No, it's not. Her voice, like her body got older. This is not the original angelic voice. Completely two different voices. But this is absolutely natural. We all age in time. Even our shadows age!

I honestly cant tell you how thrilled I was to discover Maggie Reilly was a fellow Scot. My older brothers girlfriend at the time bought him this single. After they broke up he never ever played it. I used to sneak in his room and play it because i loved it so much. Everytime i hear it it brings back treasured memories of a childhood and a world where life was so much simpler. After my daughter was born, I got back into Mike Oldfield's music mainly to help my girl fall asleep and simply expose her to amazing music. When she was in preschool, she came to love this song. She's 12 now and occasionally this song will come on a shuffle and I can see a smile on her face. She's musically inclined like me and her mom, and I can totally see her and I performing this song at some point! Maggie still has it, thanks for your gift!

@@Mannizilla Haha! Yeah... The Songs of Distant Earth was one she used to fall asleep to. She also really liked "The Bell". I have a video of her as a toddler "playing piano" to this song and I strongly believe that it helped her learn different musical sounds. As I said in my OP, she's very musically gifted.

This video appeared on my feed for some unknown logarithmic reason and I knew the tune from my days of listening to Mike Oldfield in the '80s. I figured this will be a tired old song sung by a tired old singer trying to stay relevant beyond the use by date. I was wrong... so very wrong. This whole performance by all involved was amazing and pure joy to watch. Every note, every beat was perfect. It reminded me of what music used to be, what it still is when played like this without the AI, without the autotune and without the damned horrible pitch correction that modern music relies on so heavily. My apologies to Maggie for my uneducated initial reaction. You are awesome!

If you mean the correct key because her voice is now slightly deeper, then yes you are correct. It's not in the same key as the original though. The original was in E and this is in E-Flat. (A semitone lower)

The first record I can remember listening to, 40 years ago... I must have played it dozens of times on our old music centre, and I knew all the words by heart. I was only five years old, and thinking about it - it's really not an appropriate song for that age! I didn't care, though, bawling out the words as it played.
Then one day my mum produced a large, chunky set of headphones... "These are called headphones", she said, "and they plug in here. You can't sing when wearing them." Amazing, I thought, even though it meant I couldn't sing along any more. Sneaky old mum! And thank you to Maggie Reilly and Mike Oldfield - this will always be "my song".

A wonderful great pop song, but I've enjoyed many other songs as well: To France, Tricks of the Light (a super great song!!), Family Man, Orabidoo, Foreign Affair, Crystal Gazing, all these songs impossible without Maggie's wonderful voice and talent, I've been enjoying them for decades and will love them forever!

I literally just found out a moment ago that this is a Mike Oldfield. And as 10 year old I thought she sang: "Moonlight Shuttle" because the space shuttle was the next important thing in my life next to music :D And I sang it outside and my neighbour (6 years older) explained to me that it was a Moonlight Shadow. Oooooh.... Suddenly the darkness in the video made sense to me :D
