    Great review. Are you getting a set of the new ZMF Atrium in? I think you'd find those a whole lot more agreeable to your treble preferences. Not sure how Zach pulled this one off. It's incredible.

    Hey, awesome video as always. Just wanted to ask what's the best headphone purely for competitive FPS Beyer 990 or Sennheiser 560s ?

    • @gamingaudioguide9292
      @gamingaudioguide9292  2 года назад +3

      Thank you! I'd take the 560s if oval cups don't bother you at all.

    You should consider the Verite Closed. It’s similar of course but different enough to warrant its own review. The 6k peak is still there with the default Auteur pads but let me tell you I have them since December and that peak has been tamed somehow, the headphone has developed a nice rounder/warmer signature to my ears, idk if it’s really burn-in or pad wear over this period of time but that 6k used to bother me so much now it’s barely there depending on the kind of trash I’m listening to LoL and there’s no need for a tube amp with those, imo the V closed don’t sound that good on tubes.

    I love the new reviews with the the facecam I have to say you have one of the most intoxicating voice and the most soothing I've ever heard i would buy those in the black wood with the All Steel and in metal instead of magnesium configuration and the ZMF Auteur lambskin pads because there is no cowhide version or Ori pads Cowhide or ZMF Beyer+ Subs Lambskin because that would probably be the most punchy and dynamic and the smoothness and the darkest sounds signature and get a heart audio cable nylon braided cable and buy an extension with the four Penn XLR from them so I can just swap cables and connections with ease

    Very much appreciate the review. Tbh the Verite has been on my wish list for sometime but your review has steered me away more than push me to want to buy. For a pair of cans that run $2500 and requires so much outside tweaks to get them to sound good just is a no go for me. The Focal Clear MG has also been on my wish list. I'm currently using the Meze Empyreans w/ a Chord Qutest & Soloist 3XP and I love them. Occasionally I still slap on my 58x can's which I also still enjoy but my next pair of cans is def the Focal Clear MG's.

      We must be twins. I have had the Meze Empyreans for about 2 years now. First headphones I have bought over $100 when I was stuck at home during early covid with nothing to spend my money on. They are for my home office on a Decoder SMSL SU-8 and SP200 THX AAA-888 and I love them. I learned about ZMF about a month after getting the Meze and have been curious ever since as their located about 20 miles from me. 95% sure they will be my next buy set of head phones for home. That said, I have been using airpod pros at my office and decided to get a decent sounding set up here and ordered a set of the Clear MG, sitting under my desk unopened, having second thoughts about having an open backed head set at my office where folks outside my office might hear. Also, torn if at this point going the extra $1k and getting the zmfs.

      I have not. I would very much like to, but as you know, I purchase all my own items to review. I'm not saying I won't but it's not in my current plans.

    Compare the Verite Open to DT1990 pro and make that conclusions! Come on, DT1990 pro does need no EQ and are far more comfy and have far better sound stage and imaging on top of technicalities and service

    • @gamingaudioguide9292
      @gamingaudioguide9292  2 года назад +1

      a lot of opinion in there. :) personally, I have to use a passive filter with the 1990. The one I use tames the 8khz peak by 7db. Without that reduction, the 1990 is FAR more painful and fatiguing for me to wear. I cannot use it without it. So actually, I would argue the Verite is better in that regard.
      The 1990 has better imaging and sound stage. technicalities - Verite all day. It has punchier bass that extends deeper. It has a superior magnet and better voice coil.
      The 1990 is a great headphone. So is the Verite.

    • @nikolaygramchev
      @nikolaygramchev 2 года назад

      @@gamingaudioguide9292 I also have a special cable for the 8k peak and it is with a switch - for some music I have it on, for other - off. The 1990 is several times cheaper and far better for gaming, according to me. And I like it more for music also and the bass is well done for me when I run them with the Burson Soloist 3X.
      For me, the ZMF headphones are overpriced - I already got rid of the Verite, now I will do same with Eikon. They just didn't meet my expectations like Arya, HD800s, Focal Elegia, Sony Z7M2,...

    • @gamingaudioguide9292
      @gamingaudioguide9292  2 года назад +1

      @@nikolaygramchev I completely agree the 1990 is better for competitive gaming, albeit, by a small measure. I would prefer the Verite for single player gaming or movies though.
      You are basically calling out the Verite as a poor value - I don't disagree with that. I noted it wasn't for me. I get why someone would want it though. It's end game SQ, the craftsmanship is unmatched, there is a lifetime warranty on the drivers and you can actually communicate with the owner. Is that worth it for most people? I would not think so, but I get it.

      @@gamingaudioguide9292 I have the closed variant of the verite and they sound much much better than a dt1990. The dt1990s treble spike causes everything to sound a bit unnatural and at higher volumes would sound piercing in the treble. They weren't bad if eqed for the price but the Verites just have a timbre that sounds so pleasant. Never heard the open version but I hear they have similar sound signatures to the closed. The Aryas were really detailed but were too bright and lacked dynamics for me. The verite closed were a good all rounder for me and with the right pads, amp and dac pairing, they are some of the best things out there.
