    The list is not limited to these 3 routes, people mix and match their counselling qualifications, but what matters is that you get 100 hours of supervised client hours on an accredited course and get yourself registered with the BACP before you start working as a counsellor. Good luck!

    Super helpful info!
    I've gone down the first route, because it made sense for me time/money wise, and I'll be able to work within private practice at the end of level 4, in 2024! Good luck with the rest of your masters :)

      @@gentletouchpodcast9095 Yes I did level 2 and 3 online because it was during the pandemic. I think I missed out on a lot of practical work, and real time tutor feedback. Because of this I noticed a BIG step up from level 3 to 4.
      Does the level 3 college accept other training or experience? A lot of my class mates didn't do a level 2 because they had previous experience in similar fields, or transferable skills.

    Hi Cee, thank you so much for your video! I really want to do counselling/psychotherapy, but I’ve already got a masters degree in psychology… do you think it’s worth doing another masters in counselling? I’m still not sure what the difference is between the level 4 diploma and the master’s degree, apart from the longer placement hours for the masters🤔

    • @ceethecounsellor
      @ceethecounsellor  Год назад +1

      Hi Grace, thank you very much! The other difference is that the diploma is 2 years but the masters is 3 year and will cost a lot more. The level 4 limits your job options compared to the master's degree. I don't think you have to do another 3 years of the masters, you may be able to skip ahead and do 1 or 2 years but, it's worth asking a few universities what they say. A lot of places look for accredited counsellors with a lot of placement hours behind them which is not possible with a level 4 (accreditation status is 400 hours of placement)

    • @ceethecounsellor
      @ceethecounsellor  Год назад

      Hi, I would recommend after your conversion course, (1) you could do a counselling bachelors degree or (2) a level 2 counselling diploma which would allow you to do a masters degree. (3) But if you didn’t want to do a masters degree, you could do more diplomas up to level 4 or 5. I hope that helps 😊

    May I ask something? If I've done a counselling bachelor's degree (100 placement hours), to be able to have 450 placement hours, do i need to take both master's degree and phd in counseling?

    • @ceethecounsellor
      @ceethecounsellor  2 года назад

      No, you don't need to do a master's and PhD, you can gain the hours by doing other placements after your degree. I will double check

    • @ceethecounsellor

      So, I checked, you can gain the rest of your supervised hours either at a placement or at your counselling job, you will need to get a supervisor and alert the BACP first. You will then have to do a piece of work after you 450 hours before being accredited. Hope that helps
