Thanks for putting my youth into words.... people always thought I was okay. But i made it out okay?? Yeah... I did. Sometimes you learn more from a bad example as from a good one....
I joined my first band (keyboards) years ago. The lead singer was a female, and she chose this as the first song we'd learn. I'll never forget that first song of our group or Suzanne for the gift of this song.
I fell in love with Ms Vega the first time I heard her voice. I am older now and am close to leaving this world. I wish I can see her concert with my children and grandchildren. Anyway, Suzanne, you made my life more beautiful and I thank you!
Absolutely brilliant, what an amazing song, fantastic music, spectacular vocals. This song gives such contradicting feelings including sadness, anger, and helplessness. It's a narrative a lot of us have seen and/or experienced in our lives . It really pulls on my heart strings.
Suzanne still sounds so beautiful singing this timeless masterpiece of hers on guitar after 31 years and I am so touched. This lovely song itself was always enjoyed listening to after all these years. It never gets old at all. They just don't write wonderful songs like this one anymore. She's a real legendary artist. God bless her!!!! 🙏🙏
❤noi di quegli anni siamo così malinconici e ci mancano così tanto tutte quelle cose che componevano quei momenti dai sentimenti artisti modo di stare insieme ……
This song is from 1987, the era of real great music. I was 8 when it come´s out and loved it instantly. Super song! And by the way, i like tha bassplayer here.. .
Thanks for this Masterpiece. I bought the "Solitude Standing" cassette in 1993 and Gratefully, still own it. This Presentation, with Full Orchestra, almost brought Me to tears. She's Beyond Wonderful and I thank You, Again.
Thanks! In France, at the begenning, we listened to this song with a kind of happiness, then discovered and understood the lyrics! A drama! We have more or less the same in our country. Two examples: "The black Eagle" from Barbara, which describes without mentioning it a "night incest". "The Puppet" from Maxime Le forestier, which describes "an intimate relationship with a 15 years girl". Shame on us!
this song resonates with me now in a way it did not when i heard it and was young, now i am older i understand every word so hard it hurts and makes this song timeless and full of meaning, and if u want to understand what i mean or w what you have just read ..... just don't ask me anymore

@@Spugedelia77 indeed
After 30 something years, the meaning and feeling still intact.
Да, что-то мы помним очень хорошо..
The paradox is how calming this timeless track is given the dark subject matter.
The 80'S and the true music...❤
Suzanne is simply like a really expensive wine that gets better and better as it matures
Beautiful songs, beautiful voice, beautiful lady ❤
Well described

This is such a beautiful song, but at the same time it is a very sad song about how cruel human beings can be. Brings tears to my eyes.

Très belle chanson. Elle n'a rien perdu avec le temps.

She opened for the Dead some years ago. She was surprised to find that they knew her music, Jerry recognises talent.
