Wow ! Possibly Andre's best match from 1981 on ! Yes , Sgt. Slaughter was a great ring worker too ! I aways loved when Slaughter got knocked to the ground, then he would quickly get up, stumble around dazed for a quick second or two, then flop back down to the ground again ! Great Entertainment !!! This kind of a match would take its toll on Andre's body too, i would think, with all his falling on his knees, back, hips, etc., buts thats pro werstling ! The early-mid 80's were one of the funnest times for wrestling ! Thanks for posting this clip !

What a great match. Slaughter was underrated. He could really sell for the baby face and he could get the crowd hot before the match. Wrestling will never be this good again

@@JohnDoe-kj6wp my Grandfather and a bunch of the other folks from his era thought some matches were fakes but, other matches were real. Like title matches were real because the Athletics Commission would have tk sanction a title match. I remember going to the matches with him in DC back in this time period I was about 7 then. And it was a eye opening experience for sure. He would sit with people he had known for years from boxing and wrestling. Also people of certain ethnicities would all sit together in one section. I think it was the first time I had ever heard different languages. I still can smell the cigar smoke and stale beer!!

Andre had really good matches at this stage of his career with big, physical guys that could sell, and he would sell also for the guys who he respected and who he thought worked well with him. His best matches were with Stan Hansen, but this was another in that mold.

Andre really could work a match before his body gave out. Hard to believe five years later Andre could barely walk, especially after watching him leap from the ring.
