- Description:
As you do your checkride preparation, you must be able to determine if the airplane you will use is airworthy. Do you understand how to determine airworthiness and what must be in the aircraft logbooks? In this video we’ll define airworthiness and demonstrate how to review aircraft maintenance logs to ensure you and the airplane are ready for your practical test.
Warning: The information provided in this video is for demonstration purposes only. The information and results cannot be used for an actual flight. To plan an actual flight, you will need to use the information in the Pilot’s Operating Handbook, and the other documents associated with the specific airplane you fly.

Thank you for this great video. My checkride is on Tuesday and this helped fill a gap in knowledge and gave me the tools necessary to answer any questions my DPE might have about my airplane's airworthiness.
Here's hoping I can check in next week as a fully fledged pilot!
You are very welcome! We are rooting for you!! Please let us know how it goes! We’d like to be some of the first to congratulate you!

Cool DC-6. Nice airplane.
Thanks for the comment. I’m not sure which DC-6 you meant? Thanks!
STUDENTS BE AWARE - Don't assume the flight school airplane you take to your checkride is airworthy. Watch this video, be the PIC, and do your due diligence.
Thank you! Thanks for the comment!
Great content, thank you.
Thank you for watching, and thanks for the comment!!
Awesome instruction video -- as always -- I can't believe you changed that up in so short a time ;) Also, I now know ELT check is 12 months not 24 months like transponder checks. Weird, but that's the way it is.
Thank you, again!!
Hey, what a wonderful video, I guess I got one question, are both the annual and 100hr inspections mandatory for airplanes part 135 & 91?
Thanks for the compliment! The answer to your question is… “maybe”.
For part 91, you only need to do 100-hour inspections if flying passengers for hire or providing instruction for hire. So, if you aren’t using the aircraft for these activities, only the Annual is required. Under part 135, it is assumed your activities are for compensation or hire. Therefore, I believe you must do 100-hour/Annual inspections, Progressive Inspections, Approved Aircraft Inspection Program (AAIP), or Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP). Whichever your FAA issued 135 certificate allows. I hope that helps.
Wow Amazing
