I remember one of the biggest factors that made me unsure about pursuing surgery was the classic archetype of the "mean cold heartless surgeon". The feeling once you meet your first kind-hearted gentle surgeon and realize that being surgeon doesn't necessarily mean losing your personality in the process. It's a liberating feeling and it's so nice seeing this trend emerge in surgery.
