I feel like you have the perfect hair type to give this a go!!
Omg I love your channel ❤❤❤
Agreed! So nice to finally see someone who has the exact same hairtype like me. Don’t see that often 🥲
Sounds like a plane is about to take off 😂 buckle up everyone!!
😂😂😂
Sounds like my laptop when i play the sims😅
👍👍😂
I got a jet 2 advert right at the beginning of this video 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Is it just me but I love Sophs wet wavy hair?? I think it looks gorgeous
Love
Yes! She should give Curly hair method a go😊
Me too - it's very similar to my own. It can be a battle trying to sort out what products and methods of use work best though, so I definitely understand why she tends to not keep it natural
aw thanks 😊
Hey Soph! Hairstylist here and have done some training with GHD, the duet style is in fact made to be used on wet hair 😮 and the styler has been tested on virgin hair over 1 year and found that with a maximum of 4 passes there is no damage but of course they don’t recommend using alone and to definitely use heat protection. (This claim is only for the wet to styled function, when using the shine shot the device simply turns to a pair of straighteners with the platinum plus technology)
They also recommend that the styler be held at the roots for 3 seconds each pass to ensure them dry.
120°c for the plates
150°c for the fans
90°c for the root vents
They recommend 1-2inch thick sections at the most.
I definitely believe it takes practice, we’ve got a client with hair similar if not more curly and quite coarse but after a little bit she was able to grasp the small curly bits
Also the steam is nothing to worry about it’s just the product you’ve put in your hair doing it’s thing☺️ love this video review tho
Currently waiting on mine to be delivered into salon to use on my extensions😊
Ooh interesting thank you for this information!! Super interesting it clearly has some great technology behind it 😊 I’ll definitely continue to use it, love how soft it made my hair feel
Have you tried/compared it to the Drybar StraIght Shot Blow Drying Flat Iron, which has a very very similar concept it gets to 250°F which I believe is around 120C, I got the one from Drybar last year for Christmas and absolutely love it although I’m definitely going to purchase this new oil from GHD to use with it and I know the Drybar one that I have it is 1 million times better than the Conair wet 2 dry one from when I was growing up and I have no doubt that a brand such as great as GHD would put out an equally if not an even better tool than mine from Drybar, which has t damaged and worked great on my Extremely thick and pretty long bleached and balayaged hair 💗❤️
Interesting! I assumed it would cause a lot of damage.
I was going to say smaller sections to get to the roots xxx
Tested over 1 year? What is the frequency? And how do they prove there is no heat damage? Just curious about their methods to prove that, if they explained it!
SOPH WE NEED TO SEE YOU DO CURLY HAIR METHOD ON THAT HAIR!! I bet it would look amazing
I think she has said in a couple videos that she has already tried the curly girl method but prefers her hair straight.
Yeah she just doesn't like her natural curl, like mine it's not a great curl but looks like a kinked frizzy mess or a wet dog.
@@rochellemcnally7601 I tried the curly girl method on my own hair and I despised it - absolutely didn't work for me and my hair is similar to hers
I have exactly the same hair as her, very thick and not curly/not straight... the curly method doesn't work on me.
I know you don't tend to wear your hair natural, but I would LOVE to see a curly hair routine on your hair. You look stunning with it!!
I was thinking the same thing!!
Honestly same! Your natural hair looks so nice and curly Soph! ❤
Honestly same! Your natural hair looks so nice and curly Soph! ❤
I would love to see you embracing your natural hair texture! Your wet hair looks a lot like mine, and after like a few months of doing the Curly Girl routine turned out those waves were actual curls! I think it would definitely suit your face shape and bone structure!
I was gifted a pair yesterday as an early birthday present. I like to wear my hair straight so ideal for me, I did use them the same day, they done a great job (not perfect 1st go) but using the shine shot after made my hair look like it would if I’d blow dried & straightened as usual. My hair length is below the shoulder. Love watching you Soph even though I’m an older subscriber 😀
I wouldn’t pay £370 for this!! 😮 they should make the thinner version like they did with the basic ghd straighteners. For all the people with shorter and thinner hair.
not only that, but you can do this with hairdryer and round comb... what a waste of money.
Agreed
oh wow ☹️, I was going to check the cost that's expensive and Its difficult to get the roots🙄
@Nadi Blue or the revlon 1 step volumizer. That's what I use and I have super long, curly, and thick hair. I find it easier since it's all in one. Only $40. I actually got mine at Marshall's for $25
Your hair is gorgeous!!! Natural, straight and curly/wavy 😍😍
Always cheers me up when I watch you Soph ❤ thank you
yes i’m so glad you’re testing this soph!!
Soph, your hair straight is such a refreshment!
your natural hair texture is gorgeous 😍
Love your videos soph you always put me in a good mood and make me smile 🥰
I would love to see you try the curly girl method just to see what your curls/waves would turn out like
Yes me too😊
Ommmggggg I’ve seen this before and was skeptical. I’m glad you tested it! Amazing content as always Soph❤️
Soph looks so good with her hair parted on the side!!
I STILL HAVE AND USE THAT STRAIGHTENER WITHOUT THE WET 2 STRAIGHT PART. I’ve never used it for my WET HAIR omg. I just love the 2 inch plate ❤
your natural hair looks so pretty!!!
I love the way your hair is naturally❤️
Your curly hair looks soo good. Its natural and beautiful. You look gorgeous 😍
Sophie your natural hair is actually so beautiful!!!
You’re hair looks gorg straight and your eye make up, stunning!! 😍😍
I think your hair looked amazing! So healthy and shiny! I know you could feel the frizzy sections, but they were not at all noticeable on camera. ❤❤❤
your makeup looks so beautiful!
hi soph !! me and my sister watch your videos everyday, you are the most honest youtuber , you are so humble , we love watching your videos to relax at the end of the day !! you are so kind and your videos are such a vibe !💝💖💗💓💞xx
aw thank you so much to you and your sister!! 🥺🥰
Soph you natural hair is STUNNING 🤩
Oh I’d love one of those. I’ll be saving up for it!!!
Btw. I really enjoy watching your videos. You always make me smile.
Soph your wavy natural hair is so pretty!! Would love to see more of your waves in future videos🤗💖✨
You are so so adorable with your wavy hair!! I just love it.
Watching you have your hair 50/50 for a moment there, I can tell you that curly hair looks soooo much better on you 🙈🫡
I am always obsessed with your jewellery❤❤
Love these videos so so much!!! Your hair look stunning!!!
Always love how honest you are in your reviews! Pleaseeee can you test the Revolution Haircare Hot Air Styler, it’s £100 on asos and I’m so curious as to how it compares to the airwrap!
We have exactly the same hair type! I love watching your videos so I can see how it would suit my hair. Much more realistic than those people who have hair that stays exactly how it’s been styled haha ❤
Omg I loveee your wavy hair, you look gorgeous on both but i’m curious to see it more often 🥰🤍
Hey Soph!
I did some research on how much heat hair can take because I was curious as to whether when your hair feels too hot to touch, if it’s actually getting damaged. Here’s what I found!
Exposure to high heat changes the shape of your hair’s keratin strands. Temperatures over 300°F (148C) convert the ⍺-keratin to β-keratin, which eventually leads to weaker hair that has lost its elasticity and become more prone to damage. When the keratin is melted, your hair maintains that shape on a molecular level, and it's not reversible.
So that’s why the styler claims not to damages your hair on the drying mode I guess!
Oooh this is interesting, thank you!!😊
It looks great soph! I basically have the same hair type as yourself and I used to have some wide straighteners and really struggled to get my roots and fringe super straight so I completely get what you mean! Looks like it did a pretty great job though x
I’m so intrigued by this product! Luckily my roots don’t get frizzy and lies pretty flat (mainly because I have long thick hair and I think the gravity with it helps it lie flat).
I bought the recliner one step styler with the hopes it would help dry my hair/style at same time but it takes a loooong time for it to dry my slightly damp hair when I use it. This sounds like a much quicker way to achieve what I want!
I just watched your video where you showed your make-up in all lighting. Girl, you've got a fan for life!! Thank you!!
aw thanks so much I’m glad it was helpful! 😊
i love your natural hair!
Your hair looks so nice straight! 🥰
Omg! Yay more hair stufff ❤❤
Definitely an interesting tool. I personally don't need one but I just love watching your videos!
you look really beautiful in this vid ❤ have u ever tried like a curly/wavy girl routine? it look like your hair is naturally beautifully wawy!!
What's funny is I've straightened my hair basically every day for years and years now and everytime I see my stylist she always says I actually have no damage, and I dont see any either, and it's because I use it on one of the lowest heat settings and only take one slowish pass over each section of hair, maybe 2 if my cowlicks are especially temperamental that day. I dont ish any heat protection or oils really but after I shower I have an anti frizz serum and a trauma treatment repair oriented leave in conditioner thing and that's it. Nothing fancy. And even before all that blow drying on medium heat and the low heat straightening never hurt me. So its definitely possible to have a no damage heat tool. And steam is good though it definitely makes my frizz extra bad so that's a side effect. And it interferes with the hold of the style and the products I use. It's a neat tool idea though. It just is too big, too hot running, and definitely takes far too many passes to not do damage. It needs refining for sure
you look so pretty with straightened hair
Your hair looks so good straight!
aw thanks! 😊
Hey Sophie When your drying/straightening your fringe take it forward then brush it to the side it will sit better for you also it's not steam coming out of your hair it's moisture also coming from th oil/serum in your hair
Your natural hair is stunning 😍
I love curly hair-Sophie 😌
Thank you for testing this. I have autoimmune disease and struggle to blow dry and style my hair due to restricted mobility in my hands and arms. It makes me sad because I love to look glam. This might be an option for me except it's very pricey. My hair is nowhere near as long as yours. Your hair is amazing. Again thanks for always testing these things out Soph. Please give Pinky a cuddle from me. 😀💜
Hey Soph, love how in depth and honest your reviews are! Would you recommend the Dyson air wrap for an everyday styling tool? I’ve been contemplating getting it as I’ve seen so many mixed reviews!! Xxx
The Aveda Smooth Infusion Style Prep Smoother is amazing for stopping/ minimizing my hair curl when I sweat, especially if it's just a little sweat at night. (My hair is afro that I straighten if that context helps at all)
You have lovely hair naturally looks so nice xx
Her natural hair is so beautiful
To help get the top of your head i’d do a central section with hair from both parts and then dry it parallel to your forehead, so the hair gets the middle of the tool at the root and should help with the frizz
You just look next level gorgeous in this video! Have a great day!
Ah I’m so early! Great vid thanks Soph❤ always the best part of the day when u upload🤩
Your makeup looks gracious 😍
I dry my hair upside down with this magic duet style, and it gets to my roots completely, my hair feels healthy and with full volume for days after, it's unbelieveable. You just need to learn how to use it on your hair. Thanks for your lovely review 💜
May I ask, now 9 mos later, are you still using this tool?
Yes please we will be grateful if you respond us
Yay! Opened youtube at the perfect time 🎉❤
I love these testing videos 👌🏻
My mum just got one and I tried it it's amazing! Deffo recommend.. especially if you tried and failed with the Dyson, I have frizzy curly hair like Hermione's in the first Harry potter haha, the Dyson did a good job for about ten minutes, I did my hair with this yesterday and it's still straight, been out in the rain, to work and slept!
I love how you compared your frizzy hair to ‘hermione in the 1st Harry potter’ hahahahsha
If you haven’t already use wow treatment you put it in wet hair then blowdry. So you could just use ghd straightener on it. I have same hair type as u. I use to get keratin but stopped doing that since using wow
@@aseeshera5998 what's wow treatment??
Wow! That is an impressive tool! Looks great!
Soph + straight hair = 😍😍
I have leapt to this video! Love your content Soph❤️
I would love to see a Haircare routine Soph ❤😊
YES! that wet 2 straight!!!😂😂 im a curly haired girl so I used to use that thing so much it def just burned the shit out of my hair😂😂
Defo sounds like a plane taking off 😂 and it also reminds of the concept of the hair straightening brushes
tip: the JVN air dry cream works wonders for frizz without making your hair look oily. i just put a bit on my fingers when my hair is dry and lighty smooth out the roots :)
The straight hair is a LEWKK on you😍
Your natural wavy hair is beautiful. I would love to see you try a curly girl routine 😍
I think it's good to look at it in the same way we look at a dyson - it's still going to damage out hair but less than when we use a thermal tool like a straightener or a curling wand! LOVE the results on you! X
Yes you’re absolutely right!! 😊 thank you! I do really like it
Your make up is beautiful in this video, you look so gorgeous 😍
Love ur vids so much!!! Can u pls do a super natural school makeup routine with affordable products, even just as a short?
Tysmmm
thanks so much!! yes sure I’ll add it to my list of shorts to film 😊
Love your natural wavey hait
You’re hair naturally is beautiful, beach’s waves. I know being a curly haired gal when mine dries it gets puffy! But do you ever put some leave in conditioner and wear it as is? Love your videos.
Such a helpful video Soph!
What eyelashes are you wearing here? They look stunning on your eyeshadow ❤
Yeah I had the Remington wet to dry straighteners growing up my mum used to straighten every strand of my hair was sitting there for ages
U really suit straight hair! It’s so shiny! U suit curly hair too but I love this on u. Maybe put a little bit of oil on the top bits if u are concerned about frizz and then use Elnett hairspray because it brushes out easily and doesn’t go hard xx
I use it to straighten then use my Dyson to curl. Work really well. Xx
Loved this video! I would be so curious to see you do a curly hair routine, like scrunching and diffusing your hair with a hair dryer to see how curly/ wavy it goes ♥️ x
could you please do an updated cruelty free and vegan makeup tutorial! ❤️❤️
I would love to see you try do a routine for wavy/curly hair
Makeup on point!! Was it quicker to use this than blow drying your hair and then straightening it? Love you reviews!!
Yes!!!!! I had one of those wet to straight hair straighteners from Remington for many many years lol It actually just stopped working on me last year lol 😂🤣 I Never used it with wet hair tho bc I didn't want to fry my hair 😂😂
Please do a tutorial on how you do you wavy hair style! I have curly hair too and I’d love to see how you do it! 😍🥰
I work at Cosmoprof. It actually has been in the making for 20 years. We had a whole class and people that work at GHD was talking to us about it.
Ooooh thank you for this review!
This would work amazing on my hair as it’s really long and wavy but the weight of it already keeps my roots pretty straight, I’m just not sure I can really justify the price…hmm it’s very temping that’s for sure!
If they made a thinner version for short/fine hair I’d be really tempted, in the meantime my revlon one-step does everything I need it to
I love your videos xx
Your waves are so nice I hope you learn to love it too and wear it more in this natural state one day🥰. (She mentioned not liking it curly/wavey before anyone says anything lol😅)
Thank you!! Maybe one day i’ll put some time into learning how to style then properly 😌
I never knew your hair was so curly?! Have you tried the curly girl method? The styling mostly? 🤩
I have a regular GHD 2inch flat iron and it is chunky too. I have to take perfectly straight slices in order to get to the root.
Love your hair when you have natural curls there lush
I’d put the top sections in large Velcro rollers as the heat will continue to dry but straight. Xx
I don't "style" my hair...the cut I get has enough style built in, that I just wash, air dry, and brush it out. That's it. But! Videos like this make me kinda wish I did "style" it more... but, I also know how LAZY I am and that it would only be "fun" for 1-2 days! Tops! 🤣🥰 Great review Soph! 😘
Sophie I have been watching your videos for about three years now, you have helped me so much! Because of you I started to use Dermatica and it was a game changer! I saw that you are watching Nashville because you are coming to Nashville...are you going to be seeing people while you're here? I live 45 minutes away from Nashville and I would love to meet you! While you're here you should definitely hit up Opry Mills Shopping Center it's AMAZING and I think you will enjoy it!
