A split screen or external view when boxing would be a good addition, then show the view from the cockpit. The cuts from STBD to PORT were kind of quick. To experienced folks the video is OK, to newbies it might seem a little quick. Anyway, good job, and I realize the hassles of editing i.e., how a few minutes on screen can represent hours in the field and editing bay. But perfection is our goal, so the product stands up with time.
Thanks for the suggestion. You are right, I spend around three hours editing for every minute of finished video-which is why I don’t publish videos more often. I’ll see if I can include your suggestion for the next set of similar videos. Thanks for watching!
Hey Scott. I'm a student private pilot and I have had a hard time learning how to read and interpret the VOR Indicators. I have watched 3 videos that made no sense to me at all. I saw that you had posted a VOR video about 9 months ago. I gave your video a try and it explained things perfectly. Thank you so much.
Hi Scott. You were considering your own online private pilot ground school and I wanted to know if this is still in the works? If not, can you recommend one?
Yes. It still is in the works, but due to several family-related issues, it will likely be some time before it is available. If you are looking to get started now, I would recommend one of the big three: King Schools, Sporty’s, or Rod Machado. All three provide the information you need to pass the written, plus a bit more. I think the biggest differences are in how the materials are presented. John and Martha are masters of the information. Their style is conversational/informal. The modules are short - mostly between 5-15 minutes. You can see a sample here: kingschools.com/private-pilot-certificate Sporty’s has a very slick, very polished presentation (think corporate training videos). Their modules are a little longer (30 minutes), but are still bite-sized. You can see demo videos here: courses.sportys.com/training/portal/course/PRIVATE/welcome Rod Machado’s style is very informal. He tries to make the information entertaining as well as informative. He uses humor as well as cartoons to help make the points. You can see a demo of his programs here: www.rodslearningcenter.com/Demos/PPeDEMO/story.html I hope this is helpful! Best of luck and I hope you keep a lookout for more of my videos. Thanks.
