Interesting watches. My first reaction is that they may be counting on a provenance that isn’t sufficiently clear or established. I know Gérald Genta designed the Royal Oak, the Ingenieur, the Nautilus etc but will that history translate directly enough to these designs at the price point they are asking (esp. with a rubber strap)? Good luck to them.
Overall I like it very much. At 36mm, it would be a tad small for me, but I like hand-wound and the dial is so clear and attractive, this is a watch you could wear all the time. How do you like it planet? Take care, Bill
Thanks for the video Bill! I never knew about this brand, as I didn't know that Gerald Genta was Gerald CHARLES Genta. Forget about the prices (too high for me), like you, prior to trying one on, I do not really like anything about them except the movements. Best regards, Brian
Yeah, looking at the prices and knowing about the movement prices GC pays for off-the-shelf units compared to having bespoke movements by a top Swiss watchmaker certainly puts a different light on it, Brian. I guess we're not dangerous because of too little knowledge anymore...🤫 Take care, Bill
Hi Bill, a fair review. If all you wanted was a GG design there are cheaper options. Can Bernie Taupin headline festivals and sell out arena tours? No but Elton John can. Regards Ed
Attractive enough looking watches Bill. However, call boring and out of touch. But XXX£ for what is for all practical purposes a dress piece on some kind of rubber strap?
They could train a neural net with his sketches and designs to get endless Gerald Genta watch designs
Hey Valley Guy, they could. Take care, Bill

Well said Chiller. It seems that only a single case design was wrestled from the Genta corpus and was used on all. Take care, Bill
Thanks for the video Bill, the case shape is very unique. I wouldn't mind testing one out, but I don't think I would pay these prices for one.
I have similar thoughts Abdul. Take care, Bill
Thanks
My pleasure, Paul! Take care, Bill
I believe the actual Gerald Genta name brand and most of his designs are owned by LVMH.
Thanks Louis-you're likely correct. Take care, Bill
hey bill your thoughts on nomos club 701 watch , i just bought a pre owned one

Very good point Ed. If they have access to all over Genta's design, why only one design for all of their watches? Take care, Bill
Now we know why his original company disappeared. He can’t price his merchandise. 😅
You think they're overpriced I take it Amatrice. Time will tell. Take care, Bill
This might turn out to be an expensive buy no? Somewhere I heard your wife seems to like those watches. All the best
No Erik, it was Shane's wife who got one. CG is relying a bit much on the Gérald Genta name, and that's not enough I don't think. Take care, Bill
Asymmetrical case and rubber straps , not to mention price, it is not for me.
When I tried it on, Velvia, I liked it and I like the movement, but not sure about the rubber-only strap nor the price. Take care, Bill

Like you Tuna, I'm not sure whether the Gérald Genta heritage is enough to sail this boat. Take care, Bill
