall. 4:50 Happy to hear you read this!
The Will of The Many is so good!! It's one of my favorites. The wait for the sequel has been painful, but I'm sure it'll be worth it!
Beat & Motion is my favorite new manga series. Only 30-odd chapters out but I got so emotional 😭
The Wheel of Time: The "slog" is debatable. I did not experience the slog and I'm not alone in that. The character development over those books, and yes I know it's a lot of pages, but it's so worth it.
I loved Kindred as well! Parable of the Sower is a wild book, curious to see what you think about it.
I think your Titanic video was one of the first I watched. So niche it may be, but it was my kind of niche ❤
Hi! Gavin, when is your Egypt trip?? How exciting!!
I want to get into Octavia Butler books so bad!
Love life for you right now Gav ❤
wwwaaiiiittt you should read the shadowhunters book series I would actually love to hear what you think of it and I'm going to honest it was my favorite book in highschool so I'm not sure how it holds up

The most beautiful book I have right now is Where the Dark Stands Still. Haven't read it yet but even if I don’t like it I'm probably going to keep it just for the artwork.
me trying not to take it personally when you talk about hating book lovers 😭 lol
Please read throne of glass all of them lol not just the first and last 😂
I loved Book Lovers! But I did not care for Murder Road either. I also enjoyed The Last Murder at the End of the World.
Please don’t give up on Simone St James books lol. The Sun Down Motel is way better and is a fun/spooky read.
I love watching you!
Loid is my fictional crush too. Rarely get them anymore but Loid Forger did something to me.
The Last Murder at the End of the World does not get less boring unfortunately.
I haven't read *much* but favorite covers I've read:

Not me DNF'ing so many books/manga you loved haha, it's funny how different someone's reading taste can be :D
I hope you like the Raven Cycle. Please don't listen to the audiobooks for that one! They're kind of terrible. Thanks for all the great videos so far this year! Can't wait to see everything else to come.

I loved The Last Murder at the End of the World! How far did you get? There are twists...

have you read You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty by Akwake Emezi? I think you'll like it!
Not me giving Murder Road 4 stars 😅😅
Not leave it in the drafts 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
💚🖤
Why is it that this is the video that’s making me delusionally think I can daily vlog Summerween?? 🤔🤔🤔
Please do it 👏
Have u read things not seen by Andrew Clemens? If so I'd love to your thoughts 💭 I just started reading it.
🤟🤟🤟🤟
Gavinaissance. Loving it.
Camp Damascus was so good. I am excited for Bury Your Gays.
Just got Craig’s book, so excited to get started on it
I am excited for T.J. Klune’s sequel to House In The Cerulean Sea, coming out in fall. Benjamin Stevenson also has a Christmas Everyone in my family book coming out in late October.
How many books have you read so far this year?
I gave ministry of time a 3 star 🥹
funny story emily henry's latest book is so good
Ooooooo I’m FIRST 🎉🎉😂
First in my heart too ❤️
Sun down motel by st.
It's called "El Ministerio del Tiempo" (which translare to "The Ministry of Time") ❤️
WAIT THE AUTHOR STOLE FROM A SHOW?! Omg I had no idea!
@@GavinReadsItAll they didnt btw that was debunked
I can read them over and over and over 🥹
Also yessss Spy Family is so good! I totally get having a fictional crush on lloyd 😏
Ahhhh 😩 I will not stand for the Magnolia Parks slander 😭😅
Desi I love everything about you, including your flaw liking Magnolia Parks hehehe 🫶
