This is an old video I know, but I just want to reach out and say I love your pattern and I’m so excited to make this balaclava! You’re really good at what you do! as a English speaking Chicago native I’m here to tell you that you speak better English than I do most of the time! Don’t ever let these stpd old out of touch boomer Americans get to you because they have a hard time understanding a light accent. that’s THEIR problem not your problem. Don’t ever forget that you’re already intellectually above them because you chose to learn how to speak one of the most difficult languages on the planet. You speak beautiful English and you explain yourself very well. I will go to bat for you! If you ever need me to bounce somebody, that’s being awful to you just tag my @ 💜
Thank you so much for updating the video! I started one from the last one and didn’t finish it but I’ll be redoing it now. It ended up being too large for my head so explaining the measurements and measuring on camera is nice. Also appreciate the better angles too.
Hi, I hope you see this! I’m making one for a friend and I started working on the other half of the head, working hdc into the foundation chain, and idk what I’m doing wrong but ive undone my work three times because this side keeps scrunching up where my slip sts are. Now I might just be making these sts too tight but I want to make sure that’s my problem, the main slip sts area is just not looking like my other side 😅
Hello. Thanks. I have a ton of lion brand pound of love. It's so thin it a worsted 4. But looks like a DK or 3. I don't like it at all. Are you really using pound of love. BECAUSE I'd like to make this. I appreciate your help. Thank you very much.
How do I know how many stitches to crochet for the side rows. Since you make 40 stitches and crochet to 26 stitches, how many do I have to do if I do 60 stitches? I wanna make mine really baggy. Please let me know.
It's hard to say because I made it to fit my head. You can place your worked rows of 60 stitches on to your head and mark the curve. Please refer to 13:09. Thank you!
I acciedentally made mine so that all the rows are horizontal to my face on one side so when I was trying to follow how to start the other side Iw as sooooo confused
Hi there 😊 I did not keep the count, but I think I did about 70-80 it depends on how big your balaclava is! I hope that you can follow along with the tutorial. Thank you!
@@Anitacupcupcake08 no problem! And I could be wrong, I might have done 40 instead of 80 I can't remember... I just tried counting stitches of the balaclava but I couldn't really count ;-; i haven't made balaclavas recently.

How do I stop my rows from curving when I half double crochet?
How much yarn did you use in total/ how much does the finished piece weight?
I probably used about quarter of a skein, 5.2 oz.
Which is 147.4g , including the ears.
Thank you for asking :)
Is this possible with one skein??
maybe if you have big yarn

how many skeins of yarn did you use?
I used about half a skein of lion brand pound of love yarn! Or maybe less.
How did you get four out of 22 with the face measurements?
Unfortunately, I didn't get the 4inch measurement from 22inch. I placed the 4 inch on my head, and I was happy with the width so I went with it.

you could use single crochet ribbing as well. or even hdc.
