Great content 👌.. If thers a way to install the turbo blanket and keep the OEM turbo cover ??
Videos from people who use plastic ramps.....
help me learn from their mistakes. (just finishing your sentence) My videos are to help the home wrencher that doesn't have expensive tools and would rather spend their money on parts then spend the money on labor. But you right those ramps were crap and I have since built my own.
Amazing video bro, you do a great job at showing the step by step process!
I’m so excited I’m going to jailbreak my ECU December 7th! They have a jailbreak event at their HQ do you know if I’m able to buy CANflex kit at the jailbreak event or is it only strictly for flash pro mini ?
thanks for posting, i am not sure if you mentioned it the hps charge pipe kit will work or fit the prl intercooler?
I just got a cat less downpipe, I had to come back to this video just to rewatch the install. Awesome video you did a great job explaining and showing us what to look out for
I’m surprised you were able to get up that ramp, is that rhino ramps?
I'm excited for the tour but worried about factory warranty haha. Only have 4K miles
Awesome videos that you have put together . Wish you was close to where I live I would just pay you to install all these parts to my ITS I’m up here in New England . I was wondering what brand are there Carbon pieces you have in the engine bay love the touch.
Thanks. The carbon fiber ECU cover and fuse cover I made myself. have a few extras that didn't turn out quite as well. :)
@koaticus ohhh wow that's awesome what state are you from ? Are you close to the NorthEast? how bad did they come out ??... since you have the mold would you make some inserts FORGED CARBON and sell to me :)..
You channel rocks Bro, was thinking about this upgrade .............. thanks so much for the great videos ........... ;-)
I know the PRL intercooler isnt the best IC out there, but it seems like its plenty good enough for bolt ons ... You agree?
Nice video. Let us know if you see any difference with the acuity hoses. I’m really thinking about making a purchase for them
unfortunately, the only log data I have to compare to is from a track day this summer when temp was 95 degrees. will log data next summer at track when I am pushing the car to take the ambient temp variable out of the comparison. comparing any data now will definitely skew in favor of the hoses performance.
thanks for the videos... what do you think are the best mods for a bit more performance and sound? I'm putting mine away for the winter so I think it's time to play with it a bit.
Thanks for the video. How is it 6 months later? This is what I’m looking for generally- no tune but fairly big power gains and minimal impact to exhaust sound.
TSP downpipe, Charge pipes, front pipe, intercooler and HVI will net you the biggest no tune gains. TSP downpipe does NOT require a tune and will not throw codes without tune. Other DP's require tune to disable secondary O2 sensor or will throw codes.
Never have I seen some one so proud to add weight to their car. What matters is surface area, not weight
Great video, can you make a video of replacing the rear pads and the tools you need. Which scanner did you use?
Yes, rear pads already need to be replaced (And the P3's already). Plan on doing it in the next few weeks!
Do you know if Acura sells the chrome emblem alone? Mine had a pretty bad rock chip today and looking to replace it
I really dont think a catch can is needed on thia platform. I have yet to see a fk8 or FL5 with dirty valves or the need for walnut blasting
Great video koaticus, good to see you don't have to empty the coolant from the entire system.
Do you know how much heat are those turbo blankets actually going to reduce?
bout 100 - 150 degrees surface temp
I’m surprised it runs fine without a tune. A tune really does make a big difference though.
you are correct, didnt have a tune when I made this video but running TSP stage 1 multitune now and it is sweet..
Did your check engine come on?. I just installed PRL charge and intake pipes and turbo back exhaust. And my check engine light came on within the same day.
curious about something, if the prl tsp downpipe, if they give you an option to retain the oem heat shield, why can't someone use both ptp blanket and the oem heat shield on top of that
Yes, you can use the OEM heat shields with the TSP downpipe. Blanket is made to be tight to keep the heat from escaping. The shield is offset by design so you can choose to use on or the other but not both
Thanks for posting this!
Does it worth the money and the time you spend on it ?
in my opinion, Yes. It was amazing stock but it is amazing how it can still be improved upon.
Have you thought of a precook intake and spoon throttle body? The work you have done is awesome 😎
not yet but maybe on my list.
I just ordered the same piping. I didn't order the heating brackets. Is it that big important?.
matter of preference
Placing the hose in the Sun for 5-10 minutes along with a little oil on the fitting made it a breeze attaching the hose to the fitting.
Music is way too loud, makes it very difficult to hear what you're saying.
Just curious why after doing the 2 pulls in sport mode why you didnt do 2 pulls in sport + to see if theres a difference in the 2 modes?
Once you do a pull on the dyno the ECU freaks out even with traction control and you can no longer change modes without the ECU going back to normal which requires normal driving for a few minutes and then cycling the ignition. Also, what I have found out is the mode does not make a difference on the dyno because the torque request is the same between modes at 100% throttle so they will both show same HP.
if you watch the AHC Garage installation of the PRL intercooler, I believe they move that sensor to make room
Yeah, saw that after I did my install. I made it work though and didn't have to relocate the sensor. :)
What was the results?
Good results for charge pipes. Here is a link to the dyno vid. ruclips.net/video/dXj6nIvu2Ao/видео.html
@3:25. I am having an anxiety attack watching you use a metal screwdriver instead of plastic pry bar. 😊
no damage from that install but can't same the same after driving through a construction zone.. wished they used plastic gravel. :)
Oh man. I wish I knew about this! I would have love to have gone.
3:01 Can you view parameters like oil pressure since the FL5 has it?
Yes, Oil pressure is one of the many sensors hondata can read and log.
@@koaticus sweet thats awesome then
Love the Integra, keep it up
Thx John
Nice to see a company make a preassembled unit rather than one the customer has to assemble and glue together. I actually don't dislike factory look for the tanks, the problem is that they all start looking like crap after the plastics start to deteriorate. Good upgrade!
Nice addition. Which oil catch can did you buy? I see several versions on their website. Does the catch can seem easy to remove to service? Have you had any issues with the OCC since you installed it? Thanks
Awesome video, do you plan on doing the CCV catch can as well or just stick with the PCV one?
thx, just PCV for now. I might install CCV one when I upgrade the turbo.
I wonder how does this add more horsepower? I’m considering on getting one of these for mine as well
The pipes themselves are bigger in diameter for more airflow and also all aluminum which keeps a more consistant pressure that flexible silicon hoses.. Think it was half inch difference on both sides. I measure them in the install vid I did.
Very amazed considering its stock ecu! How much of a difference is the exhaust note from stock?
Exhaust note was definitely deeper with the DP and front pipe installed.
Your patience while realizing some issues is inspiring.
Where did you get the PTP lava blankets from
here is the turbo blanket www.ptpturboblankets.com/collections/honda/products/honda-k20c-civic-fk2-fk8-fl5-type-r-turbo-blanket and here is the downpipe blanket (this only works on aftermarket DP's like TSP and RV6. www.ptpturboblankets.com/collections/honda-downpipe-blankets/products/acura-honda-5-downpipe-blanket
@@koaticus thanks brother
I’m planning to do the same with my fl5 and im wondering is there any downside to not having a tune ?!
The only downside is that the parts are not fully utilized. Got the HVI and a tune now. Plan on a video to discuss all the differences I have experienced so far.. (traction will be a topic for sure)
Sub'd! Super helpful info. This is basically all i plan to do with my DE5. Love that you back it up with before/after dyno's too. Kinda suprised you dont need a tune for intake/exhaust bolt-ons. My last car was a stage 2 GTI...CELs all day without a flash.
Thats specifically why I went with TSP catted DP. other AM DP's throw CEL's because of secondary O2 and the way the ECU needs closed loop for proper dynamic values wanted all sensors working correctly.
Love the videos - super helpful. Will note for anyone else following - you can fit the bolt into the rear motor mount without taking off the pipe if it’s the stock front pipe. There’s an indent in the heat shield to where it can barely squeeze in and out with some play and the right angle.
Yeah, that's actually what messed me up because I noticed the right side of the bolt hole is a slot to slide the bolt up into it so didn't think it would have to go in first. PRL DP was too thick for the bolt to slide up so that will only work if you keep stock DP while changing RMM
thats huge gains without a tune! Keep on making that content!
Impressive and nice video. How much impact did these upgrades impact your MPG? Did your first upgrade with the larger intercooler cause any turbo lag? Still no CEL?
No CEL with any of the bolt-ons I have installed. No change in turbo lag until the DP and FP install and the lag noticeably decreased.
Thank you Good to know. So you actually decreased the turbo lag with the DP and FP. I would have thought with a larger inter cooler, that would cause more delay in turbo boost. Nice job
Yes, it is thank you.
This is exactly what I'm going to be doing to mine here this week.
coolio.. hope my video helped you so you don't make the mistakes I did. :)
