Wow, 26/30 is an amazing score! A lustrum is a lesser-known term, so you're definitely not alone there...it originally referred to a five-year period in ancient Rome. I'm so glad you enjoyed the quiz and learned some new things along the way. Thanks for participating, Nic Grobler! ❤👍
The term lustrum was used in the movie Rooster Cogburn with John Wayne. It's the only time I have ever heard the term and suspect that a script writer did a lot of digging to come up with it.
29 out of 30, Dang, id never read a book with Lustrum in it. Fun quiz, simple if people read books 📚, which i devoured starting with Enid Blyton then onwards and upwards ever since. ❤ No electronic toys in my youth.😊😊
30/30 (tho never heard of lustrum. By process of elimination...most of this vocabulary (for native English speakers) could/should be used proficiently by average 10th grader (age 14-15) - tho several had more than one 'correct' answer!
A chef and a cook are not the same! A cook prepares food, a chef organizes the kitchen! Often a cook later becomes a chef, as chef he tells other cooks what to do!
@JV, thanks for taking the quiz and for your kind feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it and learned something new. Take care, and hope to see you around for more quizzes soon. ❤👍
In question 1, know that a commotion is not a cause. How often do you hear the expression something "caused a commotion?" E.g., “His rude and loud behavior caused a commotion at the meeting.” Have you ever heard anyone say a commotion caused something? Probably not. Some adjustment is required for this question & answer.
If only 20% can pass this then it’s a sad indictment of our education system.
Lustrum is not 5rs, it's a purification ceremony that occurs every 5yrs.
5 years are called Quinquennial according to Collins Dictionary. I stopped after 8 questions, this is banal.
30 of 30. If only 20% can pass this a whole lot of people can't comprehend what they read. Pathetic education system.
It is not just a bad education system but parents dont instill in their children the love of learning
26/30 I have never ever heard of a lustrum (no. 2). I learnt a few new things again in this fun quiz. Thank you!

Calling bs on question 23 answer as per the Oxford English Dictionary and all those who say they got 30/30. Correct answer is utopia and not nirvana.
Problem is that one person's utopia is another person's dystopia - Nirvana is the only answer that covers all bases.
