- Hello Everyone!
Alongside the release of the original Alan Wake was a book written by one of the in-game characters. Clay Steward travelled to the town of Bright Falls after Alan vanished. He investigated the writer's disappearance and compiled his findings into a book called The Alan Wake Files.
Clay's story began long before he set foot in Bright Falls. Just like how Alan's journey started, it began with a dream.
This video officially kicks off a mini-series of Alan Wake content focused on the author and contents of the Alan Wake Files. Hope you all enjoy!

I hope you cover the novelization of the first game, it's a very interesting read, and even more so when you realize that the guy who wrote it, it was his first novel

I love how they sneaked some classic Barry into this. The way he managed to get his photography on the cover of the book was both funny and kinda messed up at the same time. The Alan Wake Files is amazing. I think there's a free PDF download of it. - J

The gameplay trailer is very interesting BTW. Nightingale being dead... I thought that would be Estevez, but here we are. I'm very excited for AW II!

It would be cool if he meets Alan in the second game or is the focus of its 2 DLC packs.
I would love to see Clay, Samantha and maybe Jake tie in sometime. Even if only in documents

I always assumed he was one of Alan's fictional characters.
Nah he is a real person before and after. It is easy to write off everybody as existing because of Alan's influence but so far I only know of one or two people that are manufactured

I do not think they did. Cynthia deserves her retirement so she probably is off somewhere.
@@GamingUniversityUoG now with the waitress being the new Lamp bearer now, didn’t see her in the trailer but hope she’s around. And considering nightingale might be a new possessed conduit of the dark, could be an interesting interaction. That or with that deputy who had a crush on her back at the diner before being killed at the mammoth park.
What is your thoughts about Alan Wake 2 is digital only? I think Remedy is making a mistake (probably is Epic behind this decision) cuz it’s stirring up quite a mess among fans on social media…
I personally want a physical release. At least a limited release. I have a bad taste in my mouth about digital only and potentially losing the game I invested in. Especially after the debacle with Crossfire X and the campaign.
@@GamingUniversityUoG Same here, really want a disc on my shelf... And thanks for pointing out Crossfire. Some fans are defending the digital only but that is a good example how bad it can be...
What do you think of the 2 protagonists thing? I personally think the game should focus on Alan as he writes his escape.
To be perfectly honest I expected two protagonists since the teaser trailer was announced. My initial thoughts were there would be one party on mother outside looking for him while he was on the inside working his way out.
My initial theory, weirdly enough, was Saga Anderson or to a lesser extent, Alice Wake or Sheriff Breaker. Considering Saga was shown in the Return trailer to be looking for Alan it would make sense.
At first I didn’t like it but then someone reminded me of the teaser in quantum break. That changed my time and now I’m excited about it.
I think people were a bit put off by the trailer because we see basically only her gameplay and almost none of Alan's. They were waiting 13 years for Alan's next adventure, and then someone else looks to be stealing the spotlight at the last second. I think Remedy just wants to keep Alan's gameplay under wraps to avoid spoilers. As long as the stories connect well and Saga doesn't crowd Alan out, I think it could work well.

I think I know what his role is going to be. Frankly I don't think he will be in it for too long. Sadly. I've mentioned my thoughts in his involvement in my theories video on AW2
And oh snaps, great observation. But wouldn't that mean that we know all the prime candidates?
1: Thomas Zane (keeps going back to the dark place. So FBC agents probably haven't ran into him. Declared missing.)
2. Cynthia Weever (mentally unstable)
3. Alan Wake (stuck in the dark place)
4. Dr. Toroki (however you spell his name.) (Caused the creation of two altered items, the Japanese paper lantern and the neko cat. Which are against ASH laws. So just like dr. Hartman, he probably was arrested.)
5. Clay steward (killed in the dark place.)
6. Dylan faden (killed another agent during the shallow tide mission.)
7. Jesse faden
And it makes sense why all of them except Jesse was discontinued or failures.
