Viet I also got my Vircos suit for my BMW M 1000RR with many of the decals and stickers and my suit is super duper comfy and safe for me thank you so much to make a video on it
the integration of Techair under the inner lining is great! I always wonder why the suits in motoGP are made this way, but for retail it's made different?!
Vircos makes suits for Moto2/Moto3 riders and one of the satellite MotoGP riders, so I think they are able to incorporate some of the best practices/learnings from that level of racing. It's one of the big reasons why I chose Vircos!
Nice suit. They’re over 4k now. I don’t know if air bag is included. In California here, so not sure if roo is possible. I might get a jacket and pants and find someone to add the full zip since I’m in the novice/ first timer group. Nice video. Cheers.
Suit looks amazing, I want one. Prices have significantly increased though in the past year. The same setup would be >$4k now…. Ugh. I need a Black Friday sale lol
@@erezfishman778 hahaha! right?? Yeah I have to budget for their suits for sure. I hear that Dainese is coming out with a new airbag system! Maybe hold out for that?
Hey Viet, I was just chatting with you last night on Reddit about your KTM experience with Dani. Anyway, coincidentally I'm designing a custom Dainese Misano D-air suit and it's comparable in price to your Vircos, but with no logos (yet). Thanks for sharing that because I very rarely see the brand and not knowledgeable about them at all. Also, I'm pretty sure I'm going to steal your "Tran" logo/font for my suit, as I have the same exact name.
What’s up fellow Tran! :D if you work with Vircos they will design for you! Do a different variation! Hahaha Yeah I’d definitely go with Vircos over Daniese. My MugelloR is good, but there are some build quality issues like the stitching came undone in zipper area near the crotch :/ pretty irritating. And I frequently forget my back protector so a TechAir system would do away with that issue. Just my 2 cents!
Top shelf suit. I thought for being a custom kangaroo suit cost would be 3-4k alone w/o air bag. Very attractive price with air for a little over 3k. I also noticed the logo on the upper right chest so I figured, “oh, he went to Stanford.” Vircos maybe in the future for me. I’m set on Vanson custom suit, may visit them for a custom fitting. I’m curious what your next Vircos suit wiIl look like. Take care.
How do you know if someone went to Stanford? They’ll tell ya! Hahaha. I tried to do just one subtle thing, not many folks pick up on it here in TX. I’m stoked for my next one! I just placed the order fingers crossed it’ll be here in time for round 1 in Feb! Thanks as always and Happy New Year!!!
@@vtranmoto Thank you and a Happy New Year to you as well and a Merry Christmas where you gifted yourself with more “moto” goodies. Geez, you spoil yourself😝😝😝. Btw, I knew you went to Stanford even before you started describing the details of your suit. I am familiar with the PAC 12. So let me see, Stanford graduate with a post- graduate degree that buys “TOTL” toys. I don’t envy you, I’m the same way, hehehe. Anyway, enough of my chit-chat. Good luck with your 2023 racing season and looking forward to more videos.
thank you Jeff! I am using a GoPro 9 + Max Lens Mod with the Horizon lock and Hypersmooth enabled recording at 4K 60FPS. If its bright outside I swap the Max Lens with a ND filter lens so the footage isn't overexposed.
Great question. Just for context, my response is based on the assumption that you're comparing the D-Air and Tech-Air RACE variations not the Street products. In summary, the Tech-Air has numerous advantages: (1) It has more coverage of the body, so much so, that when you use the Tech-Air you do not need a separate back protector, whereas the D-Air still requires a back protector (2) The Tech-Air allows for two deployments before needing to be recharged, the D-Air gets one deployment (3) The Tech-Air vest can be removed and sent in for repairs whereas the the D-Air requires you to send the entire suit and the minimum service fee is $300 (4) The Tech-Air vest can be used with any Tech-Air compatible suit, not just those from Alpinestars but from other manufacturers like Vircos, Bison, Mithos, etc...you have a lot more variety on choice, price, and design with Tech-Air However, the D-Air suit does have some great things to consider: (1) The D-Air suit is integrated directly into the suit, reducing weight overall. In the video I compare my Mugello-R Kangaroo D-Air suit vs the Vircos Kangaroo Tech-Air, the Mugello is lighter by 2-3 lbs; you do notice it when you pick up the suit, less so when you wear it. However the D-Air is substantially lighter than the Bison Kangaroo, very noticeable in every way. (2) Related to the first point, D-Air suits are in general easier to get in and out of because of that integrated system and the top half of the suit doesn't feel awkwardly bulky/heavy --- that in mind, Vircos does an amazing job of integrating the Tech-Air vest into the suit and it is the first Tech-Air suit I've tried on that was just as easy to get in and out of compared to my Mugello-R D-Air. (3) Because the D-Air doesn't wrap around the chest like the Tech-Air, you get better airflow in the front of the body; if you're particularly sensitive to heat, I recommend wearing a perforated undersuit (Dainese has great perforated undersuits) Even though I am a Dainese owner, I would recommend going with Tech-Air vest + suit of your choice. I can't say enough great things about the Vircos Tech-Air compatible suits. Their Tech-Air compatible suits come in cowhide and kangaroo and different styles vary in price (something to consider). I hope this helps you make a decision! Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you. :)
