I think there is a need for countries that use the Jury Judicial System to educate the general masses on the ingredients or what constitutes an act as a crime especially the element of Mens Rea(Mental state of the suspect at the time of committing the act. What was his or intention and the various ways through which this intention can be construed/ determined for example, weapon used, was it a lethal or non lethal weapon, was the force of the weapon commensurate to the amount of force being used by the victim (one can't use a gun to defend themselves against fist punch). Which Part of the body was attacked can also be another way of knowing what the intentions were, an attack on any part waist up is intended to cause serious bodily injury that can easily lead to death as opposed to attacking the legs which usually means rendering the attacker weaker by reducing his mobility.
Local ordinary people don't understand thes principles and so they may not be able to construe them. They may be looking for a direct recording of the accused saying,I am killing you today which in most cases is not there and so they end up translating the lack off as lack of intention to cause death. This guy admitted cause serious bodily injuries to his wife, smashing her face like a wild animal yet here we are, Not guild of Murder. Guilty of Manslaughter means he did not have the intentions of killing his wife when he did all of those inhumane, disgusting and beastly things. In other words ,he was just scaring her and she got so scared and died!!
You would think Casey Anthony was the last time we would see this kind of injustices but Nope!! Still a long way to go!!

You should have never withdrew the Divorce the first time. If you hadn't, you could have taken half and rebuild your life. Met her, married took her from Jamaica, filed for her, so she could get a better life and she played you. You snapped, killed her, now your daughter has no parents for atleast the next 20 yrs. There is a lesson here, you should have married a woman here and not sacrifice for such an ungrateful woman. You killed her and now your life is ruined forever.

I watched this trial and was stunned in the verdict. The defendant took the stand and was very arrogant but there were comments complimenting him. He describes what he did to her coldly. Did not just react in anger and hit her a few times and that led to her death. No, it took awhile and he was very violent and tells what he did with no feeling. He had to incapacitate her first then decide to murder. He thinks did nothing wrong!! The victim may have been hiding money from him and it seemed as many thought he had a right to kill her!! Shocking. So if find victim had flaws, or don’t like personality, it is justification for murder? Wonder if would feel same if it was their daughter. Killed her in the house with their child there!! Then left that child alone while he moved her mothers dead body, mutilated the body. He talks about how he striped her because it was a very stressful situation. WTF? Poor Andre so stressful murder is so stress leads to exposing the mother of his child to demean her. Says hit her with hammer because hitting the person who caused it. It WAS her fault. He says it on stand with fervor. It’s crazy. His lawyer stated Andreen spit in his face and have right to meet with equal force. Beating and murdering is equal to spitting? I also have memory of Andreen mother not seeming as if loved, or even liked her daughter. It was mind blowing. May be just the way she expresses, or lack of, herself. It was obviously first degree murder IMO. He had time to decide to stop while beating her, then time to decide not to do more and kill her. He was still angry and when dumped her body he kicked, and I think hit her with hammer (that info came from the defendant himself). So this man gets up tells how he brutally murdered his wife with child in the home and states she was to blame. But some how this jury found him not guilty of murder!! I don’t like criticizing a jury. Feel mostly try their best and want to do the right and just thing. I can not comprehend this verdict. This arrogant, violent, remorseless man is basically told they agree. Poor Andre, appears she was hiding money so that betrayal justifies your actions. It wasn’t even as if he got on stand and through tears of regret states just lost his mind for a moment. I have to stop typing as I can not wrap my mind around it, can not articulate how awful this man was and will never comprehend how jury came to their verdict. He will be out of jail in short time and will just have to hope he only kills some one these twelve think deserved it.
