I thought then and I still think now that this was a GREAT band with GREAT orchestrations and vocals. Just balls out, pump your fist and sing loud and proud rock n' roll. I would LOVE to see this incarnation happen again.. Awesome stuff.
Wow!!!! I saw this live in Amsterdam (Paradiso) and it blew my mind, BIG TIME! Never thought I would ever be able to see this again! A very big thank you!
Wow, this is so damn good... wish I'd seen it at the time... I had no idea that Ahmet was such a performer/singer Imagining Ahmet and Dweezil still feuding as I hear they are, makes me very sad.
this had to be done by a master arranger, I'm working on arranging medley's now and each transition is a challenge, 7 minutes in and I've lost count of how many there have been.
I wanted to buy a Peavey Radio Pro 1000 kit in 1996, I had the chance to get a deal (as I was working in a music shop which were a Peavey dealer at the time and Peavey had a Yellow 4 piece shell kit they were trying to get rid of, I declined... but I have always regretted it. You never see them going on eBay... like ever. My mate's Dad has got one, and I had the pleasure of taking it on a gig once, and that regret of not picking up that kit back in '96 was even more reinforced.
Ahmet’s a coattail rider with little talent of his own. Don’t much care for his snotty, entitled attitude either. Does he play any musical instruments or just run around yowling like a stuck pig? 👎
Lol ok best Peavey medley ever lmfao wow, lots of free PV gear flying to CA after this one lmfao 😂 22:14 listen lol. So this has to be one of the best medleys ever…lots of respect for Ahmet here!
saw them in 1995 in Newcastle after Shampoohorn was released. Two and three quarter hours of utter brilliance "ACKNOWLEDGE THE RAVEN MOTHERFUCKERS! OR IT WILL FLY OF THIS MIC STAND AND FLY RIGHT UP YOUR ASSES!"
+haggai samuelson After first "discovering" this, I assumed they had to have had the whole set list predetermined because they move so smoothly between certain songs - some of the segues had to have been that way, but after seeing some of the rehearsal videos for this for this I wonder. All the band really needs is a brief cue as to what to play next, possibly a cue that is imperceptible to the audience. OTOH, that could be prone to error and I cannot see any instances where the band started playing different songs so it must have been a pre-determined set list. I have no idea really. At any rate, I love some of these song and I hate some of them too, but every time I listen to it I crack up when Dweezil says "Why are we playing all of 'Jesse's Girl", man?' and Ahmet says "Well, I thought they liked it." I don't even like Rick Springfield, but that is one among many great moments in this medley. I wish I had known about "Z" when they were happening. At the time I was still digging through the vaults of Frank Zappa's old albums and not paying attention to any new music. Ahmet cracks me up and Dweezil is a damn good guirtarist. He's not Frank, which is actually good - it would be sad if he was just a younger less experienced FZ.
+haggai samuelson I just saw Dweezil with his band. The encore was a medley of just 80s songs, somewhere in the neighborhood of 80-100 in the course of maybe 15 minutes. It was definitely all planned, there were no cheat sheets, everybody played from memory, and it was actually a lot tighter than this. I really hope somebody recorded it and it gets posted soon.
This has a very 1990s/old school Mtv-vibe: it is a goofy and random medley of rock songs from the 60s through 90s performed very well by a Zappa-led band, all on the serious-behest of a corporation but presented satirically and in a funny manner.
To think Joe Travers hates Dweezil now is ridiculous. I wore a Team Dweezil shirt at Baked Potato earlier this month where Joe Travers was drumming a Zappa Tribute show and he refused to take a picture with me because of HIS issue with Dweezil. NOT cool.
Myles Matisse I met Joe when he was playing with Mike Keneally in Edinburgh a few years back and I said I’d seen him play with Z which he said was his first big tour . I said maybe see you it with DZ next year and he said yeah will do . Next year he and a few other ZPZ members were gone .Maybe more lucrative being vaultmeister than touring with DZ ?
no matter the decade, Mike Keneally is a gift.
This is the absolutely best Medley ever. NO ONE can do this in the future again. SO GREAT!!!!
Mike Keneally is the best
TRUE!
Amen!

This is a fantastic medley, I saw them do it live and there was some Yes in it and it went 45 minutes. Outstanding! So glad there is a document of it.
this is really good and i'm not just saying it because they are my nephews! it's good!
Saw then in 1994 at the Ringe Festival, Denmark, one of the best concerts EVER !!!
Oh man, I had this mp3 back in the day and I had no idea there was video of it. This made my night :D
I also had this as an audio file back in the day. Classic and great vid. Thanks for uploading!
Amazing !! I saw them perform this at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow. God was it really 30 years ago?
I was at that - Wild !!

I love this so much.
Just like Frank, these boys could not catch on.
Modern music sucks
Remember seeing them doing slightly different version of this medley back in about 93 at the tiv Buckley- absolutely amazing gig 👌
:) best medley iv ever seen. v,funny and clever
The Zappa's Kidz never disappoint...
A to Z zupermedley !.....
Joe Travers!!!!!!!!!
Maybe if we had more fun like this in the Dweezil shows they would be way better ?
This is epic!!!! Thank you so very much for posting this.
Awesome! Love seeing the full version, thanks!
Ahmet’s just a really entertaining and physical comic and has the energy and balls to be a front man.
Meh..........
Try hard...

Not strictly commercial, this "Starz On 45" style orchestral ballet is a fine summary of pop music's influence on some readers' grandparents.
Ahmet and Dweezil should've kept Z alive!!!!!
I count 151 songs, but who knows!
I always wanted to hear the full version thank you buddy :)
brilliant
love you guys, thanks from France, irène

Assuming they're got these written down in order right? This whole thing probably took mike keneally about 35 minutes to learn.

This is a thing of beauty, and speaks loudly and rudely to me.
Meanwhile Hartley was in the VIP section laughing his ass off, and bragging about how Peavey was there for all of it.
Looks like the boys are havin' some fun, 'Peavey' style.
Insane
Ahmet and adam sandler should hook up for a concert sometime … ✌🏼🤞😍😍👌🏼
Mama had strong genes . What, No nose amongst them!. No! Lucky kids to have had a dad like Frank.
19:26 sick Axl Rose imitation
Playlist? ;)
in fcking credible !!

Wait… there’s beef? What did I miss?
Does anyone know where or why this was done? What's the context? :)
Ahmet Zappa looks a lot like Jesse Leach from Killswitch Engage / Times Of Grace here.
I really hate Ahmet, but he is a born performer.
Is there such a thing as 100 proof Vodka? lol
Stu B Yeah. 100 proof just means 50% abv.
Ahmet uses the talented ones to leach off of.Frank should have pulled out the night ahmet was conceived.
He's a wanker.
Peckers
This is ...i am in luck to stumble and get you all as a special present ....it isnt my birthday ,is it ?!? Thanks you all...
Ok may they dont suck real bad , but i dont know ?????
is it just me, but Ahmet seems like a Kramer parody
But not funny.
Ahmet is pretty cringeworthy sometimes. 🙉 🙈
He tries too hard to be whacky.
That’s another reason to dislike him. Got any others? 👎
Ahmet is a no talent hack
Yep. They literally don't need him.
