    This book made me cry. Just simply put, it was very well written and gave justice to 2 of my absolutely favorite characters. Fleshed out their stories and kinda brought the legends framework to light in a sense as well. Yes I may be a big baby for crying, but I found it truly beautiful that someone we all knew was evil, then full of bloodlust, then became full of revenge due to heartbreak over family...and finally found her light through love. Just amazing.

    • @demetriskatsianis2396
      @demetriskatsianis2396 Год назад +1

      I think that we had witnessed some evidence of Ventress "changing" from the dark, blood thirsty side into something better even before "the Dark Disciple". First, during her first bounty mission, when she decided to break the deal and let the young girl return to her brother, then when she saves Obi Wan when he was captured by Darth Maul and Savage Opress, then again when she is convinced for Ahsoka's innocence and decides to help her prove it and, finally, when she provides Anakin with useful information which lead to the reveal of Barriss Offee as the true guilty of the assault in the temple. For sure, that was still far from the "return to the Light" thing, but we already had been given some hints...And I think that the reason for this turn was her passing the ritual of becoming a Nightsister right after she was betrayed by Dooku. This ritual was supposed to allow someone to indulge into their feelings, even the darkest of them and, instead of being consumed by them, to use them in order to achieve a goal. (btw, a Jedi Master is not able for such a task...) And, of course, her love for Vos was the completion of her formidable arc with her return into the Light, which was displayed perfectly in the form of the absolute sacrifice, that of her own life. Hands down, the best arc story of the whole CW series, too bad it never made it to the screen...

      Maybe because Anakin's complete turn into the Dark Side happened when Yoda could no longer do something about it. I think his complete turn happened when he massacred the younglings along with other Jedis. After that, things escalated really quickly. Prior to that, Yoda was sensing something disturbing in Anakin and this is why he was never granted the title of the Master (which, in return, gave him another push towards the Dark Side...)

    Asajj Ventress was one of my absolute favorite characters, I really thought we'd see more of her; I thought she'd be a more important character since she was introduced in the pilot episode of Clone Wars. I find it fascinating that she's had at least some training from the Jedi, Dark Sisters, & finally the Sith. Yet she still has good in her; I thought of her as the show's kind of mirror image of Asoka but following the Dark side rather than the Force.
    I liked to think that Palpatine saw how dangerously powerful of a duo Dooku & Asajj are as well as a legitimate possible threat, which is why he told Dooku to kill Asajj.

    • @demetriskatsianis2396
      @demetriskatsianis2396 Год назад

      You do not have to "think", this was the actual reason Sidious wanted her dead. He stated it clearly, that she had become too powerful. And I agree, Asajj was a fan favourite...Some say they would like her to have survived order 66 and see her in "Rebels". I say that "The Dark Disciple" would have been the perfect conclusion of her character if only we had seen it as a part of TCW tv series...

    Yeah, she was a one-off bad guy, but the fangirl with an unhealthy obsession with her Jedi Master Dooku that created resentment within her that sent her to the Dark Side, it was an interesting story.
    Add to that, the contest to see who could be strong enough to eliminate her saw Jango Fett victorious and gave Dooku a template for the clone army and Boba Fett.
    Frankly, I thought it was a better backstory.

She is strong and after all that she has been through she remains strong and loyal to herself in the end and finds love, the feeling oposite to the dark side that she came from. 4:32 I wouldn't say that we see little of his powers in movies, in Episode 2 he mopped the floor with Padawan Anakin Skywalker who was alredy better than most average Jedi Knights and Obi-Wan Kenobi who got a lot stronger than he was in Episode 1 at the same time, then he went toe to toe with Yoda who is pretty much #1 Jedi during the Clone Wars, more or less equal to his master Darth Sidious.
    And in Episode 3 he easily defeats Obi-Wan who got so strong that Mace Windu called him The Master of Soresu (the best Soresu practicioner ever) and was propably the only Jedi who could defeat Grievous so easily.
    And while he lost to Anakin, he's still one of the strongest characters in his time period, besides Anakin in his prime was pretty much the best duelist in The Jedi Order along with Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda and had insane amount of raw Force Power (altough he wasn't that good at using it to max potential it still showed when he was enraged).

    I’m far more interested in people who find themselves somewhere within the Gray between the two, who ally themselves with either the Republic/Rebellion or the Separatists/Empire to varying degrees due to a mixture of their own sense of morality and personal, individual reasons.
    The stark dichotomy between Light/Dark or Good/Evil feels so stale and overdone.
