Not sure, but it's just a region visualization that is hard, the actual simulation I belieave is still smoothe on the edges. I think it just takes tha values from the painting stage.
If you want an animated character's sleeves to stay up. Or maybe a big collar or hood to stay more in place if there's a lot of character movement or wind
Think of cloth that is attached to a solid object. Like a Ribbon Medal, Sash with a metal decoration etc. Or more broadly, reducing the area of simulation similar to games.
no fade option for the solidify? to smooth the transitions etc...

the new logo looks like Magnet, the company for anime and Japanese films. The LAST logo looked like Daz Studio's icon for...Daz Studio.
