This was the first music album I bought myself based solely on the album cover! Every song on ride the lightning is a banger. Creeping Death is straight up biblical!
Great song, James is for sure one of the best guitar players and singers, writer, but don't forget about those drums, he has one of the best drummers ever.😊
That is the electric chair. The song ' Ride the Lightning" in which the album is named is about capitol punishment. You should give it a listen. It's my favorite song on the album !
Before my 20th, I listened to this nonstop. So much so that my cousin became concerned. He kept checking on me knocking once in a while. I had the date set to take my life by pills in an overgrown field where I wouldn't be found or resuscitated. I ended up meeting the father of all 3 of my children just beforehand. We ended up going through an adoption with our first born. We chose the name Jonathan as did the adoptive parents, coincidentally. Found out later it means gift Gift of God. We gave our first born to a married couple that had been through the wringer several times at the last minute. They couldn't conceive. So with us, they were blessed. We still have a relationship with him today as he does with his siblings. Glad it's more open now for adoption. I don't know my own father, and my mother died at 35 when I was 6. Grateful we love each other!
I was in the worst place mentally at a time maany years back, didn't give a F about what happened with me or my life. There were so many days I was praying to check out of this world. Most days actually... but I don't feel like that anymore. I got out of that pit now many years later, I should say, but I'll always remember this song was one of the very few lights in my life those past days. I cried to the song, thought of ending it all to it more times than I can recall. I guess those tears made me stronger when there was absolutely nobody else by my side when I sought for someone daily, till I realized we only have ourselves, and decided I won't ever surrender.
Bro, you gotta do this song from the 1991 Moscow concert. It’s so good. I think it’s the best live version of it ever please and thank you. Great reaction.
I'd say this song has been an outlet for hopeless feelings thru out my life. Even to this day I still go back to it to get myself and life back in focus. I'm glad you're willing to open yourself to this song. Listen to, My darkest hour by Megadeth
Bro, I’m in for your Metallica journey, my first stop at your channel. I’m a 5 year vet on RUclips music reactions seen thousands of channels 10s of thousands of personalities come and go and Your personality is one that people gravitate t words. Love the channel 🤘🏻love from Minneapolis. 🇺🇸
It's about suicide. But James used the feeling of despair when he had his guitars stolen, to convey the feelings and emotion required as inspiration. To add context. James's guitars was all he had. He had already been orphaned and his one thing to cling to was then stolen. Kind of like when they killed John Wick's dog. And to add further context, they were able to be stolen because he was so high and drunk in general during every aspect of his life. Leading to further hopelessness.
@@KingNothing2x4 Yes I agree. The Marshall amp that was from his, at this point, dead mother, no doubt created emotion that contributed to this masterpiece. I started my guitar at 12. Both of my parents died when I was 15. I am 42. Is still have the guitars and amps my deceased parents bought me 30 years ago. They mean a lot to me
This has always been my favorite metallica song check out a band called bloodywood song jee veeray its an anti suicide song they are a indian folk metal band that sing about many social issues and have a very intriguing song

I've been there, wanted to be dead. Sometimes I still do, but then realize I would leave behind my wife, daughter, family, etc. Sober now over 7 yrs its a bit easier, but still hurts every now and then.
