I had some of those models as a kid (1977, I was 10), matter of fact, I still have them, more or less battered, and without boxes of course. I loved the little toy soldiers. I used to call the bald ones (evil ones?) "The Rockets", because they were bald and silvery, like the players of the french space-rock band... :D
I had all the green Adventure 2000 vehicles :) Still have the rear part of the 2001 sitting around. My kids lost/wrecked the rest of them. The tracks perished badly too.
What a fantastic collection and great to see the 2000's boxed and loose. My parents bought me these in 1978/79 when I was 7 to play with during the power cuts we had then in the UK when the power workers were striking. I've still got them and some of the figures but the missiles are long gone unfortunately. The boxes lasted about 10 seconds after receiving them😀. Love these trips down memory lane, thanks for the videos, please keep them coming!
I have fond memories of these toy vehicles. When I was in primary school (late 1970s), one of my school friends had (I think) the full set of these. The car with the wings that popped out, the missile wagon, the "Raider command" combo. Later on, I saw it in a 2000AD Dredd story as the "Land Cruiser/Killdozer" (that prog also had an advert for the vehicle toy). Flashforward to a few years ago, I found not one, but TWO of the "Raider command" sets at a "car boot sale". One set were loose in a tub of similarly well-played with toy cars - but had both vehicles; the rear vehicle was missing tracks and the missile. He wanted $20 for it. Done deal. The other guy (a "vintage toy" dealer) wanted over $100 for his - but it was in very poor condition, even if it was in "the original box" (which was likewise munted).
Had these as a kid and in the 90s i brought a brand new k2006 from a toy store for £2'99😂😂 goodness knows what their worth now😂100s im guessing 😂😂😂 didn't know about the judge dredd connection 😂
When i was kid i was loving realistic model cars, so don't like specialy futurist cars from Matchbox normal range, anyway for this serie it was different ( i have K 2003, and K 2004 all in green, never saw or don't remeber blue metalic colors ) and there was so cool ! great collection with this new in box : so hight artistic drawing box from Roy Huxtley ! .......thanks for sharing : good chilhood memories, take care ; )
I never saw these as a kid...lov the Adventure 2000 range. Looks totally awesome. Think they probably should have called it Mars 2021 or something more inspiring...lol! Great video again...
I had that set in 1970s. I remember those vehicles well and the metallic figures. SciFi toys were of many greats to own. It sure brings back memories of the good old days. I can't imagine what the cost of these toys are now! Nice show Jerry. 👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️
The weird thing about these was that, although there was no Judge Dredd figure, there was one which looked suspiciously like another '2000 AD' character, Johnny Alpha, aka. 'Strontium Dog'.
@@toysoldiernostalgia It's the guy with the helmet that comes to a point at the front. He's firing a weapon a bit like a sub machine gun. Johnny Alpha wore a very similar helmet.
Nah I think it was political correctness. In the late 70s there was a lot of debate on whether playing war was gonna make kids killers when they grew up. That`s why most companies like Airfix removed any depiction of fighting on the box art. But then again things change and maybe Star Wars was the new thing with the great movies.
It's a shame that the added toy soldiers were 1) out of scale, 2) non-poseable [at least 4poa would've been nice], and 3) couldn't interact with the vehicles, as in getting inside, but not only that.
@@toysoldiernostalgia Yep, sure. I remember them (Matchbox) very well; used to have several toy cars and action figures from them myself as a kid. In my opinion, Matchbox have been arguably the greatest British toymaker company in history (also made it big in North America, among others), though I know that a lot of people would argue that it was rather Palitoy, Corgi, or Hornby/Meccano. P.S. - I do know that they were owned by Tyco since 1992 (at the time the third largest US toymaker after Mattel and Hasbro) and that Tyco themselves were then purchased by Mattel in 1997, and they (Mattel) have owned Matchbox to this very day, which I've always considered kind of "redundant" since Mattel are the creators of Hot Wheels, and therefore Matchbox's identity and purpose have been somewhat teetering, or perhaps even decaying, under them during the last 2+ decades. 😞
@@subraxas I guess it´s kinda like with cars these days. All made on the same platforms and a Bentley is realy a Volkswagen. I totaly agree with you that it kinda takes some of the fun out of it.
The Raider Command vehicle turning up in Judge Dredd is the coolest thing that has ever happened anywhere.

Must have been great toys to have as a kid.
I've been building a small collection of these lately. They were some of my favorites as a kid !
Yes - remember this great set. Very cool. I am jealous...again.
I remember buying this when I was a kid and I got it as the 2000AD Judge Dredd Cursed earth story came out.
One of my friends older brother had all the blue ones , we used them with our Shado and Space 1999 toys , a lot of good memories , thank you.
Wow I have never even seen a blue one in real life. They are so rare and expensive.

Sadly now given away or garage sale finds decades ago.
I had the Raider Command as a kid and wanted it because of the 2000AD comic. As I was a big Judge Dredd fan.

Thanks for writing and sharing. Isn´t it funny how you can remeber when, where and how you got certain toys. They bring back so many memories.
I remember seeing them all in the toy shops at the time. It was a golden age
the rocket striker looks to be inspired by the Dinky UFO Shado 2 mobile toy
Wow. I had those and the 2000 AD comic with judge dredd. 👍❤️

Prices seem to be all over the place. Ebay is the craziest in variations.

They are pretty pricey in the box. Loose not to bad.

No fun crazy toys like this back in the USSR?

I guess maybe the Judge Dredd thing came after the sets were released. Which figure is that? Would be cool to check it out.

Nice.
I think it also inspired the GI Joe Hiss Tank
