I made this recipe today and it was amazing. I didn't put cocoa powder or shredded chocolate in between the layers however, I did put it on the top and it was delicious. This will definitely be my go-to tiramisu recipe from now on. Thanks!!

As an Italian I would say this is close to perfect the only observation is the original does not carry whipped cream but beaten egg whites instead, on the other hand, the mixing of the eggs on a steamy base is a welcome procedure to avoid any unwanted outcomes due to the eggs not being pasteurized.
Cream cheese is not a good substitute. Do you have access to a high quality ricotta cheese? Like ricotta salata. It's a very dry and creamy ricotta. The kind used in cannoli cream. If you must use cream cheese, lighten up with sour cream and heavy cream...

This looks great, but if it has vanilla extract it isn't alcohol free. Vanilla extract has alcohol in it.
