and i am glad you did! my car didn't have one at all when i got it!, but i did remember cars past, so, got one coming, hope it works, but, know i can rebuild it!! lol!@@treetopspider
Very good video. Bmw drivers should have a working torch in the glovebox despite the fact that these torches were not really of much use. Dont know why they glued the case but you can't criticize Bmw.
Thanks Paul I think when theres no other option or the other options are too expensive, we tend to find a way. I'm looking forward to seeing you doing stuff in your workshop soon now that lockdown is coming to an end
How does the charge work? Is it always charging even when the car is parked? I retrofitted mine and i checked its always 12.45 volt is it supposed to work like that ?
I still have mine from my e36 but it doesn’t turn on. Figured it either needed a new bulb or a fuse may be blown that charges it but have 0 electrical issues so I think it’s just the bulb. Let’s hope so love that I still got it
It could either be the bulb or the battery. Ive still got a spare one even though the car is now sold. Ive been offered good money for it but for some weird reason, I just want to keep it
Can you give / write the part number and make or size / chemistry of the battery ? I assume this is less than 12V, due to the resistor on the one connector? Good show the rest of it anyway. Thanks! Bummer the design was not meant to be opened / repaired. Wonder if with a 3d printer someone could design some snap pieces to lock the housing together without adhesives.
a man of many parts! very neat and well done . Ok for 40 mins too.
A brief distraction from clocks hahah
@@treetopspider I think i have quite a few similar torches in the family needing attention - No? I understand. no more distractions!
The knife wounds on your fingers are not lost on me. 😊
great solder hack! smart! beautiful patient restoration, I just bought a replacement on Ebay, but loved this option.
Thank you. These things were so expensive on ebay that I had to find a cheaper option.
