Trying to decide between stock manifolds or headers but don't want to break the bank? How does a pair of $375 headers sound?! This video is all about budget exhaust options for your Small Block Ford Windsor. Sure your stock cast iron manifolds are trusty and reliable but how much power, sound, and weight are you sacrificing?
In this video we compare weight, cost, inlet area, outlet area, sound, and ease of installation between a pair of stock cast iron manifolds and Patriot Clippster mid length headers (P/N H8434-B). The benefits may surprise you!

Love your videos. I'm building a '64: Falcon gasser.

Oo that will be sweet. Im jealous of the gasser exhaust! I bet it will look/sound sick

    Sounded good both ways..

Thanks i agree. I was extremely surprised to see how restrictive the stock manifolds were in terms of inlet and outlet area. There are massive restrictions on both ends and i suspect anything making more than 200hp would suffer with stock manifolds.

It is getting there! I have been battling smoking issues, which I hope I have now resolved with catch cans/proper baffling, and now what seems to be an ignition miss. I cannot wait until its running right. The short term exhaust plan is to ditch the tiny 2” exhaust and install a 2.5” x pipe, Flowmaster Super 44s, and turndowns.

@@truckandroll989 you’ll get it all ironed out!
love the series, you’re doing almost the same stuff step for step, what I’m doing with my 65 mustang. 👍🏼

Glad you're good at math because I suck at it LOL! I'm a fan of falcons and comets!

Lol im an engineer by trade so the math part comes easy! The big takeaway is how restrictive the outlet is on those stock manifolds - typical headers have a 3” collector so that disparity would be even bigger. I really like the uniqueness of the Comet and Falcons. Plus they weigh less. Im excited to get this thing onto a scale!

I know the previous owner of this car! I’m super excited to see what you are doing with this.
Any chance you’ll take it roll racing October 6th?
