I plan to do basically the same mods, and I'm not gonna lie, with that power gain, I don't even really care to run a flashpro for a long time, LOL. Thanks for making the video. The downpipe and front pipe are LEGIT.
I just got a cat less downpipe, I had to come back to this video just to rewatch the install. Awesome video you did a great job explaining and showing us what to look out for
Love the videos - super helpful. Will note for anyone else following - you can fit the bolt into the rear motor mount without taking off the pipe if it’s the stock front pipe. There’s an indent in the heat shield to where it can barely squeeze in and out with some play and the right angle.
Yeah, that's actually what messed me up because I noticed the right side of the bolt hole is a slot to slide the bolt up into it so didn't think it would have to go in first. PRL DP was too thick for the bolt to slide up so that will only work if you keep stock DP while changing RMM
That’s awesome man!! I could tell even after D-Rob’s OTS tune and adding the charge pipes and HVI intake that it made an even bigger difference. Very happy with it. Your car looks and sounds as great as ever!
Sub'd! Super helpful info. This is basically all i plan to do with my DE5. Love that you back it up with before/after dyno's too. Kinda suprised you dont need a tune for intake/exhaust bolt-ons. My last car was a stage 2 GTI...CELs all day without a flash.
Thats specifically why I went with TSP catted DP. other AM DP's throw CEL's because of secondary O2 and the way the ECU needs closed loop for proper dynamic values wanted all sensors working correctly.
Air fuel ratios stay safe with all these upgrades? I just picked up my type s last week. I’m returning to Hondas after a lap of owning evos and Sti’s. Subarus need tuning adjustments after just an air filter. No need for that with type s? Maf sensor makes all the adjustment I’m guessing???
everything installed so far does not require tuning adjustments and no CEL with TSP downpipe. boost still limited to 19lbs.. (until I installed the HVI) video coming soon.
You did a lot for heat management and this mod list is my first round for the CTR. Question how is everything holding up now 9'ish months later? Is there Turbo/Down pipe rust from trapped moister? Did you consider wrapping the front pipe in order to keep from heated the oil pan/transmission?
No moisture issues at all, swapped out TSP DP for another TSP DP for TSP to analyze about 2 months ago, it was all good no moisture in blanket. DP is cerakoted for extra protection but no issues there with rust. I have been on the fence about wrapping FP mainly for the water retention issue as it is more prone to that given its location. Not sure if the FP wrap is even enough benefit to risk rusting.
Thanks for the video. How is it 6 months later? This is what I’m looking for generally- no tune but fairly big power gains and minimal impact to exhaust sound.
TSP downpipe, Charge pipes, front pipe, intercooler and HVI will net you the biggest no tune gains. TSP downpipe does NOT require a tune and will not throw codes without tune. Other DP's require tune to disable secondary O2 sensor or will throw codes.
here is the turbo blanket www.ptpturboblankets.com/collections/honda/products/honda-k20c-civic-fk2-fk8-fl5-type-r-turbo-blanket and here is the downpipe blanket (this only works on aftermarket DP's like TSP and RV6. www.ptpturboblankets.com/collections/honda-downpipe-blankets/products/acura-honda-5-downpipe-blanket
curious about something, if the prl tsp downpipe, if they give you an option to retain the oem heat shield, why can't someone use both ptp blanket and the oem heat shield on top of that
Yes, you can use the OEM heat shields with the TSP downpipe. Blanket is made to be tight to keep the heat from escaping. The shield is offset by design so you can choose to use on or the other but not both

Impressive and nice video. How much impact did these upgrades impact your MPG? Did your first upgrade with the larger intercooler cause any turbo lag? Still no CEL?
Thank you Good to know. So you actually decreased the turbo lag with the DP and FP. I would have thought with a larger inter cooler, that would cause more delay in turbo boost. Nice job
The only downside is that the parts are not fully utilized. Got the HVI and a tune now. Plan on a video to discuss all the differences I have experienced so far.. (traction will be a topic for sure)
Thanks for taking us along with your journey ....... now for the PRL HVI intake ........ ;-)
Coming soon, installed it the other night. need to get another dyno day.

Yeah I am teetering on whether or not to jalibreak it.
@@koaticus what made you end up jailbreaking? seems like had pretty sufficient gains without it (thanks for replying to my other question).

Thanks man! Glad it helped!

thats huge gains without a tune! Keep on making that content!
Your patience while realizing some issues is inspiring.
So glad you're posting all of these videos!

Did Derek jailbreak yours? hesitate about mailing it. LOL
@@koaticushe did yes, although I don’t blame anyone one bit. I was nervous as all heck just bc we’re depending on USPS, ugh LOL

This is exactly what I'm going to be doing to mine here this week.
coolio.. hope my video helped you so you don't make the mistakes I did. :)
Yes, it is thank you.
Great content 👌.. If thers a way to install the turbo blanket and keep the OEM turbo cover ??
Have you thought of a precook intake and spoon throttle body? The work you have done is awesome 😎
not yet but maybe on my list.

I’m surprised it runs fine without a tune. A tune really does make a big difference though.
you are correct, didnt have a tune when I made this video but running TSP stage 1 multitune now and it is sweet..

I just ordered the same piping. I didn't order the heating brackets. Is it that big important?.
matter of preference
Do you know how much heat are those turbo blankets actually going to reduce?
bout 100 - 150 degrees surface temp
Very amazed considering its stock ecu! How much of a difference is the exhaust note from stock?
Exhaust note was definitely deeper with the DP and front pipe installed.
Impressive and nice video.
How much impact did these upgrades impact your MPG?
Did your first upgrade with the larger intercooler cause any turbo lag?
Still no CEL?
No CEL with any of the bolt-ons I have installed. No change in turbo lag until the DP and FP install and the lag noticeably decreased.

Mine is running a k tune stage 2 do you even have to tune with this?
Yeah, now I am running Hondata with TSP stage 1 multi-tune. Big difference
I’m planning to do the same with my fl5 and im wondering is there any downside to not having a tune ?!
