      I think the wide shot after Jack "gives up" on saving Charlie sells it. It is the kind of shot that takes you to the commercials or the end of an episode.

    Remember, Jack dislocated his shoulder like “2 days ago”, those things take weeks to recover (and possibly never fully recover), so that’s why Jack’s not really good at combat right now, I guess.
    Evangeline Lily’s acting performance was amazing. You can say whatever about the character, but the actress is pretty skilled.
    The more we see Jack, the more we see his hero complex. He always tries his best for everyone, but he’s not always effective. But sometimes, trying is what it takes to get things done, like literally saving people like in this episode.
    The more we see Locke, the more he seems wise and amazing. But he’s more on the paternalistic side, he always put himself on a higher standpoint. It’s like he’s collaborative, but only when you do as he says.Taking your own path brings you in interesting places, but you have to abandon the rest of the group’s goal (in this case, looking for Claire)
    Charlie was technically dead! First death of the main group, but maybe Charlie is like a cat, maybe he has 9 lives!

    • @reatores
      @reatores  2 месяца назад +1

      I agree with absolutely everything you said. Good parallel betweem Jack's and Locke's way of helping people.
      Evangeline never fails to get me teary on that scene. Very good performance!

    Every time you break into your 'Patreon outside Brazil' announcement, I suddenly really miss Ju and Hugo doing it 😊 But, omg, this crew is just so awesome! Love how they are remembering the little details and connecting dots (don't think I've ever seen someone immediately realise what Jack's mum meant). And Mayra's reaction to Charlie's 'death'/recovery was just ❤

    Damn, bro. 😅
    Well edited the thing with Charlie. I don't know why I'm crying EVERY time. 🤔🤭
    They edited that so well. With the music and all. Around 21:00, you are SURE that he's dead. Those bastards are emotionally manipulating us! 😅🤭
    Great reaction from everyone, too!

    • @reatores
      @reatores  2 месяца назад +1

      That's so true... they edited it in a way that you really believe he's dead! Thanks!

  • @astragalusson
    @astragalusson 2 месяца назад +2

    I'll keep talking about the "should touch" moment. Jack's father managed to finally convince Jack to sign the "fixed" report by ending his speach with the seemingly emotional shoulder touch BUT Jack later saw he used the same touch to convince the dead patient's husband not to sue, which made Jack see it was a manipulation rather than a sincere moment between father & son. That moment I think pushed Jack near the edge and the pregnancy issue later became the last straw and pushed him off the edge. It seems to me that the husband scene was solely there to show us the shoulder touch, the director even zoomed in his hand in slow motion but almost nobody talks about it in reactions. I doubt I caught it on my first watch either, by the way. I just hoped you'd said something in the end, Rodrigo but I know this is an eventful episode, so I understand not remembering that one subtle moment. :)

    • @reatores
      @reatores  2 месяца назад +1

      I love that!
      I think the previous group noticed that shoulder touch... if I'm not mistaken.
      That touch triggered Jack and it's definetely a huge part of the character arc building.
      Yeah, I forgot to mention that one.

    It's funny, I like to defend Jack's dad from time to time, but with how stubborn and difficult Jack is in this episode, I feel like I don't even have to. 😅

    very very very very subtle SPOILER ahead that doesn't really say something. Just a very minor hint about the direction the show NOT going to take in the very near future:
    Still be aware that it has a clue-ish spoiler value.
    So, you might choose not to read it.
    Consider yourself warned:
    Smart but still naive people hoping to see that metal thing open and find Claire in it, right in the same episode!!!! :D

    Essa quase morte do Charlie é complicada.
    O Jack esta correto com o que fez com o Pai mas acho que ele deveria ter tentado se aproximar dele para ajudar ele após ter feito isso.
    O Sawyer e o Sayid meio que se entenderam que tudo que rolou passou do limite.
    Boone seguindo o Locke seria eu na ilha.

    Charlie's "death" still had its effect. 😄 Especially on Mayra
    Charlie's finger bands were first FATE, then LATE. Those who search for him find the first 3 letters but the last one remains on his hand as he hangs. As if his fate was not over or that it was not yet too late to save him.

    I've always seen the punching during the CPR as a "jolt to the heart", since Jack has no defibrillator.
    Does anyone know if there is any scientific accuracy to this method?
    Also, just normal chest compressions, if done correctly, will break the ribs. Charlie would be in pretty rough shape after this.

    • @reatores
      @reatores  2 месяца назад +1

      Yeah, for drama purposes, I think it works, but I remember in the previous group, I think it was Ju who questioned it. I don't remember anyone actually answering it though.
