This video was quite helpful I have one that has been sitting for 30 years! It cleaned up great, and I order a parts saw for it. This saw has been passed on to my. My great grandfather bought it brand new can’t wait to get her running.

Just to save you guys some time, if you have a problem with the auto oiler on this model (cs-280E), it is NOT behind the clutch or of the same design as most saws, it is a brass tube about 10mm dia. with 3 O-rings and a SS piston tube in the end of it with a spring. When you take off the air filter you will see a screw head in the engine block just above and to the left of the fuel tank. This is how you adjust the oil flow, to remove it, simply unscrew it and pull it out with a needle nose vise grip. It looks like a pump that does not need to be replaced with the simplest and most efficient design I have seen.
The problem I had was it not oiling, when I finish using my saw for the season I drain all the gas and oil, what I think happened is that the pump had an airlock that kept the oil from flowing through it, after turning the adjuster screw in and out while running it started working and has been fine since.
By the way, the correct adjustment for me, showing a light spray of oil on cardboard at high rpm was 2 turns out. This is a fine little saw, I would snatch another one at a yard sale in a heartbeat!
I hope I save someone the trouble I had figuring it out.

Have one. Picked it up for 15 bucks. Owner thought it was seized. 5 minutes of carb adjustment and she runs great. Agree good back up saw to my Echo 2511T

I have one of these! Someone gave it too me said it was broke.....turns out the air passage was full of oil and sawdust. But now my carb is out of tune. What are the needle settings? I love the oil feed for the chain on this saw....and u can adjust chain oil feed too. I love this little saw

The best part of your video is you speaking about it, and not the cutting. I presently have about 15 chainsaws and might like to ad another if the price is very reasonable. What do you think a very reasonable offer would be?. The seller asking 150.00 or best offer. I'm thinking a maximum of 25.00. Your opinion appreciated.

I paid 50..but it depends on the condition. I think you could find an old stihl for that price that is a bit better.

@@design2survive Thank you for the prompt reply. I decided 15 is enough for now, unless its a super good deal. Best wishes to you for the New Year!!

@@stewartbruce2409 obviously he didn’t catch your sarcasm. Maybe because you suck at it. Maybe you’re better at sucking on this one i got for you. At a good deal.
