Great video! Here at Astranti Connect, we offer CPCAB (BACP-approved) levels 2-5. Doing level 2 to 4 CPCAB courses is enough to qualify for BACP membership and become a qualified counsellor. These levels can be done with or without a degree, and depending upon experience, some people can skip the level 2 qualification and go straight to level 3. I hope this helps some people. 🥰
I’m doing it through a level 2 Counselling studies 8 weeks part time , level 3 counselling Skills approx 16-18 weeks part time , level 4 therapeutic counselling diploma 2years CPCAB and BACP accredited. On first year with fit to practice done in placement now. Also doing a psychology undergraduate BS open university on year 1 just about to enter year two in September.
Wow, you're doing so much, I salute you for your work ethic. You're going to be a great therapist, i wish you the best in your 2nd year and placement, i'm doing my placement too.
Thanks for the info! It's really interesting to hear the different routes people can take in this profession. I'm in currently doing a level 4 diploma (part-time over 2 years), and I'll leave with minimum of 100 placement hours, and NCS/ BACP registration
I've completed a BPS accredited undergrad Psychology degree and I'm about to start a Level 2 certificate in counselling course. In your personal opinion, what would you say is the best route for someone in my position to become a counsellor?
Hi fahim, I’d say it depends on your financial situation. Doing the diplomas up to level 4 can get you qualified for cheaper than doing a masters for 3 years. However, both routes would take you the same amount of time from level 2. I hope that makes sense, feel free to ask me more if it doesn’t
I'm starting college in September level 1 which is 6 weeks, Level 2 which is 36 weeks Level 3 which is 36 weeks And Level 4 which is 2 years Seems very long winded but it is something I really would like to do. Sorry to ask if you have already answered this in your video but can I work as a full time counsellor with a Level 4
Thank you for such interesting information, however I'm still left with questions regarding my qualification (BA in Pastoral Psychology, NQF 7), Firstly I would like to know if is possible for me to advance my profession on your side since I am from South Africa, Secondly does fundings also consider international Students.
Hi! Yes you can continue your studies here to become a counsellor and funding is not available for international students unless it’s a scholarship as far as I am aware, but I’ve never known counselling degrees to offer scholarships so you would have to pay for it all yourself unfortunately. I hope that helps to answer your question?
Do you have to study psychology as an undergraduate at uni and then do the counselling skills from 1 to 4. Or can you not go to uni and go straight to studying counselling skills. Which route is best ?
You can go straight to the counselling skills from foundation to level 4. A psychology degree is not necessary. The best route varies depending on what you're willing to pay. I'd recommend this video ruclips.net/video/XLL-KxPunh8/видео.html
I’m starting level three in September, and I’m not sure if I should do level four next year or the degree because I don’t know if it’s better to have a level four or a level seven qualification as a counsellor as I’m more of a practical learner than theoretical and I don’t know how I would qualify to work with children as well as adults.
Hi hannah, congratulations on getting to level 3! If you’re more of a practical learner then you might prefer the level 4, just check the syllabus for it online and compare with the syllabus for a degree. To work with children you would need to do extra training, I’ve never seen courses that combine working with adults and children, it’s often separate. I hope that helps
@@ceethecounsellor you’re welcome. That’s why your channel is valuable. You’re pulling the information together for others. 🙂 Finding the right pathway as a counsellor, PWP, psychotherapist, psychologist, psychiatrist etc can be a minefield.

Hi, you’re welcome and thank you for your comment. If you are going to be studying in Canada, I would recommend that you start looking at universities in Canada and what counselling MA degrees they have and check their entry requirements to see if you qualify. Then you can apply. If you don’t meet those requirements, you could do an undergraduate degree counselling first. I don’t know the route to becoming a counsellor in Canada unfortunately, but I hope that will help. Good luck 😊
Hey, you don’t need A levels to become a counsellor if you do the diplomas. However, if you want to do a degree or masters in counselling then you need to do A levels but, it doesn’t matter what A levels you do (this might help if you’re interested in doing a counselling degree ruclips.net/video/_a_WlJG61_c/видео.htmlsi=AaL5NYbLtNeeI3tF )

Would I be qualified if I did level five?
Student Finance England finance PhD students. The loan is approximately £20k per year.
Where is this information? I haven’t seen this anywhere
The post graduate loan is from Student Finance England and is approximately £27k - £28k+.
Had no idea that was the case now, I’ll check it out. Thanks
