Truthfully, the student should be filling out their log book after the first few lessons and have the instructor review it. Just like self-serve fueling and landing on actual grass, too many students out there get certificated without the real-world experience.
5:58 I beg to differ. How, then, does one satisfy "3 hours of _flight training_ in a single-engine airplane on the control and maneuvering of an airplane solely by reference to instruments" if the CFI is "just a safety pilot" and it cannot be counted as Dual Instruction? Also, how can the student pilot log PIC with an Instructor onboard?

I've been doing all of my own book entries and checking with the eptr to make sure I'm accurate, my logbook includes landing types and some other procedures not listed in the example
Isn't it better to put a row like: KXXX KYYY and then next row, KYYY KXXX with the data separated as two flights, instead of KXXX KYYY KXXX improvised?
How do you log AATD time? My CFIs are confusing me. They’re logging it differently. Should I put that as flight training received or ground training received?
I'm an AGI/IGI who has yet to do any instructing and I've never seen any requirements for me to log ground instruction given, other than in the learners' logbooks. Is it required, recommended, or a don't-care? What format do you recommend? Should I just put it into my pilot's logbook? I haven't flown for years because of medical issues and I thought that becoming a Ground Instructor would be a good way for me to keep my hand in. If I can help some young people achieve their dreams, so much the better.
Yes, like you noted, you must log _all_ training (Flight or Ground) in _their_ logbook, but according to § 61.189 the only thing _YOU_ need to keep records of is endorsements. In your case, endorsements for Knowledge Tests are most likely. You need to keep those records for three years. I maintain a small notebook separate from my pilot logbook. Each page is a different student. I record the date and the specific endorsement for each student in that logbook. Be it Citizenship, Solo, Knowledge, High Performance, Complex, etc. I also record FRs and IPCs in the same notebook.
It's great to see a face after seeing so many of your videos. I love your channel, very useful information!
Nice to put a face with the all so familiar voice.😃
Thanks for that, and as always, the information, too.

This video couldn't have come at a better time... CFI Checkride next week
CFI checkride coming up soon! Please more CFI videos! Love the channel so much!
Great video as always! You do a great job of keeping things simple and giving clear explanations.

Thank you. Next step for me is CFII.
7:15 A 0.3mm "Needle tip" pen works wonders for filling in logbooks legibly. 😊
me trying to cram in 3 approaches in a 1cm box.

if you want, you can do it.
He said that you can do that at 1:59.
Excellent explanation

How do we log training given in a sim? He stopped after the first 2 columns. Dual received? Simulated (hood)?
I wanna ask if airlines consider hours on light sport aircrafts as in total hours??

I think this is the first time we've seen your face.... Not what I was expecting. For some reason I was expecting some young 20 something ha
He's got a few videos where he shows his face. There's one at least on youtube and some of his ground school videos show him.
He looks like a young 20 something to me! But I’m old
So that's what you look like!
So thats what you look like. First time seeing face behind the voice and graphics
