Very nice video my friend! I’m around 60 in the collection, and I keep saying I’m going to sell some to level up a few. I can never choose. I think, hey I will sell this and then I put it on. Then I wear it a bit, then I say, I can’t get rid of this one. Back into the box it goes 😂
Couldn’t agree more about quartz and water resistance. Those are two of my biggest pet peeves from watch collectors. Especially when you consider the super accurate quartz movements from citizen, literally running +/-1 second per year, or multiband 6 from g shock. That’s literally the definition of innovation in horology. I like the connection i feel to my mechanical watches, but that doesn’t mean quartz can’t be cool as hell.
Great POV. My only caveat is on #2. What you described is a serial collector. Actively experiencing multiple items over time. So you dont have to possess multiple units at once of a thing to be a collector, I suppose. On the other hand, you can be an enthusiast, admirer, consumer, aficionado. But by definition, owning one watch, primarily for utilitarian purpose, does not make one a collector. I’m a car enthusiast, but I own one car at a time. I don’t consider myself a collector. Cheers
