• Tignes Val d'Isere ski...
The ski resort Tignes/Val d'Isère is located in the Tarentaise (France, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Savoie Mont Blanc, Savoie, Albertville). For skiing and snowboarding, there are 300 km of slopes and 20 km of ski routes available. 82 lifts transport the guests. The winter sports area is situated between the elevations of 1,550 and 3,456 m.
Tignes and Val d'Isère are connected by lifts and slopes to form one of the largest ski resorts in France. The winter sports resort was previously called Espace Killy. It is located on the upper end of the Isère Valley. The ski resort and its slopes are partially located on glaciers. The Grande Motte Glacier in Tignes also attracts skiers in the summer. The winter sports resort at the foot of the Pointe du Montet (3,428 m) and the Grande Motte (3,656 m) offers slopes of all difficulty levels for skiing and snowboarding. It is also considered a paradise for freeriding. The men's skiing competition for the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics was held in Val d’Isère. The ski resort also regularly hosts World Cup races.

God I miss my ski trips. I moved from the UK to the Midwest and left all my Ski buddies back home. We are all now in our late 40s, early 50s and that buzz of those younger, carefree days are just a memory now. Only ever went to Val d’isere just the once but it was awesome.
Get back into it, for real, skiing is a great way to center oneself even if you are the only one heading down.
FWIW people in your generation - and mine - are now apparently thee biggest demographic in skiing, and constitute 14% of new people taking skiing up. So your youth maybe gone, but most people on the mountain will be around your age. As for me, I'm 66, and all-being-well am planning to try skiing again next season, as a mature beginner after a 35 year gap.
Mate, come home. The US is a shithole, Europe is the best!
Went skiing in January in La Plagne after a 13 year gap. After an hour back on the slopes i was skiing better than i ever have before (aided by some awesome rental skis, Rossignol hero elites.) Wondered if I'd ever ski again after visiting Saas Fee in 2011. Finances, lack of people to go with, then Covid hit. Every year there seemed to be a reason why i couldn't go. If you get the opportunity just do it. Best decision I ever made. 5th time in the Alps and every resort has something different to offer. Need to go to Austria at some point but Val-d'Isère is definitely on my list. Have done Tignes in 03. @Puzzoozoo
Great video, Ivo. I ski here every year and the “ up and over” chair always thrills even though we’ve been over hundreds of times.
Great video! One of my favourite ski areas. Always good snow on the Pisaillas glacier, even late in the season. Many happy memories and soon to return!
Thanks! ... 😀👍
I really miss val d’isere wanna go back :/
I'm going to Val d'Isere in the 2025 or 26 season, and by then I'll all-being-well be at level 5 or 6 skill, and with my own skis, so I'll be where you finished the video before I do blue runs all the way down to Le Fornet. 😊
Heading here in 3 weeks!!
Super Toll ski👍👍👍👍
Thanks for reminding me of all the happy times I had skiing and snowboarding in Val D'Isere. From the top of that T-bar on the glacier there is a quite nice itineraire off-piste run. And then you've got all the off piste going down to Le Fornet at the bottom too. I've always fancied jumping off in the middle of the 'up and over chair', Lessieres, ruclips.net/video/iwuRd7di7GI/видео.html. The ride down to the other side is do-able, but was never brave/foolish enough to do it! The main problem I have on a snowboard is that sections of what you showed are too flat, you were poling at times. That's one of the disadvantages of snowboarding. Val D'Isere has a few flats like that between Solaise and Pisaillas. Thanks again for the memories.
Thanks! ... :)
Wow, can't imagine how that must be!
So beautiful !, you should go to Zermatt in Switzerland you will love it 2😍👍
Thanks! I did ... 😀👍

We're going next March. Can't wait. Question: how did you mount your GoPro?
Standard chest mount from Ali.
Which is better val d’isere or tignes?? I have just booked to go tignes next year I am so not sure now
This is one large interconnected resort, no matter where you stay, you'll have access to everything, just make sure you have skipass for the whole area.
You can do the same, starting from Tignes, which I have done many years ago.
Yes, sure! ... 😀👍
Can I ski back again (yes also with lift back) to Solaise? Thank you.
Yes, of course!
Is there a better way to spend a morning than doing these runs on a crisp sunny day, I think not! ❤️💙🤍
